Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing your heart about this house and the waiting you are in right now. It is understandable to feel hopeful and anxious when you can already picture yourself making a home there and you are waiting for news.
Scripture often speaks about waiting on the Lord, and it is one of the most difficult things to do. In that waiting, God invites us to trust Him rather than just trust an outcome. He sees your desire for a home and He cares about where you dwell.
The Bible makes a distinction between a building and a home. A house becomes a home not because of its walls, but because of the presence of the Lord within it. Long ago Solomon understood that even the most beautiful temple could not contain God, for the heavens cannot contain Him, yet God was pleased to fill that house with His glory so His people could meet Him there. In the same way, whether it is this house or another, what will make it a true home is His presence, His peace, and His grace dwelling with you.
You have asked for favor, and it is right to ask. God is merciful, and we live only because of His mercy. When His mercy is present there is hope, and His love is stubborn and pursuing. He does not let go of His people even when they fail. At the same time His ways are wiser than ours. There were times when His people wanted something earnestly, but He in His mercy withheld or redirected them because He had a better purpose. He still holds out good to those who seek Him, and He saves not by our striving but by His own faithfulness through Jesus Christ. Our part is to trust Him and believe.
So I will pray with you that if this house is the provision God has for you, He will open the door clearly and grant you favor in the eyes of those making the decision. And if it is not His best for you, that He will close the door gently, guard your heart from discouragement, and lead you to the place He has prepared. Either way, His purpose is that your life would bear fruit and know His nearness.
May the Lord give you peace while you wait, quiet your heart with the assurance that He is guiding you, and help you to seek first His presence. May whatever house He provides become a house of God in the truest sense, a place where you walk with Him, offer thanksgiving to Him, and experience His kindness daily.
Father, in the name of Jesus I bring this need before You. You know this desire for a home and the offer that has been made. I ask for Your favor and Your clear leading. If this is the house You have chosen, I pray You would grant a positive answer and make the way smooth. If not, I pray You would give peace to accept Your answer and trust that You have something better. Fill the waiting with Your presence and let whatever home is given be a place where Your glory and love dwell. Amen.
