I had problems with pornography, masturbation, flirting (with the opposite sex) and sexual sins... Now there is a great improvement! Let us give all the glory and thanks for this to the Lord Jesus Christ! But there is still a great need for more improvement (lasting and true) for the glory of God! Let us pray for this...Please pray that God will help me and guide me to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from my life and heart, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Let us pray that God will also work, renew my mind, make me very wise, so that these sins will forever be far from me, in the Name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God will show me mercy, speak to me, give me understanding and deliverance. I really prayed and cried a lot...

We rejoice with you and give all the glory and thanks to the Lord Jesus Christ for the great improvement He has already worked in your life, and we praise God that you have continued to pray and cry out to Him with a sincere heart. He hears the cries of those who seek Him and He is faithful to complete the good work He has begun.

We also want to lovingly and firmly speak the truth about these sins, because God calls us to holiness for His glory and for our good. Pornography, masturbation, flirting with the opposite sex outside of godly courtship, and all sexual sin outside of marriage is fornication and lust of the heart. Jesus taught that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart in Matthew 5:28. We are commanded to flee sexual immorality in 1 Corinthians 6:18, for every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. God designed sexual intimacy as a gift to be enjoyed only within the lifelong covenant of marriage between a man and a woman, and any use of it outside of that design dishonors Him and harms us, as we read in Hebrews 13:4 and 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. Flirting that is not directed toward godly courtship with the goal of marriage to a fellow believer in Christ also opens the door to temptation and does not align with purity.

We encourage you greatly, because your desire for lasting and true deliverance is evidence of the Holy Spirit working in you. God promises that if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness in 1 John 1:9. Lasting freedom comes not by our own strength alone but by renewing the mind and walking by the Spirit. We are urged not to be conformed to this world, but to be transformed by the renewing of your mind in Romans 12:2, and to bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ in 2 Corinthians 10:5. The way to walk in that renewal is to make a covenant with your eyes as in Job 31:1, to flee youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace in 2 Timothy 2:22, and to hide God's word in your heart that you might not sin against Him in Psalm 119:9-11. God has also promised that no temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it in 1 Corinthians 10:13. This means practically doing whatever it takes, putting far from you every source of temptation, installing accountability, seeking fellowship and counsel from mature believers, and guarding your heart and mind daily.

Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ, and we thank You for Your mercy and for the improvement You have already granted to this dear one. We ask that You would continue Your mighty work and grant complete and lasting deliverance from pornography, masturbation, flirting and all sexual sin. Lord, create in him a clean heart and renew a right spirit within him in Psalm 51:10, renew his mind, make him very wise in Your ways, and teach him to hate what You hate and love what You love. Give him understanding, speak to him through Your Word, and lead him in the way of escape whenever temptation comes. Help him to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from his life and heart, to flee from every appearance of evil, and to walk in purity and holiness for Your glory. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, strengthen him with power in his inner being, and keep these sins forever far from him. We ask for Your mercy, Your guidance, and Your transforming grace, that his life would bear lasting fruit and bring glory to You. We trust that You who began a good work will perfect it until the day of Jesus Christ in Philippians 1:6. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to cry out to the Lord, to stay in His Word daily, to walk in open fellowship and accountability with godly believers, and to quickly confess and turn from any stumble. God delights to show mercy to a contrite heart and He will give you wisdom liberally when you ask in faith. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, pursue purity as preparation for a godly marriage if it is His will for you, and trust that He will make your path straight as you seek to honor Him.

Thank you for writing so honestly and for giving God the glory for the improvement you have seen. We hear how much you have prayed and wept through this, and how deeply you want lasting freedom that honors Him. That desire itself is a good and hopeful sign, and we thank God with you for the steps forward already.

We have found that wanting to be free forever is important, and walking it out usually happens day by day with steady support. Trying to fight these temptations alone can leave us feeling double minded and exhausted. Many who find lasting growth do so with consistent accountability and spiritual direction, not just private resolve. If you do not already have it, we encourage you to invite one trusted, mature believer, a pastor or a Christian counselor, into regular honest check ins, or to explore a small Christian support group where you can be known and encouraged. It is a simple, practical way to keep your mind renewed and your choices guarded.

Father, we thank You for the work You have already done in our brother's life and for his tender heart toward You. We ask for Your mercy, for wisdom and a renewed mind, and for strength to walk in purity each day. Guide him to the right support and help him to keep surrendering to Jesus. Keep him close to You and give him hope for the journey ahead. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

We thank God with you that He has heard your cries and tears and has already wrought improvement in your life, and with you we give all glory and thanks to the Lord Jesus Christ, for every step away from sin is His work alone. It is a good sign that you mourn what once you pursued, for godly sorrow is the work of grace in the heart.

You have confessed those sins which so easily beset us, pornography, impurity and flirting which leads the heart astray, and you desire a lasting and true deliverance for the glory of God. Hear then what the Scripture teaches, that charity and purity are the two great garments of Christianity, and charity without purity will be of no use, for without holiness no man shall see the Lord. Lust when it has conceived brings forth sin, and sin when it is finished brings forth death. That is the pedigree of sin. Any sin, whatever it is, if we cling to it and love it, will bring forth death. You have tasted this and you are right to flee from it with your whole heart.

Be encouraged that deliverance from the power of sin is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin. Where we look for justification, there must we also look for sanctification. It is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy. He must bring you forth, for willingly as you are to move, it is still true, He brings them forth. Your deliverance came when the Lamb was slain, and God has not only invented a way of deliverance but He has found a ransom, and that ransom is His own Son who bore the penalty of all iniquity. When God Himself proclaims, I have found a ransom, then is the deliverance certain, indeed it is already accomplished for all who trust in Christ.

We will pray for you as you have asked, that the Lord will work in you according to His mercy.

Let us pray that God will renew your mind and make you wise unto holiness, that you may be made a partaker of the Divine Nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. Let us pray that He will give you understanding to see sin as God sees it, and strength to do whatever it takes to put away every provision for the flesh, to keep your eyes and your heart pure, to flee youthful lusts and to pursue righteousness. Let us pray that He will show you mercy, speak to your soul by His Word and Spirit, and keep you by His power, so that these sins will be far from you and you may walk in the way of holiness.

Take then the means which God blesses. Keep close to Christ your familiar Friend who lives and intercedes for you. Let your eyes be ever looking unto Him for all things, for when a child of God in deep distress believes in his Father and steadily looks to Him for deliverance, those eyes have mighty power with God. Fill your mind with Scripture, watch unto prayer, avoid every place and image and conversation that would rekindle the old fire, and seek fellowship that will help you to keep your garments unspotted from the world. Remember that sex and all its joys belong only within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman, and outside that holy bounds it brings only wounds and death.

If you had no troubles you would have less to declare, but having been chastened and delivered you shall not die but live and declare the works of the Lord. Go on to declare what He has done for you, and let your gratitude be deeper and your song more jubilant, for you have been delivered from worse enemies than any earthly foe and saved by a greater salvation.
