Help us to come to You with an open and eager heart, trusting that You always give more than we can ask or imagine. Keep us humble in times of blessing

Your prayer is good and pleasing to God, and we join our hearts with yours in offering it to Him.

You have asked well, that you may come before Him with an open and eager heart, trusting that He gives more than you ask or imagine. The Scripture you recalled shows this. Solomon, a man, gave the queen of Sheba all she desired and more than she had brought to him. How much more will God, who is the true Giver, give to those who seek Him in faith. He does not give sparingly, but according to His riches in glory in Christ.

Remember also what the greater blessing is. There are earthly blessings, like wealth and honor, which Solomon had and gave, but the spiritual blessing in Christ is far greater. In Him you are made alive, forgiven, adopted as sons and daughters, made righteous and heirs with Christ. These are the blessings that do not fade. Earthly blessings can pass like a dream, but the spiritual blessings remain forever. Therefore as you receive good things in this life, hold them lightly and set your heart most on Christ, who is the Bread of Heaven and the Word of Life.

You also prayed to remain humble in times of blessing, and this is wise. Humility keeps the heart ready to receive from God and to give to others. The Scripture calls generosity a blessing, and when God pours out His goodness upon you, let it flow through you to others in words of grace, in kindness, and in practical help to those in need. In this way your blessing becomes a blessing to many.

So we pray with you: Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your immense generosity and grace in Jesus Christ. You supply all our needs and You give more than we ask or imagine. Give to these Your children an open and eager heart to seek You daily, a humble spirit in times of plenty, and a desire to share Your goodness with others. Keep them close to Christ, Your living Word, who is our life and our bread. Lift up their hands in prayer with a clean heart, without anger or quarreling, and let all their words and deeds be shaped by Your law and love. In the name of Jesus we ask this, Amen.

Your prayer reflects a heart that understands how God gives. The picture in 2 Chronicles 9:12 is a beautiful one. The queen of Sheba came with gifts and questions, and Solomon gave her all she desired and more than she had brought to him. That is how our God deals with us, only on a far greater scale. Scripture says He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, and He supplies our needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

That generosity does not rest on our ability to earn it. God made a covenant with Abraham saying in blessing I will bless you, and that covenant was confirmed and cannot be set aside by the law that came later. The law shows us our failure and condemns, but it cannot annul the promise. Through faith in Jesus Christ, who was born under the law and fulfilled it perfectly to redeem those under it, we become children of Abraham by faith and enter into that promised blessing. Your standing and your supply are not dependent on your works or your ability to improve yourself. Having begun in the Spirit by trusting Jesus to be counted righteous before God, we do not then try to perfect that work in the flesh. We are accepted not in ourselves but in Christ, redeemed through His blood, and all the blessings of His grace flow to us because of what He has done for us, not what we do for Him. Your failures cannot disannul a covenant that God Himself established and secured.

Because His giving is so abundant, your request for humility in times of blessing is wise and needed. There is a real danger in prosperity and in seasons of success to stop trusting the Lord and start trusting the strength, the riches, or the arm of flesh that He has provided. The key is to keep your heart in harmony with His heart and your life in harmony with His purpose. When you do, He can channel His resources through you so that His goodness flows not only to you but through you to others. Coming to Him with an open and eager heart means coming by faith to the throne of grace through Jesus our great high priest, believing that what He offers will profit you as you receive it by faith and that He will form Christ more fully in you.

May the Lord keep you trusting Him both in need and in abundance. May you know His presence and His hand even when circumstances make it seem He is distant, for His purposes will stand. And may His blessing make you a blessing to many.

Father, thank You for Your covenant of grace and for the gift of Your Son. We come to You through Jesus, asking for open hearts to receive all You desire to give, far beyond what we ask or imagine. Keep us humble and dependent on You in every season, and use what You pour into our lives to show Your love to others. In Jesus name, Amen.

We thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer.

We were blessed to lift up your prayer inspired by 2 Chr 9:12 with you, and to join you in thanking our Heavenly Father for His immense generosity and grace. We were reminded how King Solomon gave the queen of Sheba all she desired and asked for, and gave her more than she had brought to him, as a picture of how our God gives abundantly to His children.

We have continued to pray that the Lord will help us to come to Him with an open and eager heart, trusting that He always gives more than we can ask or imagine according to Eph 3:20, and that He will supply all our needs according to His riches in glory as promised in Phil 4:19. We have also prayed that He will keep us humble in times of blessing, that we will treasure Jesus more deeply as the Bread of Heaven and the Word of Life, the Word of God, and that His goodness will flow through our lives to others.

If your request was answered and you have seen His abundant provision and grace in a fresh way, please post a praise report and let us all know so we may rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.

We pray in Jesus Name that the Father will draw you close, deepen your trust in His generous heart, keep you humble and hungry for His Word, and let His goodness overflow from your life to others. May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son Jesus Christ.
