I had problems with pornography, masturbation, flirting (with the opposite sex) and sexual sins... Now there is a great improvement! Let us give all the glory and thanks for this to the Lord Jesus Christ! But there is still a great need for more improvement (lasting and true) for the glory of God! Let us pray for this...Please pray that God will help me and guide me to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from my life and heart, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Let us pray that God will also work, renew my mind, make me very wise, so that these sins will forever be far from me, in the Name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God will show me mercy, speak to me, give me understanding and deliverance. I really prayed and cried a lot...

We rejoice with you in the progress the Lord has already brought into your life, breaking the chains of pornography, masturbation, and sexual sin. Your heartfelt cries and prayers have not gone unheard, and we see the hand of God moving mightily in your life. The fact that you are seeking lasting, true transformation for God’s glory is evidence of His work in you. Let us stand together in agreement, lifting you up before the throne of grace, where mercy and help are found in time of need.

First, we must address these sins with the truth of Scripture. Sexual immorality, whether through pornography, masturbation, or flirtation outside the bounds of marriage, is a serious offense against God. The Word declares, "Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s" (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). These sins not only defile the body but grieve the Holy Spirit, who dwells within you. Yet, we serve a God who is rich in mercy and abounding in grace, and He is faithful to complete the work He has begun in you.

We also recognize that these struggles often stem from deeper issues, loneliness, unmet desires, or a mind that has been conformed to the patterns of this world. The renewal of your mind is essential, as Scripture commands: "Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God" (Romans 12:2). This transformation is not achieved by human effort alone but by the power of the Holy Spirit working in you. We must also guard our hearts and eyes, for Jesus warned, "But I tell you that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart. If your right eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out and throw it away from you. For it is more profitable for you that one of your members should perish, than for your whole body to be cast into Gehenna" (Matthew 5:28-29). This is a call to radical obedience, to take whatever steps necessary to remove stumbling blocks from your life.

We rebuke the lies of the enemy that whisper you cannot overcome these sins. The devil seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that you might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). You are not powerless; you are more than a conqueror through Christ who loves you (Romans 8:37). The battle is real, but the victory is already won. We must also address the root of these sins, often idolatry, where desires for pleasure, validation, or escape take precedence over your love for God. As you seek deliverance, ask the Lord to reveal any idols in your heart and to replace them with a deeper hunger for Him.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Name above all names, the only Name by which we can be saved and find access to Your throne. Lord, we thank You for the work You have already done in this dear one’s life, for the brokenness and repentance that have drawn them closer to You. We ask that You would complete the good work You have begun, for Your Word declares that You are faithful to do it (Philippians 1:6).

Father, we ask for lasting deliverance from the sins of pornography, masturbation, and flirtation outside of marriage. Break every chain, Lord, and set this child of Yours free. Renew their mind, transform their heart, and fill them with Your Holy Spirit so that they may walk in purity and holiness. Give them wisdom to recognize and resist temptation, and the strength to flee from every appearance of evil. Lord, we ask that You would heal any wounds or emptiness that have led to these sins, and fill them with Your love, peace, and purpose.

We pray for a fresh outpouring of Your mercy, that You would speak to them in ways they cannot ignore. Open their eyes to see the beauty of Your holiness and the destructiveness of sin. Give them a hunger for Your Word and a passion for prayer, that they may grow in intimacy with You. Surround them with godly accountability and fellowship, so they are not isolated in this battle. Lord, we ask that You would prepare them for a godly marriage, should that be Your will, where they can honor You with their body and their heart.

We rebuke every spirit of lust, addiction, and deception that has had a foothold in their life. In the name of Jesus, we command these spirits to leave and never return. We declare that this child of God is washed clean by the blood of Jesus, sanctified, and set apart for Your glory. May they walk in the freedom that Christ died to give them, and may their life be a testimony of Your power and grace.

Father, we ask all these things for Your glory, that Your name would be exalted in their life. Strengthen them, Lord, and help them to stand firm in the faith. May they never forget that it is by Your grace alone that they are saved and set free. We thank You for hearing our prayer, and we trust in Your faithfulness to answer. In Jesus’ precious and holy name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord with all your heart. Spend time daily in His Word, for it is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12). Memorize Scripture that speaks to your struggle, such as Psalm 51:10, "Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me." Surround yourself with believers who will pray for you, hold you accountable, and encourage you in your walk with Christ. Consider fasting as a way to draw closer to God and break the power of these sins in your life. Remember, the battle is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces of evil, so put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18) each day.

You are not alone in this fight. The Lord is with you, and so are we. Keep pressing into Him, and do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not faint (Galatians 6:9). The road to freedom is a journey, but with each step, you are drawing closer to the heart of God. He loves you more than you can imagine, and His grace is sufficient for you. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). To God be the glory, both now and forevermore!

Real, lasting transformation is more often a steady walk than a sudden event, and you are already walking. We pray for you now:

Lord Jesus, thank You for this dear one and for the victory already won. We ask You to guide them to whatever will help tear down the remaining strongholds, whether that’s a trusted friend, a counselor, or a fresh insight. You have cried to the Lord, and He has heard you; let us give all glory to Jesus Christ for the deliverance already wrought. The chains are loosening, and that is a mercy indeed. But you are right to crave a lasting and true freedom, for a half-measure will never satisfy a soul that has tasted grace. Sin is a cunning hunter; it will not give up its prey without a desperate struggle. When the Israelites were brought out of Egypt, Pharaoh pursued with all his host, and so your old sins will chase you hard. Yet the Lord commands, “Deliver him from going down to the Pit.”

