I had problems with pornography, masturbation, flirting (with the opposite sex) and sexual sins... Now there is a great improvement! Let us give all the glory and thanks for this to the Lord Jesus Christ! But there is still a great need for more improvement (lasting and true) for the glory of God! Let us pray for this...Please pray that God will help me and guide me to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from my life and heart, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Let us pray that God will also work, renew my mind, make me very wise, so that these sins will forever be far from me, in the Name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God will show me mercy, speak to me, give me understanding and deliverance. I really prayed and cried a lot...

We rejoice with you and we give all the glory and thanks to the Lord Jesus Christ for the great improvement He has already worked in your life, and we thank you for sharing your honest struggle with us. We hear your crying and your earnest desire for lasting and true deliverance, and we join our faith with yours for complete freedom for the glory of God.

The Word of God is clear that these sins grieve the Lord and harm the soul, and that we are called to flee from them and to walk in purity. We are told to flee sexual immorality, for every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body 1 Corinthians 6:18. Jesus taught that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart Matthew 5:28. This includes pornography, masturbation which is lust indulged in the flesh, and flirting outside of godly courtship toward marriage, for these are not love but lust and fornication that God calls us to put far from us. God calls us to abstain from sexual immorality, that each one know how to possess himself of his own vessel in sanctification and honor 1 Thessalonians 4:3-4.

We also take great hope in the promise that you can be renewed and made wise and kept pure by His power and not your own strength. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind Romans 12:2. We are called to walk by the Spirit, and you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh Galatians 5:16 and to think on whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are pure Philippians 4:8. When we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9 and to create in us a clean heart and renew a right spirit within us Psalm 51:10.

We encourage you to continue to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever, as you prayed. That means making no provision for the flesh, cutting off every source and access to pornography, guarding your eyes and your heart, avoiding flirtatious conversations and situations that stir temptation, bringing your struggle into the light with a mature Christian brother for accountability, and daily filling your mind with Scripture and prayer. God honors such decisive obedience and He is faithful to give a way of escape when temptation comes 1 Corinthians 10:13.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the precious Name of Jesus Christ and we thank You for the mercy You have already shown to our brother and for the improvement You have granted. We ask You to complete the good work You have begun. Lord, renew his mind, make him very wise in Your Word, and write Your laws upon his heart so that these sins will forever be far from him. Grant him deep deliverance, speak to him, give him understanding, and fill him with Your Holy Spirit so that he walks in purity and self control. Help him to hate what You hate and to love what You love, to flee every appearance of evil and to pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace. Create in him a clean heart, O God, and uphold him with a willing spirit, and keep him steadfast until the end, all for Your glory. We ask that You guard his eyes, his thoughts and his heart, and lead him to live in holiness as a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful for Your purposes. We were so moved by your honesty and by the tears you mentioned. Thank you for trusting us with this. We rejoice with you for the real improvement you have seen, and we give thanks with you to the Lord Jesus for His mercy in it. That progress matters, and we do not take it lightly.

Wanting lasting freedom and not just a temporary break is a humble, good desire. In our experience, this kind of change is often less like a single moment and more like learning a new way to live day by day. Old patterns were formed over time, and new patterns of purity, wisdom and self control are also built over time as God renews the mind and heart.

One thing that has helped many who walk this same road is not walking it alone. If you do not already have it, prayerfully consider inviting one trusted, same-sex Christian friend, pastor or mentor to know your story and to check in with you regularly with honesty and without shame. That kind of steady accountability, alongside prayer and staying rooted in fellowship, can be a real support when temptation or discouragement comes.

Father, we thank You for the work You have already begun here and for hearing every prayer and tear. Have mercy and continue to renew and strengthen our friend, give understanding and a clear way forward each day, and guard their heart. Lead them to trustworthy support and keep them close to You. Hey, I have to tell you something. I am no better than you, you are no better than me. Lust is the same level of sinfulness as being gay. We have to wait on the Lord to change us. I respect you. I don't see you as less as anybody else. I consider you as my friend. God bless you! Jesus loves you so much!

There is much cause to give thanks to the Lord Jesus Christ with you for the improvement He has already wrought, and to give Him all the glory for it. Every step away from impurity is of His grace, and when the heart begins to loathe what it once loved, it is because a higher nature, born by regeneration, has been implanted within, making you a partaker of the Divine Nature, that you may escape the corruption that is in the world through lust.

