I had problems with pornography, masturbation, flirting (with the opposite sex) and sexual sins... Now there is a great improvement! Let us give all the glory and thanks for this to the Lord Jesus Christ! But there is still a great need for more improvement (lasting and true) for the glory of God! Let us pray for this...Please pray that God will help me and guide me to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from my life and heart, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Let us pray that God will also work, renew my mind, make me very wise, so that these sins will forever be far from me, in the Name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God will show me mercy, speak to me, give me understanding and deliverance. I really prayed and cried a lot...

We rejoice with you in the progress you’ve made, for the Lord is faithful to those who seek Him with a repentant heart. The battles you describe, pornography, masturbation, flirting, and sexual sin, are not merely struggles of the flesh but spiritual warfare, and we stand with you in prayer, knowing that victory is found in Christ alone. Your desire for lasting change and a heart fully surrendered to God is evidence of His work in you, and we give Him all the glory for the transformation already underway.

The Scriptures make it clear that sexual sin is a matter of the heart, not just the body. Jesus warned, "For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, sexual sins, thefts, false testimony, and blasphemies" (Matthew 15:19). These sins do not define you, but they must be uprooted completely, for they grieve the Holy Spirit and hinder your walk with God. The apostle Paul exhorts us, "Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s" (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). This is not a call to mere behavior modification but to a radical surrender of every area of your life to the Lordship of Christ.

We must also address the flirting you mentioned, for it can be a gateway to deeper sin. Proverbs warns, "Can a man scoop fire into his lap without his clothes being burned? Can a man walk on hot coals without his feet being scorched?" (Proverbs 6:27-28). Even seemingly harmless interactions can stir desires that lead to compromise. The Bible calls us to purity in both action and thought: "But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart" (Matthew 5:28). This is not to condemn you but to encourage vigilance, for the enemy seeks to ensnare through small compromises.

Your cry for deliverance is heard, and we join you in praying for complete freedom. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20), and we believe He will answer your prayer for lasting victory. But we must also warn against the deception of thinking you can manage sin on your own. True freedom comes not from willpower but from abiding in Christ. Jesus said, "I am the vine. You are the branches. He who remains in me and I in him bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing" (John 15:5). You must remain connected to Him through prayer, the Word, fellowship with believers, and accountability.

We also encourage you to take practical steps to guard your heart and mind. Job made a covenant with his eyes not to look lustfully at a woman (Job 31:1). Flee temptation, do not linger in its presence. If the internet is a stumbling block, install filters or accountability software. If certain relationships or environments lead you into sin, distance yourself from them. The Bible says, "Bad company corrupts good character" (1 Corinthians 15:33). Surround yourself with godly influences who will encourage you in your walk with Christ.

Let us pray together now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, giving You all the glory for the work You have already done in this dear one’s life. Lord, we ask that You would complete the good work You have begun. Father, we pray for lasting and true transformation, not just outward change but a deep cleansing of the heart, mind, and spirit. Renew this one’s mind by Your Word, that they may no longer conform to the patterns of this world but be transformed by the renewing of their mind, so they may prove what is Your good, acceptable, and perfect will (Romans 12:2).

Lord, we ask for Your deliverance from every chain of sexual sin. Break the power of pornography, masturbation, and flirting that leads to compromise. Set this one free by the power of Your Spirit, for where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom (2 Corinthians 3:17). Father, we pray for wisdom and discernment, that they may recognize the enemy’s schemes and resist him, standing firm in the faith (1 Peter 5:9). Give them the strength to flee temptation and the courage to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5).

We ask, Lord, that You would fill this one with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in purity and holiness. Create in them a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within them (Psalm 51:10). Father, we pray for accountability and godly fellowship, that they would not be isolated in this battle but surrounded by believers who will sharpen and encourage them (Proverbs 27:17). Show them mercy, speak to them through Your Word, and guide them into all truth.

Lord, we also pray for a spouse, if it is Your will, who will be a godly helpmate, one who loves You above all else and will walk in purity alongside them. Prepare their heart for marriage, that it may be a union that honors You and reflects Christ’s love for the Church. Until that time, guard their heart and keep them from any ungodly relationships or emotional attachments that would lead them astray.

We thank You, Father, that You are faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). We declare that this one is more than a conqueror through Christ who loves them (Romans 8:37). May they walk in the victory that is already theirs in Jesus’ name. We pray all these things for Your glory, knowing that You are able to keep them from falling and present them faultless before Your presence with exceeding joy (Jude 1:24).

We’re so thankful with you for the ground you’ve already gained, God is clearly at work, and your tears and prayers are not wasted. We hear the ache for something lasting, not just another round of temporary relief, and that desire itself is a sign the Spirit is deepening your hunger for real freedom.

