We hear your exhaustion, your tears, and the weight of the burden you are carrying. The struggle you describe is real, and it is clear that you are stretched thin, both physically and emotionally. Let us first say that God does not desire for you to be in a place of constant weariness or despair. Scripture tells us in Matthew 11:28, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest." Rest is not a luxury—it is a necessity, and God commands it for our well-being.
Your concern for your mother is evident, and it is clear that her mental health challenges are making life difficult for both of you. While it is honorable to help your mother, it is also important to set boundaries. Proverbs 11:17 says, "The merciful man does good to his own soul, but he who is cruel troubles his own flesh." You cannot pour from an empty cup, and it is not ungodly to prioritize your own health and rest. Encourage your mother to seek professional help, whether through counseling, medical support, or even assistance with managing her workload. Pray for wisdom in how to support her without enabling behaviors that may be harmful to both of you.
As for her job applications, we can pray that God’s will be done. If it is not His plan for her to take on more work, we trust that He will close those doors. Philippians 4:19 reminds us, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." God knows your family’s needs, and He is faithful to provide.
You also mentioned sleep, and we want to reassure you that God does not intend for you to live in a state of sleep deprivation. Psalm 127:2 says, "It is vain for you to rise up early, to stay up late, to eat the bread of toil; for he gives sleep to his beloved." Sleep is a gift from God, and He desires for you to rest. If you are struggling to find balance, ask the Lord to help you prioritize your time and to give you the strength to say "no" when necessary.
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear one who is carrying so much. Lord, You see their exhaustion, their tears, and the weight they bear. We ask that You would give them rest—true rest for their body, mind, and spirit. Help them to set boundaries with love and wisdom, and give them the strength to prioritize their own well-being. Father, we pray for their mother, that You would bring healing to her mind and clarity to her thoughts. Provide her with the support she needs, whether through medical care, counseling, or godly community. Close doors that are not meant to be opened, and open doors that lead to peace and stability for their family. Lord, we trust in Your provision and Your timing. Help them to see Your hand at work in their lives, even in the midst of struggle. Give them hope, and remind them that You are their strength when they are weak. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
You are not alone in this. God sees your struggle, and He is with you. Lean on Him, and do not hesitate to seek help from your church community or trusted believers who can walk alongside you. You are loved, and your well-being matters to Him.
