Beloved of All
I had problems with pornography, masturbation, flirting (with the opposite sex) and sexual sins... Now there is a great improvement! Let us give all the glory and thanks for this to the Lord Jesus Christ! But there is still a great need for more improvement (lasting and true) for the glory of God! Let us pray for this...Please pray that God will help me and guide me to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from my life and heart, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Let us pray that God will also work, renew my mind, make me very wise, so that these sins will forever be far from me, in the Name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God will show me mercy, speak to me, give me understanding and deliverance. I really prayed and cried a lot...😭

We give all the glory and thanks to the Lord Jesus Christ with you for the great improvement He has already worked in your life, and we rejoice that you have cried out to Him so earnestly. It is the Lord who brings deliverance and it is good that you desire not just partial improvement but lasting and true freedom for the glory of God. We join you in praying for complete removal of these sins from your life and heart.

The struggles you mention, pornography, masturbation, flirting with the opposite sex and other sexual sins, are matters the Scripture calls us to turn from completely. Jesus taught that lust in the heart is already sin, as in Matthew 5:28, and we are commanded to flee sexual immorality. 1 Corinthians 6:18 says Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. This includes pornography and masturbation, which feed lust and are forms of fornication outside of the holy covenant of marriage between one man and one woman. Flirting with the opposite sex outside of godly courtship with the goal of marriage to a fellow believer also opens the door to temptation and does not honor God. We encourage you to pursue purity and to flee youthful lusts as 2 Timothy 2:22 says, and if God wills marriage for you, to pursue it in holiness and self-control as 1 Thessalonians 4:3-4 says, For this is the will of God, your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to control his own body in sanctification and honor.

Lasting freedom comes not by willpower alone but by the renewing of the mind and walking by the Spirit. Romans 12:2 says Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God. Galatians 5:16 says Walk by the Spirit, and you won’t fulfill the lust of the flesh. We encourage you to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever, which means cutting off every source and way of access, as Jesus said to cut off what causes you to stumble, making no provision for the flesh, bringing your thoughts captive to Christ, meditating on what is pure as Philippians 4:8 says, staying in the Word daily, in prayer, and in accountable fellowship with mature believers who can help you walk in the light. 1 John 1:7 and 1 John 1:9 promise that if we walk in the light and confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. God also promises a way of escape in every temptation, 1 Corinthians 10:13 says God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, and we thank You for the work You have already begun in our brother. We thank You for his honest and tearful prayers and for the improvement You have granted by Your mercy and grace. We ask You to complete the good work You have started and to grant lasting and true deliverance for Your glory. Create in him a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within him as Psalm 51:10 says. Renew his mind, make him very wise in Your Word, and help him to hate what You hate and love what You love. Teach him to flee every form of sexual immorality, to turn his eyes from worthless things, and to set his mind on things above. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit so that he may walk by the Spirit and not fulfill the lust of the flesh. Show him Your mercy, speak to him clearly, give him understanding and deliverance, and provide the way of escape in every moment of temptation. Help him to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from his life and heart, to cut off every trigger and ungodly influence, and to pursue holiness with perseverance. Make him strong to resist the devil as he submits himself to You, as James 4:7 says. Let him be transformed and established as a new creation in Christ, where old things have passed away and all things have become new as 2 Corinthians 5:17 says. Keep him in Your perfect peace and guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus. We ask all of this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Thank you for opening your heart with such honesty. We hear how much you have prayed and wept, and we rejoice with you that you are seeing real improvement. Giving God the glory for that is exactly right.

We also hear your longing for lasting freedom, not just a temporary break. That desire itself is a good sign of God at work in you. In our experience, lasting change rarely comes through trying harder alone. It grows as we walk openly with Jesus and with a few trusted others who can encourage us, ask honest questions, and pray with us when temptation feels strong. Old habits can return quickly when we are isolated or trying to manage feelings on our own.

One practical step that helps many is to invite one mature, same-sex believer you trust, a pastor, mentor or faithful friend, to be a regular confidential accountability partner. Meeting briefly each week to share honestly, pray and stay rooted in Christ can make the journey less lonely and more steady. If you do not have that person yet, a pastor or Christian counselor can help you find a small support group.

Father, we thank You for the progress You have already given our brother and for his hunger for purity. Show him Your mercy, renew his mind and give him wisdom for each daily choice. Keep him close to You, surround him with trustworthy help, and lead him step by step into lasting freedom. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We give all glory and thanks to the Lord Jesus Christ with you for the improvement He has already wrought, and we hear your cry for a lasting and true deliverance for the glory of God. It is well that you do not rest in a little progress, for the only hope we can have of eternal life is by being parted from sin, and we have from day to day to fight against it till it is utterly put away from us.

Be encouraged that your case is not beyond the power of mercy. The word is, "Then He is gracious unto him, and says, Deliver him from going down to the Pit: I have found a ransom." Nobody would have thought of that way of deliverance from the pit through a ransom if God had not thought of it, but He has not only invented the way, He has found the ransom Himself. The prisoner ready to be executed finds undeserved deliverance because the King's own Son has borne the penalty of all his iniquities. In Christ, God has given commandment to save you, and you shall be saved, saved from yourself and from all the attacks of your old sins.

Know also that deliverance from the power of sin is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin. It is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy. When any man is saved from spiritual bondage, it is the Lord Jesus who loosens the captive, and unless a supernatural power is put forth, any form of deliverance is worth nothing. You must look to your heavenly Father altogether and alone for sanctification, and He who has begun a good work is able to keep back your soul from the Pit.

At the same time, the Lord who delivers also chastens, and that which we receive from the rod of the Lord bears the blessed aspect of chastening from a Father's hand. He fills the bitter cup as well as the sweet goblet, and He sits as a Refiner by the furnace. Your tears and cries are not lost upon Him. He looks down from the height of His sanctuary upon those who are fettered and resolves to set them free, though for a season they still feel the chain.

Therefore keep yourself unspotted from the world. The Christian never expects to get any good from the world, and when you find people or places or images that would draw you toward what is impure, leave them and get away from them. You do not need to be muddied. Above all, cry to God to preserve you from evil. He has taught many to say, He has delivered us from the fascinating power of sin, from the power of darkness, and He can teach you to say the same. Turn away from that which would ensnare you, of what service can it be to you. Flee those youthful lusts, guard the eye and the heart, bring every thought captive to Christ, feed your mind daily upon the Word, and walk in the light with faithful brethren to whom you can be accountable.

We join you now in prayer.

O gracious Father, we thank You for the ransom You have found in Your Son, and for the measure of deliverance You have already given to this soul who cries out to You. We ask in the Name of Jesus Christ that You would complete what You have begun. Work in him, renew his mind, and make him very wise, that these sins will forever be far from him. Show him mercy, speak to him, give him understanding and full deliverance. Keep him unspotted from the world, deliver him from the power of darkness, and cause him to live and declare the works of the Lord. Let him know that this deliverance is by Your divine power and free grace alone, that no flesh may glory. Preserve him by Your Spirit, teach him to hate what You hate and to love purity and holiness, for You have called us not to uncleanness but to holiness, and sex and all its joys belong only within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman. Establish him, strengthen him, and let lasting fruit be seen to Your praise. Amen.