When we’ve walked alongside others in similar battles, one thing that often makes a difference is seeing that lasting change usually involves more than just resisting the act. It includes slowly letting God rewire the deeper beliefs and emotional patterns that keep pulling us back. That can feel slow, but it’s solid. Finding someone you can trust completely, a mature Christian friend, a pastor, or a small accountability group, can be a lifeline. Hiding the struggle lets it grow; bringing it into safe, loving light drains much of its power. If you haven’t already, you might gently consider a trusted person or a support group where you can be fully honest and prayed for week by week, not just during the crisis moments.

Above all, please know you aren’t shouting into silence. God receives every tear, and He doesn’t despise a broken heart that keeps turning toward Him. Keep bringing your very real need to Him, but also let the truth of who you are in Christ settle deeper than your failures. You are already loved, already held, even as He continues to transform you.

Jesus, we lift up this dear one who longs to be completely free. Thank You for the progress You’ve given; now finish what You’ve begun. Renew their mind in the quiet, ordinary ways, replacing old patterns with Your goodness and truth. Give them courage to reach out for faithful companionship and honest support. Surround them with mercy, and make Your strength perfect in their weakness. We ask for the lasting deliverance they seek, for Your glory and their deep peace. In Your name, Jesus, amen.

Great encouragement may be drawn from the improvement you have experienced, for it is no small token of divine grace when the chains of these sins begin to loosen. Let all the glory indeed be given to the Lord Jesus Christ, who has begun a good work in you. Yet let us not imagine that the battle is over because there is a respite; the foe is driven back but not destroyed, and the victory must be pressed home until every thought is brought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.

You have prayed and wept, and that is right, for sin is no light thing. It is one of the surest marks of a heaven-born soul that it cannot rest in the presence of its own iniquity. But now I would lift your eyes above your tears, beyond your own strugglings, to the full and finished deliverance that is in your Lord. You cry for mercy, and it is already given: for mercy is a fountain ever flowing from the heart of God to the sinner who feels his need. You ask for understanding and wisdom; these He will supply through His Word and Spirit as you wait upon Him. Do not look so much to your own resolutions as to the ransom that has been found. The way of deliverance from these depths was not invented by man; it is the ancient wonder of the Cross. Christ has borne the penalty of all the iniquities of His people, and He has risen to break the power of sin in their hearts. Your sanctification is as much a gift of free grace as your justification. It is not a work to be performed by your own strength, but a life to be lived by union with a living, loving, and lasting Christ. He will not cast you off because you are weak; rather, His strength is perfected in weakness.

But mark this well: deliverance from the power of sin is no mere feeling; it is a complete turning away from the thing itself. You must not think that a little dalliance with these evils can ever be safe. When lust has conceived, it brings forth sin; and sin, when it is finished, brings forth death. Flee from the very borders of the temptation. Make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts. If your eye offends, pluck it out; that is to say, use the most severe measures to cut off occasions for sin. Are there books, images, companions, idle moments that lead you into mischief? Away with them! Better to enter into life halt or maimed than to be cast into the fire. The world’s current flows ever downward, and if you permit yourself to drift with it even a little, you will soon be carried far from your hope. Be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.

Yet let not this earnest counsel discourage you. The very desire to be wholly freed from sin is the finger of God upon your soul. The set time for your deliverance has come, for the clock of mercy struck when you first cried out from the pit. He who brought forth Israel with silver and gold, and caused them to march from bondage with songs of deliverance, will also bring you forth. He makes His people willing in the day of His power, and He works in them both to will and to do of His good pleasure. Wait upon Him by daily prayer, searching the Scriptures, and keeping close to the means of grace. When you come to His table, do not let it become a formal ritual; let it be a fresh meeting with the Bridegroom of your soul, who has cleansed you with His own blood.

Remember, too, that your deliverance, when it is fully accomplished, will be for the glory of God and for a testimony to others. “I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.” The very troubles out of which you are being rescued shall furnish you with a song which none can sing but yourself. Tell of His mercy to your own heart, and to others who are in like chains. Speak to them at the well-gate of Ebenezer, saying, “Hitherto the Lord has helped me; and He will help you also.”

Do not look for a sudden perfection, but press onward. The path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day. You have a living, loving, lasting union with Christ, cling to it! You are not your own; you are bought with a price. Therefore, glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are His. May the Lord Jesus speak peace to your conscience, and may the Holy Spirit so fill you with the love and likeness of Christ that these sins shall be as dead things beneath your feet, forever far from you.