We hear your cry, and we do not despise it. You have prayed and wept much, and the Lord who hears the broken in heart has heard you. Yet you feel rightly that you need a more lasting and true deliverance, for any sin, whatever it is, if we cling to it and love it, will bring forth death. Lust when it has conceived brings forth sin, and sin when it is finished brings forth death. Purity and charity are the two great garments of Christianity, and charity without purity will be of no use, for without holiness no man shall see the Lord.

Know this, that deliverance from the power of sin is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin. It is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy. You cannot by your own resolve alone keep these sins forever far from you. He must bring you forth, and He will, for He has found a ransom. The prisoner ready to go down to the pit finds deliverance not in himself but in this, that the King's own Son has borne the penalty of all his iniquities. When God Himself proclaims, I have found a ransom, then deliverance is certain, indeed it is already accomplished at the cross where the Lamb was slain.

Therefore we join our prayers to yours in the Name of Jesus Christ, that God will show you mercy, speak to you, and give you understanding and full deliverance. We pray that He will renew your mind, according to His promise, and make you very wise to discern and to flee from every occasion and appearance of evil. We pray that He will guide you to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from your life and heart, not by mere outward restraint but by inward cleansing, that you may be kept unspotted from the world. We pray that He will work in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure, and that your deliverance may be attended with enrichment, bringing forth silver and gold, even the richer graces of faith, love and joy in Christ.

Look steadily to the Lord Jesus Christ for all things. He is not a distant figure who lived long ago and died, but He is alive, your familiar Friend. When a child of God in deep distress believes in his Father and looks to Him for deliverance, those eyes have mighty power with Christ. Continue to look to Him, to trust not in your tears or prayers themselves, but in His blood and power. And when He has delivered you, live to declare the works of the Lord, for He has chastened you sorely but He will not give you over unto death. You shall not die, but live, and declare His praise.

Walk then in watchfulness and in the means of grace, in the Word, in prayer, in honest fellowship, fleeing youthful lusts and pursuing righteousness within that holy way which God has ordained, where the union of one man and one woman alone bears the honor of marriage. May the Lord keep you, establish you, and cause you to sing songs of deliverance for a greater salvation than any earthly conquest, to His glory alone. Amen.

We thank God with you for the improvement He has already worked in your life, and we give all glory to the Lord Jesus Christ for it. To see that those chains of pornography, masturbation, flirting and other sexual sins are being broken is a sign of His mercy and power at work in you, and it gives us great hope as we pray for you now for lasting and true deliverance.

You have cried out and prayed a lot, and that is exactly what God calls us to do. As Scripture says, seek and you shall find, but we find Him as one finds gold, with much labor, seeking with our hands by night, concentrating our mind, asking, searching, and not turning back. Keep seeking Him in that way, with persistence and with your whole heart. Do not grow weary, for He hears those who seek Him earnestly.

The change you are asking for is the renewal Scripture speaks of. To be renewed is not to become a different person, but for the same person to be made new in what is inward, in the spirit of your mind. When the mind holds the reins, all else follows in order, but when the mind is darkened and corrupted, everything is dragged out of course. That is why your prayer for a renewed mind and for wisdom is so right. God must renew the inner person, the thoughts and desires, and then the deeds follow. The Spirit who lives in us will not endure old deeds, but teaches us to put them off.

Therefore flee as Scripture commands us to flee youthful lusts. This does not mean only a sin of the body, but every inordinate desire that comes from a heart not yet established. Fleeing means turning away decisively, not lingering to bargain with temptation. It means guarding the eyes and the imagination, making no provision for the flesh, and offering yourself to God as a living sacrifice. True worship is not only outward cleansing, but worship in spirit and in truth, with purity of mind, circumcising evil thoughts and crucifying unreasonable desires.

We will pray for you now and continue to pray.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, we thank You for the work You have already done in our brother and for the honesty of his cry. We ask for Your mercy upon him. Speak to him, give him understanding, and grant him full deliverance. Renew him in the spirit of his mind, make him wise with the wisdom that comes from Your Spirit, and keep these sins far from him forever. Teach him to seek You with labor and love, to watch over his heart, and to walk in purity for Your glory. Strengthen him to flee what harms his soul and to pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace. Establish his heart, guard his thoughts, and let him live as one who worships You in spirit and in truth. Continue in prayer, in the Word, and in fellowship with faithful believers who can help you stay accountable. When temptation comes, turn at once to Christ, remember His mercy, and set your mind again on what is pure and holy. God is able to keep you and to make you stand, and He delights to give wisdom and deliverance to those who ask Him.
