I had problems with pornography, masturbation, flirting (with the opposite sex) and sexual sins... Now there is a great improvement! Let us give all the glory and thanks for this to the Lord Jesus Christ! But there is still a great need for more improvement (lasting and true) for the glory of God! Let us pray for this...Please pray that God will help me and guide me to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from my life and heart, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Let us pray that God will also work, renew my mind, make me very wise, so that these sins will forever be far from me, in the Name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God will show me mercy, speak to me, give me understanding and deliverance. I really prayed and cried a lot...

We rejoice with you and give all the glory and thanks to the Lord Jesus Christ for the great improvement He has already worked in your life, for every tear you have shed in prayer has been seen by our Father. We praise God that He has heard your cries and has begun a mighty work of deliverance in you, and we join with you now to pray for lasting and true victory for the glory of God.

The sins you have named, pornography, masturbation, flirting and sexual immorality, are indeed serious before God and must be forsaken. The Scripture teaches us to flee sexual immorality, for every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body 1 Corinthians 6:18. Even looking with lust is adultery in the heart Matthew 5:28, and flirting outside of godly courtship that seeks marriage dishonors the purity God calls us to. We are called to abstain from sexual immorality, that each one may know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor 1 Thessalonians 4:3-4. These are not struggles to manage but sins to repent of and to flee from, and we commend you for desiring to remove them forever from your life and heart.

We encourage you that God is faithful to complete what He has started. We know that if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9. There is no temptation that has taken you except what is common to man, but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it 1 Corinthians 10:13. Your desire for a renewed mind is exactly what God promises, for we are told do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind Romans 12:2, and to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ 2 Corinthians 10:5.

We counsel you to do whatever it takes in practical holiness. Flee youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace 2 Timothy 2:22. This means guarding your eyes and heart, making no provision for the flesh Romans 13:14, removing access to pornography completely, avoiding places and conversations that stir flirting or lust, filling your mind daily with the Word of God, and walking in the Spirit so that you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh Galatians 5:16. Seek godly accountability with a mature brother in Christ and stay planted in fellowship where you can confess and be strengthened. Remember that true wisdom to hate sin comes from the fear of the Lord and from delighting in His Word day and night Psalm 1:2.

Father in heaven, we come before Your throne of grace in the mighty Name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You for the mercy You have already shown to our brother, for the tears he has poured out and for the improvement You have granted. We ask You to continue Your sanctifying work and perfect it for Your glory. Create in him a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within him Psalm 51:10. Renew his mind, make him very wise with the wisdom that comes from above, that he may discern and hate every form of sexual sin and see it as You see it. Teach him to flee temptation, to take the way of escape You provide, and to walk in purity and self control by the power of Your Holy Spirit. Speak to him, give him understanding, and grant him full deliverance, that these sins will forever be far from him and that his body and heart will be presented to You as instruments of righteousness Romans 6:13. Strengthen him when he is weak, comfort him when he cries, and let him know that Your grace is sufficient and Your power is made perfect in weakness. Keep him in Your perfect peace as his mind is stayed on You. We ask all of this in the Name of Jesus Christ, believing that You who began a good work in him will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ Philippians 1:6. Amen.

We encourage you to continue to pray and weep before the Lord, for He is near to the brokenhearted Psalm 34:18. Keep pressing on, for sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace Romans 6:14. Walk daily in repentance, in the Word, and in prayer, and trust that the Lord will keep you and make you holy for His glory.

If you do not already have it, we encourage you to invite one mature, trusted Christian brother or pastor or counselor to meet with you regularly for honest accountability, someone who can pray with you, ask hard questions with grace, and help you keep practical boundaries around fantasy, media and flirting. A small support group with the same purpose can also be a steady help.

Father, we thank You for the work You have already done in his life and for hearing his cries. We ask for Your mercy, for a renewed mind and a heart that loves what You love. There is great cause to rejoice with you and to give all glory to the Lord Jesus Christ for the improvement already wrought, and to continue in prayer that the work may be made lasting and true, to the glory of God alone.

We have heard your cries and your prayers, and we join our hearts with yours before the throne of mercy. The Lord has chastened you sorely, yet He has not given you over unto death, and what you have tasted of deliverance is of His free grace only. Deliverance from sin is solely by the power of God. It is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy. He must bring you forth, for you cannot bring yourself forth.

You do well to seek not only forgiveness of guilt, but deliverance from the power of sin, for the two must go together. Deliverance from the power of sin is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin. Where we look for justification, there must we also look for sanctification, and that from a heavenly source alone. You have been made partaker of a higher nature, born in you by regeneration, which lifts you up into fellowship with God, that having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust, you may walk in purity.

Remember the pedigree of sin, that when lust has conceived, it brings forth sin, and sin, when it is finished, brings forth death. Any sin, if we cling to it and love it, will bring forth death. And as you have proved, to drink of the cup of lust is to feel a thrill that makes the very bones to rot and the marrow to decay. Therefore we must look to our heavenly Father altogether and alone for a complete deliverance, and pray that He will renew your mind and make you wise unto holiness. Charity and purity are the two great garments of Christianity, and purity without which no man shall see the Lord must be sought with all earnestness.

Take comfort, for God has not only invented a way of deliverance, but He has found a ransom. So that it is a gift of Divine Love. The prisoner is ready to be executed, but there comes to him undeserved deliverance from all punishment, for the King's own Son has borne the penalty of all his iniquities. When God Himself proclaims concerning him who is going down to the pit, I have found a ransom, then is the deliverance certain, indeed it is already accomplished through the Lamb that was slain. Rest your soul upon Him, and God will yet come to your deliverance.

We will pray for you as you have asked, that the Lord will show you mercy, speak to you, give you understanding and deliverance, and work in you a settled renewal of mind, that these sins may be put far from you and your heart kept pure before Him.

O Lord our God, who has begun a good work in this soul, perfect it unto the day of Jesus Christ. Bring him forth with a strong hand, and enrich him with silver and gold of Thy grace. Give him wisdom to flee from every occasion of lust, to watch and pray, to feed upon Thy Word, and to walk in the way of holiness. Let him know experimentally that Thou hast delivered us, and that he is delivered from the power of darkness and translated into the kingdom of Thy dear Son. Keep him by Thy power, make him very wise to discern the snares of the enemy, and let him live to declare the works of the Lord.