You have cried to the Lord, and He has shown you mercy. The improvement you see is His doing; give Him the glory. Yet you still cry out for complete deliverance, and rightly so, for to be half-healed is not to be healed at all. A soldier who flees one battle only to fall in the next gains no victory. You must press on until every lust is cast out and your heart becomes a clean dwelling for the Spirit.

You have sought the Lord as one searches for lost gold, with tears, with prayers, with much labor. Do not stop now. The enemy does not retreat at the first blow; he returns with greater fury when he sees his prey slipping away. You must be renewed in the spirit of your mind. This is not a matter of outward rules or a mere scrubbing of the outside of the cup while the inside remains foul. That was the righteousness of the Pharisees, a shadow, not the truth. True holiness springs from a mind transformed, hating the sin because it offends the God you love. Pray not only for deliverance, but for a new hatred of these things, so they become to you as filth you cannot stand.

Consider what gain these pleasures bring you. They make you a slave, a slave to your eyes, to your body, to fleeting shadows. And what do they steal? They cast you out of God's service, darken your mind, and rob you of that sweet peace which is found only in purity. You cannot serve two masters. If you cling to these sins, you push away the very hand that would save you.

Yet do not be consumed by fear. The angel told Joseph, “Fear not,” when he thought to put away Mary, lest he offend God. So I tell you: do not let the shame of your struggle drive you to despair. God is not a harsh judge waiting to destroy you; He delights in your salvation. But this mercy must not make you idle. You ask what you must do. Here it is plainly: cut off every occasion of sin. Does your eye cause you to stumble? Pluck it out, stop looking. Do idle hours entice you? Fill them with prayer, with labor, with the reading of Scripture. Flee from the company and the images that inflame you. This is war, and in war there is no truce with the enemy.

Remember that without holiness no one will see the Lord. This is no light word. But if you truly desire freedom, if you wage this war with the weapons He has given, fasting, tears, the word of God, and a firm resolve, then He will fight beside you. The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your heart and mind. That peace is worth more than a thousand fleeting moments of so-called pleasure.

I will pray with you, and the whole church prays, that you may be completely delivered, for the glory of God. But rise up and do your part. Do not only weep; act. Bind your wounds with the medicine of a changed life. He who began a good work in you will complete it if you do not grow weary. Press forward, and soon you will stand on solid rock, singing the song of the redeemed.

It brings joy to hear of the improvement you have seen. Every step away from those things is a gift of grace, and giving glory to the Lord Jesus Christ is exactly the right response. Your tears and prayers have not been unnoticed by Him.

Yet you have touched on something crucial that many miss. You now see more clearly that the battle runs deeper than outward actions. Before we truly understand God’s law, we may think only the completed act is sin. But as the Spirit works, He shows us that the strong inner desire, the lust itself, is what defiles. This discovery is not meant to crush you but to wean you off any hope in mere self-reform. The law reveals the depth of the problem so we will stop trying to fix a broken nature by our own resolutions.

The struggle you describe is the very one described in Scripture when a person cries out that with the mind they serve the law of God, but in the flesh they find another principle pulling them toward the law of sin. Notice that the heart has already changed. Your mind now desires what is right, and God looks at the mind and heart. When you find yourself in this painful inner war, do not fall for the lie that you are not genuinely saved. The anguish itself shows you have been made alive. The cry of "wretched man that I am" comes from someone who knows deliverance is found only in Jesus Christ. There is no condemnation for those who are in Him.

The promise is sure: sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace. This does not mean you will never face another wrong thought or impulse. It does mean that the old master has been dethroned. You no longer have to obey. When you were a servant of sin, you were free from righteousness. Now, as one alive in Christ, you are free to yield your body to God for His purposes. The battle is waged in the mind. The flesh tries to captivate your thoughts, especially through what you see and entertain. But you have the mind of the Spirit, bringing life and peace.

Practically, this means you keep giving your body to God. You do whatever it takes to cut off access to those old channels of defeat. But even more, you let the Spirit renew your mind. The death of Christ paid the price for every sin. Unconfessed sin breaks fellowship and allows the enemy to bring trouble and defeat, but confessed sin brings the cleansing that restores joy. Your real sin, like every person's, is ultimately against God, and only He can forgive it. In His mercy, He does. The joy of knowing your sin is covered, that the horrible weight is lifted, is a relief beyond words.

Continue to ask for wisdom and deliverance. But walk in the truth that you have already been freed from the tyranny of sin. Yield your mind to the Spirit, not to the alluring images or thoughts of the flesh. When you miss the mark, even while trying hard not to, remember that Christ our Passover has been sacrificed. The sin offering has been made. Let deliverance flow, not by trying harder in your own strength, but by reckoning yourself truly dead to sin and alive to God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
