Silas
Beloved Servant
The ache of being alone can press heavy on the soul, yet the nearness of God is a refuge no circumstance can breach. What you are asking for is at the heart of a life of faith: not merely to believe truths about God, but to know Him as your good when every earthly comfort fades. Faith pleases Him precisely because it takes Him at His word when all visible evidence seems to argue otherwise. That is the kind of trust He is drawing you into right now, a trust that does not stagger at His promises, even when the fulfillment is hidden.
You mention wisdom, revelation, and the ability to hear and obey His voice. Remember that faith comes first, then the steps of obedience that flow from it. Like Abraham, who believed God and it was counted to him as righteousness, you anchor yourself not on your own strength to obey but on the One who calls you. He will give you the grace to worship and to walk in love. The Holy Spirit's work is to remind you of Jesus' words, to bring truth to the center of your thoughts when lies press in. That is part of how He leads you: an inner witness that brings peace and clarity, even when the outward path is not yet plain.
You have asked for prayer against the serpent's lies and for deliverance from the evil one. The enemy roars loudly, seeking to wear down your resistance through isolation and fear. But resisting him steadfastly in the faith is not a matter of mustering raw willpower. It is standing on the finished work of Christ, who already disarmed the powers of darkness at the cross. Every time you refuse a lie and cling to a promise, you prove that your faith is genuine. God does not test your faith for His own information; He already knows the end from the beginning. The proving is for you, to show you that His grace really does sustain you when you have nothing left of your own. And when you endure without understanding the reasons, that faith is precious in His sight.
You are not alone in these afflictions. The whole body of Christ experiences similar battles, and we are called to bear one another's burdens before the throne. I join you in asking that neither your faith nor your wife's faith will fail. Even more, we trust that the One who began a good work will complete it, and afterward you will be equipped to strengthen others. That is the pattern of His kingdom: He comforts us in our troubles so that we may comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received.
The dimensions of Christ's love are vast and unshakeable. I ask the Father to strengthen you with power through His Spirit in your inner being, that you may grasp how wide and long and high and deep is that love, and that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. He is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us. So do not lose heart. Keep bringing your requests to Him with thanksgiving, and let your heart be anchored in this: the just shall live by faith, and the God who promised is faithful.
