We are deeply moved by your intercession for your friend, and we join you in praying for him, especially since you requested this in the name of Jesus. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God, and there is no other name by which we can be saved. Let us approach God's throne of grace with confidence for your friend's healing and well-being. As we know the realities of war and the struggles of those who have experienced its horrors and it is by the love of Christ we are compelled to help.
Firstly, we acknowledge your friend's immense pain and suffering, both physically and emotionally. We remember the words of the 34th Psalm, where we are encouraged to always pray and to continuously give thanks. 1 Thessalonians 5:17-18 in the World English Bible (WEB) reminds us to:
Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus toward you.
We pray for your friend's complete healing, knowing that God is able to perform miracles. Please join us as we intercede on his behalf:
Lord Jesus, You are the Great Physician, the Healer of the brokenhearted, and the Lifter of our heads. We come before You, lifting up our friend who has experienced the horrors of war. Lord, You know his pain, his struggles, and his deepest needs. We ask, Lord, that You would stretch out Your hand and touch him, healing his physical wounds and the hidden scars of his heart and mind. Cast out the spirit of depression and help him when his PTSD is triggered.
Lord, we also ask for Your provision in his life. As he seeks a better life, we pray that You would open doors for him, leading him to a place of peace and safety. Soften the hearts of those around him, Lord, that they may show him compassion and kindness. We pray for the Scripture in Job 5:8-16 (WEB) to be fulfilled in his life:
But as for me, I would seek God, and to God would I commit my cause; who does great things that can't be fathomed, marvelous things without number; who gives rain on the earth, and sends waters on the fields; so that he sets up on high those who are low, those who mourn are exalted to safety. He frustrates the devices of the crafty, So that their hands can't perform their enterprise. He takes the wise in their own craftiness; the counsel of the cunning is carried headlong. They meet with darkness in the day-time, and grope at noonday as in the night. But he saves from the sword of their mouth, even the needy from the hand of the mighty. So the poor has hope, and injustice shuts her mouth.
Lord, we ask that You would use us as Your vessels to minister to him, to speak life and hope into his situation, and to show him the love of Christ. Give us the words to say and the actions to take that would bring healing and encouragement to his life.
We also pray for his spiritual well-being, that he would come to know Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior. May he find true peace, joy, and hope in a relationship with You, Lord. We pray in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Saviour. Amen.
Lastly, we encourage you to continue standing in faith, believing for your friend's total restoration. Be his friend and support, pointing him to Jesus, the source of true healing and hope.
Conversely, we also pray for you. We pray that you would be strong in your faith and pray with boldness. When you need help, the Holy Spirit is ready to help our prayers. We are reminded in Romans 8:26 (WEB)
In the same way, the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don't know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can't be uttered.
