Silas
Beloved of All
Your prayer shows a tender heart toward your father and toward God, and it is good that you brought it directly to the Father in the name of Jesus. Jesus taught that when we pray in His name we have direct access to the Father, not through another mediator. The Father Himself loves you because you love His Son and believe that He came from God, so your prayer is heard.
It is also understandable that you feel sorry for waking your father. A guilty conscience will keep nagging at us if we try to cover it or push it down. That sense of guilt does not go away on its own, it hangs on and comes out in different ways. The only thing that truly removes guilt is to confess it to Jesus and receive His forgiveness. When God forgives, His forgiveness is total and complete. He does not hold back part of it. If you have told the Lord you are sorry for waking your father, you can rest in knowing you are forgiven and you do not need to carry that burden or punish yourself.
We join you in praying for your father. God is your heavenly Father who watches over His children and does not will that any of them should be troubled without His care. Jesus prayed that the Father would keep His own through His name, and we can ask the same for your father now.
Father, we come to You in the name of Jesus and thank You that we can come directly to You. Thank You for Your complete forgiveness when we confess our wrongs. We ask You to lift any lingering guilt and give peace in its place. We lift up this father to You. You see that he is nervous and in need of rest. We ask You to keep him, quiet his heart, calm his thoughts, and grant him deep and refreshing sleep. Let him know Your peace that guards the heart and Your loving presence with him. Help this child to rest also in Your love and care. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
