We hear your cry for help and stand with you in faith, lifting this burden before the Lord. The Bible assures us that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). The struggles you’re facing, this sense of bad luck or oppression, are not from Him, and we rebuke every assignment of the enemy against your life in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
Scripture tells us, "No weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that accuses you in judgment. This is the heritage of the Lord’s servants, and their righteousness is from Me," says the Lord (Isaiah 54:17). We declare this truth over your life. The enemy may seek to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came so that you may have life, and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We command every spirit of misfortune, lack, or oppression to flee from you now in Jesus’ name.
We also want to gently remind you that our help and protection come from the Lord alone. Psalm 121:7-8 says, "The Lord will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul. The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forevermore." We pray that you would experience His peace and security, knowing that He is your refuge and fortress (Psalm 91:2).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name. We thank You that You are our protector, our provider, and our deliverer. Lord, we ask that You break every chain of bad luck, oppression, or spiritual attack over [this person’s] life. We rebuke every assignment of the enemy and command it to leave permanently, never to return. Fill [this person] with Your peace, Your presence, and Your power. Surround them and all that belongs to them with Your divine protection. Guard their heart, mind, and spirit from fear, doubt, or despair. Let them walk in the victory that is already theirs through Christ Jesus.
Father, we also ask that You reveal any areas in [this person’s] life where the enemy may have gained a foothold. If there is unforgiveness, bitterness, or unrepentant sin, bring it to light so that it can be confessed and cleansed by the blood of Jesus. Restore what has been stolen and turn every trial into a testimony of Your faithfulness.
We declare that [this person] is covered by the blood of Jesus, and no weapon formed against them shall prosper. May they walk in the fullness of Your blessings, favor, and protection all the days of their life. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to stand firm in your faith, knowing that God is fighting for you. Spend time in His Word, for it is a lamp to your feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105). Surround yourself with believers who can pray with and for you, and remember that the enemy flees when we resist him, steadfast in the faith (James 4:7).
If you have not already, we also invite you to place your trust fully in Jesus Christ, for He is the only way to the Father (John 14:6). Salvation is found in no one else, and there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If you would like to surrender your life to Him or rededicate your heart, we would be honored to pray with you. Simply confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).
You are not alone in this battle. The Lord is your strength, and His angels encamp around you (Psalm 34:7). Keep your eyes on Him, and walk in the authority He has given you as His child. We stand with you in faith, believing for your breakthrough.

When your mind loops back to worrying over your safety or your stuff, try turning each specific fear into a simple, direct prayer: “Lord, I give this to You. Please cover it and keep it under Your protection.” That small habit can begin to pull the sting out of the anxiety.
You may also want to sit down with a mature Christian you trust, perhaps a pastor or a prayer partner, and ask them to pray with you, out loud, specifically for God’s peace to settle over your home and your heart. There is no phantom of ill luck that has power over the child of God, for you have been delivered from the power of darkness. What you call bad luck is but a shadow cast by your own fears; you talk according to your frames and feelings. The arrows of the enemy may fly, but the Lord’s deliverance is certain. He brought them forth; the deliverance is solely by the power of God. It is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy.
You cry for something to be sent away from you. Consider this: the greatest deliverance has already been accomplished. A ransom has been found. Deliverance from the pit comes not by luck or charm, but by the King’s own Son bearing the penalty. If you have looked to Him, then even the chastening you feel is not a token of wrath but a sign He has not erased your name from His heart. The Lord chastens sorely, yet He does not yield His own to the enemy’s power. The archers of ecclesiastical discord may shoot, the slanderer may bay like a dog, yet hear this ancient saint now: “My soul, wait thou only upon God, for my expectation is from him.”
Your prayer for safety for yourself and your stuff is heard, but take the greater safety. He is able to keep you from falling. Our safety lies in God our Savior. He who delivered you from the guilt of sin will keep you from the power of it. Your deliverance is effectual; in every deed He brings you forth. That dreadful hour of the adversary’s approach becomes the very stage for a song of deliverance. The wicked tongues around you? Perhaps that is the arrow of the Lord’s deliverance, shot to bring you to full reliance on Him. The deliverance promised is as noteworthy as that given at the Red Sea.
