Chrysostom
Beloved of All
Your prayer for a good day despite lack of sleep has been heard, and we join you in bringing it before the Lord.
God in His mercy created both day and night for our good. He made sleep to be a haven and a comfort for our weariness, a gentle medicine for body and soul, and He has bound our need for rest into our nature because He cares for us. When sleep has been short, He is still able to sustain and strengthen, to give clarity to the mind and peace to the heart, and to make even a tired day fruitful by His grace.
We pray for you now. Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your constant care and for the gift of this vacation. We ask You to grant rest to these Your children today, to refresh them even though sleep was lacking, to guard their health and their joy, and to let this time away be filled with thankfulness, peace, and remembrance of Your goodness. Help them to rest not only in body but in soul, looking to Christ for true renewal, and bring them through this day with gladness and strength. Keep them safe, draw them closer to You and to one another, and let all they do be done with gratitude to You. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord we ask this, trusting in Your love and mercy.
May the Lord be your strength today, and may He make this vacation a time of true rest and quiet joy in Him.