The only complete victory lies in looking wholly to the ransom that God Himself has found. Nobody would have thought of a way of deliverance but God, and that way is the blood of Jesus Christ. You must never imagine that you can root out these evils by your own strength. Deliverance from the power of sin is as much the work of God as deliverance from its guilt. So cry to Him night and day, “Lord, keep me; Lord, deliver me; Lord, renew my mind.” Never think that you are safe except as you hide yourself in Christ moment by moment. The spider’s cobwebs of temptation seem frail, but they are strong enough to hold a soul that leans on itself.

Be sure that you do not merely seek relief from a conspicuous sin while entertaining the spirit of it within. Some professors act as though they were not delivered from the power of darkness at all, but only helped to keep away from open scandal. But true grace hates sin itself. Where Jesus takes away the guilt, He also kills the love of it. Ask Him to make you wise to see where sin hides, to give you an understanding heart that you may abhor it in all its disguises. Above all, keep yourself unspotted from the world’s puddles; leave the company and the secret places that foster lust. Cry to God to preserve you, and when temptation whispers, flee as Joseph fled, leaving your garment in the hand of the seducer.

The chastening you have felt is not punishment, but the loving rod of a Father. He wounds that He may heal. Do not despair when the keen arrows of conscience pierce you after a stumble; they are sent to draw you to the fountain that cleanses from all sin. And mark this: the truly happy man is not he who has no trouble, but he whose sin is pardoned. Once you know that Christ has borne your guilt, every other sorrow loses its sting. Death itself becomes light. So, with gratitude for the mercy shown, press on. Do not be content with a little improvement; seek to be completely separated from these abominations. As you have been delivered from the archers of guilt, now go forth to fight the monster and tear others from his power by your testimony of God’s grace. The Lord will perfect that which concerneth you; He will not leave you in the pit. Only believe, only cling to Christ, and you shall live to declare the works of the Lord.

You have wept, and I rejoice that the Lord has granted some improvement. But tears alone will not finish the work unless they are joined with a determined will. The sin does not belong to your nature; it is not the flesh that is evil, but the wicked choice that has enslaved the mind. God gave you over to a reprobate mind when you did not retain Him in your knowledge, but now you are turning. Yet you must not merely pray for deliverance while your heart still flirts with the pleasure. You must hate the sin with a perfect hatred.

Do you think Peter’s bitter weeping was mere water? No, it was the rending of his soul, and he went out and forsook the very place of his fall. You ask God to remove these sins forever, but have you yourself removed every occasion, every glance, every idle thought that leads to the flame? The old man is not renewed by prayers only, but by the Spirit in the mind which puts off corruption and puts on the new man, who is created after God in holiness. Crucify the evil thoughts; circumcise not the body, but the wicked imaginations that arise. For worship in spirit and truth means offering a living sacrifice, your very self, not merely groaning while still holding the poison in your hand.

Esau also cried with many tears, but he did not change his purpose, and found no place of repentance. Do not let your weeping be for the pain of shame or fear, but for the offense against the Holy One who has washed you. If you would have lasting deliverance, make war on the sin as you would on a serpent. Deny it every foothold. When the law of sin in your members rises up, drag it captive by the law of your mind. So shall the Spirit of God renew you from within, and the thief will find no house to enter. Take courage: He who has borne the sin of the world is able to keep you from falling. But you must fight.

It is good to hear that you have seen real improvement, and it is right to give all the glory to the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the one who breaks chains. Crying out to Him is never wasted, and your tears are known to the One who stores them in a bottle.

Yet you sense there is still more ground to take, a deeper and lasting freedom. That hunger is itself a sign that the Spirit is at work in you. The battle you describe is not just about behavior; it is a war for your mind and your heart. The truth is, the law of sin and death that once held you in bondage is not stronger than the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus. Sin shall not have dominion over you, because you are not under law but under grace. That is not just a hope; it is a promise to stand on.

The key is not trying harder in your own strength, but learning to live from the victory Christ has already won. His Word tells us to reckon ourselves dead to sin and alive to God. That means when the old desires rise, you speak to them with the authority of the cross. You remind yourself that the old man was crucified with Him so that the body of sin might be rendered powerless. Temptation may knock, but a dead man does not answer the door. This is a posture of faith you take, moment by moment, especially when the pressure comes.

The mind is the battleground. What you feed it and what you allow it to dwell on will shape your desires. The ready availability of pornographic images today is one of the enemy’s chief tools to captivate and enslave the mind. That is why you must be ruthless in guarding your eyes and your thoughts. Flee youthful lusts. Don’t reason with them or linger near them. Run, and run to Christ. As you resist the devil, he will flee from you. And as you choose to rejoice in the Lord’s victory over darkness, the cloud of temptation often lifts.

Beyond fleeing, there is a deeper work of transformation. The steam has to be taken away, not just managed. That happens when you turn everything over completely to Jesus, not just the sin you can’t stop, but your whole self. The place of defeat, where you finally stop trying to fix yourself and abandon yourself to Him, becomes the place of initial victory. It is no longer I, but Christ living in me. He will guide you and make you wise. He will renew your mind as you fill it with His Word.

Understand the difference between sorrow for sin and repentance. Sorrow cries over the mess; repentance turns and walks a different way. God is not looking for you to wallow in shame but to walk in newness of life. And when you stumble, His mercy is there not to excuse continuing in sin but to lift you out of it and set you on your feet again. Never presume on grace by willingly walking into sin, but also never let a fall convince you that you are beyond His reach. His grace is sufficient.

So continue to pray, continue to pour out your heart. But let your prayer be joined with a deliberate, active yielding of your body and mind to God for righteousness. The same members you once offered to impurity, now offer as instruments of holiness. As you do, you will discover that the fruit of shame is being replaced by the fruit of peace and lasting joy.

We are standing with you in prayer. The God who began this work will be faithful to complete it until the day of Christ Jesus. Let your heart take courage. The victory is yours in Him.
