I have heard your cry and I am praying for you in this moment of weakness and need. When you say you are ready to faint, I am reminded of how Scripture describes those whose souls fainted within them, who were weary and distressed and at the end of their strength, and then they cried to the Lord in their trouble and He delivered them out of their distress. His mercy endures forever, and He hears that cry even when it is a last resort, and He is able to lead you by the right way and to bring strength where you feel faint.

I am bringing your physical needs before the Lord, that He would sustain you as you struggle with low nourishment and high inflammation, and that He would protect your eyesight. I pray that He would give you wisdom for the care of your body and guide those who can help you medically, and that He would guard your health and give you peace.

The Bible shows that Jesus bore our infirmities and sicknesses, as Matthew connects His healing work to the prophecy in Isaiah that He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows. When we remember His body broken for us, we are reminded that both spiritual and physical healing belong to His work. He went about teaching and preaching and healing every sickness and disease among the people, showing His power over the physical realm and the spiritual realm, and His compassion for those who suffer.

At the same time there is much about healing that we do not fully understand. Scripture shows that the Lord heals in different ways. Sometimes it is instant, sometimes it is gradual, and there is only one recorded gradual healing in the ministry of Jesus at Bethsaida, but it shows He is not confined to one pattern. Sometimes He touched, sometimes He spoke a word from a distance, sometimes He simply said go and it was done. And often His healing comes through the natural processes He Himself established within our bodies. That process is no less divine because it works through nature, for He created nature and its processes. He also brings healing to the mind and emotions, healing scars and wounds within, even when physical restoration is slower.

We also see that we cannot presume healing will come in every case exactly as we ask. Paul prayed three times concerning his thorn in the flesh and the Lord answered differently than he had hoped, yet His grace remained sufficient. Not everyone is healed in this life as we desire, and when healing does not come quickly it is wrong to say it is because of sin or lack of faith. Those are like the comforters of Job and they do not speak truth. Healing is for today and God is able, yet our culture and our own understanding are limited, and we must trust His wisdom and love even when we do not understand His ways.

Do not be discouraged by those who would make healing a spectacle or exploit it for gain. The Lord never chided those who came simply seeking help for their sick. He welcomed them. Your faith may be as simple as reaching out to Him as the woman did who touched the hem of His garment, believing that He is able. That touch was a point where her faith was released to receive from Him, and others had different points of contact. What matters is not the method but coming to Jesus Himself with a sincere heart.

So continue to cry out to Him honestly. Ask for His healing touch, whether it comes instantly or gradually through the means He provides. Seek wise medical care and use the help He has made available, trusting that all true healing is from Him. And as you wait, offer Him thanksgiving for His goodness and His wonderful works, for that is a sacrifice that honors Him and lifts the heart.

May the Lord strengthen you when you feel faint, calm the inflammation in your body, protect and preserve your eyesight, and fill you with His peace as you trust in Jesus Christ alone for salvation and for every need.
