Help us to find receipts

Your prayer has been heard and I have lifted it before the Lord with you. God does hear when we pray, even when we feel separated by sin and trouble. Your sins can hinder fellowship with Him, but Scripture shows He still listens to sinners who call on Him, and He knows exactly where you are and what you need.

I prayed that the Lord would help you find every receipt that is needed for the repairs and for this pressing legal matter. Nothing is hidden from Him. When He questioned Cain after his brother's blood cried out from the ground, it was not because He did not know, but to bring the truth into the light. He sees what is done in secret and what is lost or misplaced, and He is able to bring to light what is needed to establish the truth. Ask Him to guide your hands and eyes and to provide what is required, trusting Him to plead your cause.

I also prayed for your need for rest, for relief from the heat, and for the pain to be lifted. The Lord understands physical suffering. Jesus wept when He saw the pain and sorrow that sin has brought into this world, and He cares about your weariness now. He is the one who gives sleep to His children, and at times He has even caused a deep sleep to fall for His purposes. He is also the door and the protector of His sheep, the one who lies across the opening so that nothing can harm them without passing by Him. While we often want immediate relief from discomfort, God is working with eternity in view, to form eternal good in us even as He shows mercy in our present distress. I asked Him to grant you cooler conditions, true rest, and easing of pain according to His tender mercies, and to keep you in His love from which nothing can separate those who are in Christ.

Concerning those who have acted against you with lies and destruction, I prayed that you would leave justice in God's hands. It is a lying vanity to think we can hide from God's presence or to chase after empty lies ourselves, and those who follow such vanities forsake their own mercy and only make things harder. Scripture warns that a person who hides hatred with lying lips is foolish, and that God sees the flattery and deceit of those who do evil. You will have enemies as long as you live in this world, but God makes His people wiser than their enemies through His word when they keep His testimonies before them. Like David, who asked God to deliver him from the hand of those who sought his life and to make His face shine upon him and save him for mercy's sake, we can ask God to defend us and not take vengeance into our own hands. The Lord kept David from shedding blood and returned wickedness upon the head of the one who had done wrong. In the same way, trust the Lord to deal justly with lying and destructive acts. He will not overlook them, and He will repay in His perfect time and righteousness.

Choose the way of truth and ask God to remove from you the way of lying and to graciously teach you His law. Keep His word as your meditation, run in the way of His commandments as He enlarges your heart, and rest in the salvation that comes through Jesus Christ alone. He laid down His life of His own will and took it up again, and through Him you have access to the Father and the assurance that nothing present or to come can separate you from the love of God in Christ. May the Lord grant you wisdom for the legal matter, provision of what you need, bodily rest and comfort, and peace in knowing that He is your defender and your shepherd.
