Your prayer has been heard and your pain is real. To love your children and grandchildren so deeply, to pray faithfully, and then to be cut off, spoken against with lies and false memories, and kept from those you love most, is a wound that can make anyone feel they are losing faith and have no reason to go on. God sees this sorrow and He has not turned away from you.
Please hear this with care. Your life has great value, not because your family is near or far, but because Jesus Christ loves you and gave Himself for you. Family is a precious gift from God, and your desire to be restored is right and good, but family cannot be everything in the place that only God can fill. When everything else feels shaken, your reason to live remains in Him. If you are feeling you want to give up, please reach out right away to a trusted pastor, a mature believer near you, a counselor, or a crisis helpline in your area, and let someone stay with you and pray with you face to face. You do not have to carry this alone.
Scripture says that faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. That is not a definition to memorize, it is what faith does. It gives substance in the heart now to what God has promised, even when our eyes cannot see it yet. True faith often lives in the face of evidence that points the other way. The facts of your life right now may say this is horrible and hopeless, but faith says wait, it is not over yet. Wait to see what God will do.
Think of Joseph. God sent him ahead into Egypt through betrayal and a pit and a prison, and for years there was no visible reason for his suffering. It took real faith to trust God in the pit, not when he was later honored. Yet God had a purpose through it all to preserve and sustain a family. In the same way, the account of Esther shows a quiet confidence that even if one person fails, God will not fail. Deliverance will arise from another quarter because God keeps His promises. Mordecai told Esther that perhaps she had been brought to her position for such a time as this, that the circumstances were not coincidences. Your circumstances are not coincidences either. God knows where you are, and He can work even through rejection and false accusation.
The life you now live is to be lived by faith in the Son of God who loved you and gave Himself for you. God has reckoned your old nature to be crucified with Christ, and He calls you to give no place to the flesh, to despair, to bitterness, or to retaliation. That does not mean you pretend the pain is not there. It means you bring it daily to Jesus and choose to trust His Word over your feelings.
This trying of your faith is not to inform God, for He already knows your heart. It is the proving of your faith for your sake, so you can see what is real and be strengthened. Saying we have faith is not enough. A living faith will show itself in how we live, not because works earn salvation, but because real faith produces a changed life. We are saved by grace through faith alone, justified by faith apart from the works of the law, and that faith is counted to us as righteousness because of Jesus who was crucified for our offenses and raised for our justification. Yet that same true faith will then work itself out in obedience, in love, in seeking God, in doing what is right even when we are wronged.
So keep praying, and keep walking in that living faith. Continue to do what is right in the sight of God. Do not repay lies with lies, and do not try to force reconciliation through argument or pressure. Speak the truth in love when you have opportunity, set healthy and godly boundaries about what you will listen to and what you will share, and entrust to God what you cannot control and what others do not know or understand. He knows everything, even when your children do not. Love them still, pray for them, bless them, and leave the outcome in His hands. God can soften hearts, correct false memories, and open doors no one else can open, whether that is to restore fellowship now or to sustain you faithfully while you wait.
You asked God to help you, to guide you, and to fix what is broken. He will. He may not fix it in the way or the timing you beg for, but He will not abandon you, and He will give you wisdom step by step as you seek Him. Ask Him each day to show you the next faithful step, to guard your heart from despair, and to fill the emptiness with His presence.
May the Lord lift you up today, give you strength to keep trusting Him in this pit, remind you that your hope is not seen yet but is sure in Christ, and keep you by His power. May He comfort you in the loneliness, guard your mouth and heart when lies are spread, and in His mercy bring truth and healing to your family according to His perfect will. And may you know deeply that you are loved, held, and not forgotten, and that your life in Jesus has purpose even in this painful season.