Now, what of your conduct after this deliverance? You shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord. The ministry of consolation is for you who are sorrowing and seeking Divine deliverance. Go, then, from your despondency, not as one liberated by some impersonal force, but as one whose deliverance is attended with enrichment. He brings forth with silver and gold. You speak of bad luck and something on you as if a spell has attached itself to your life. But what curse should truly occupy your fears? The Law pronounces a curse on everyone who does not abide by all that is written in it. That curse hung over all humanity, for no one kept the whole Law. Yet Christ has redeemed you from that curse by becoming a curse for you, hanging upon the tree. If you have been washed in baptism and cling to Him, the only curse that can destroy you has been broken. Why then do you tremble at shadows and charms, like one who knows nothing of grace?
You ask for safety for yourself and your belongings. Understand what true safety is. He who is conscious of no evil need not dread harm. He who walks in the light of Christ is in safety, for if a man seeing the light of this world is secure, how much more one who abides in the Son? Yet you must not think that safety means a life untouched by loss or pain. Consider Joseph: his brothers sold him, his mistress slandered him, he was cast into a dark prison. Look carefully. Was he in danger when he wore the fine coat of his father’s favor? Yes, for envy surrounded him. Was he in danger when he enjoyed honor in Potiphar’s house? Yes, for a wild beast of a woman hunted his soul daily. But in the prison, stripped of all earthly comfort, he was finally safe, safer in chains than in prosperity. The very things that seemed to harm him were God’s instruments to preserve him and raise him to a throne. The eunuch forgot him so that Egypt might remember him. So it is with you: what you call bad luck may be the hand of Providence shielding you from a far deeper evil. When you were at ease, perhaps you were in graver peril.
Do not ask God to send away some vague hostile force as if He needed to appease spirits or break a hex. Ask rather that He send away your unbaptized fears and your clinging to sin. The present age is called evil not because time itself is cursed, but because evil actions dominate it. Christ gave Himself for your sins precisely to deliver you from this present evil age. That deliverance is not a charm that protects your jars of oil or your roof from leaks; it is the rescue of your soul from the devil’s tyranny. The fire of judgment was prepared for the devil and his angels, not for you. If you cast yourself into it through a life of unrepentance, blame only your own works. But if you hold fast to the gift of adoption, no curse forged by man or demon can touch you. God allows thieves and murderers to enjoy wealth for a time, not because He favors them but because the hour of judgment is not yet. How much more will He care for you, His child, even if He permits trials?
So put away this pagan terror of luck. Pray instead: “Lord, keep me from the only evil that can truly harm me, which is my own sin. My possessions I commit to Your will; whether You give or take, I possess You, and that is enough.” If you continue in Christ and display a life worthy of the grace you have received, nothing dreadful shall befall you. Even when you are struck, by noble endurance you will be unmoved. That is greater than never being struck at all.

Consider the story of Zacharias and Elizabeth. In their culture, her barrenness was seen as a definitive curse, a mark of divine disfavor. Everyone accepted this. It was grounds for divorce. People would have understood if Zacharias walked away. Yet God was not silent in their supposed curse; He was preparing a deliverance far greater than they could imagine. Their “bad luck” was the very ground from which John the Baptist would emerge. The hope shifted not by removing a label but by God stepping into the situation with a purpose that overruled all human judgment.
The danger in praying only for bad things to be sent away is that it treats the spiritual world like a house that just needs sweeping clean. Jesus warned about that empty, swept house which later gets filled with seven worse things. If all you crave is removal, you leave a vacancy. The prayer we really need is not just for deliverance from something, but for the entrance of someone: the power of Jesus Christ into your life. When His light enters, darkness cannot coexist. It has to go. The departure of darkness is a foregone conclusion when the Deliverer Himself takes up residence.
So rather than just asking God to get something off you, ask Him to fill you with His Spirit. Don’t settle for seeking a spiritual housecleaning; invite the King of glory to come in and occupy every room. His protection over your life is not a force field that comes and goes with luck; it is the steady, guarding presence of a Shepherd who laid down His life for His sheep.
