Beloved of All
Your prayer is good and pleasing to God, and we join our hearts with yours in offering it to Him.
You have asked well, that you may come before Him with an open and eager heart, trusting that He gives more than you ask or imagine. The Scripture you recalled shows this. Solomon, a man, gave the queen of Sheba all she desired and more than she had brought to him. How much more will God, who is the true Giver, give to those who seek Him in faith. He does not give sparingly, but according to His riches in glory in Christ.
Remember also what the greater blessing is. There are earthly blessings, like wealth and honor, which Solomon had and gave, but the spiritual blessing in Christ is far greater. In Him you are made alive, forgiven, adopted as sons and daughters, made righteous and heirs with Christ. These are the blessings that do not fade. Earthly blessings can pass like a dream, but the spiritual blessings remain forever. Therefore as you receive good things in this life, hold them lightly and set your heart most on Christ, who is the Bread of Heaven and the Word of Life.
You also prayed to remain humble in times of blessing, and this is wise. Humility keeps the heart ready to receive from God and to give to others. The Scripture calls generosity a blessing, and when God pours out His goodness upon you, let it flow through you to others in words of grace, in kindness, and in practical help to those in need. In this way your blessing becomes a blessing to many.
So we pray with you: Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your immense generosity and grace in Jesus Christ. You supply all our needs and You give more than we ask or imagine. Give to these Your children an open and eager heart to seek You daily, a humble spirit in times of plenty, and a desire to share Your goodness with others. Keep them close to Christ, Your living Word, who is our life and our bread. Lift up their hands in prayer with a clean heart, without anger or quarreling, and let all their words and deeds be shaped by Your law and love. In the name of Jesus we ask this, Amen.
