Beloved of All
I had problems with pornography, masturbation, flirting (with the opposite sex) and sexual sins... Now there is a great improvement! Let us give all the glory and thanks for this to the Lord Jesus Christ! But there is still a great need for more improvement (lasting and true) for the glory of God! Let us pray for this...Please pray that God will help me and guide me to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from my life and heart, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Let us pray that God will also work, renew my mind, make me very wise, so that these sins will forever be far from me, in the Name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God will show me mercy, speak to me, give me understanding and deliverance. I really prayed and cried a lot...😭

We rejoice with you in the progress the Lord has already brought into your life! Your heartfelt cries and prayers have not gone unnoticed, and we see the sincerity of your desire to walk in purity and holiness before God. The battle against sexual sin, whether pornography, masturbation, or flirtation outside of godly boundaries, is a fierce one, but it is not one you must fight alone. Scripture assures us, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" (1 Corinthians 10:13). The Lord has already provided the escape; now we must walk in it by His strength.

First, we must address the root of these struggles. Sexual sin is not merely a physical act but a heart issue. Jesus warned, "For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, sexual sins, thefts, false testimony, and blasphemies" (Matthew 15:19). The lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life (1 John 2:16) often fuel these temptations. To experience lasting victory, we must crucify these desires daily and replace them with a hunger for righteousness. "For if you live after the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live" (Romans 8:13). This is not a one-time battle but a daily surrender to the Holy Spirit’s work in you.

We also recognize that flirtation with the opposite sex outside the bounds of godly marriage can be a stumbling block. Scripture is clear: "But I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart" (Matthew 5:28). Even seemingly harmless interactions can lead to temptation if not guarded by godly wisdom. If you are not yet married, we encourage you to pursue relationships with the opposite sex only with the intent of godly courtship, seeking a spouse who shares your faith and commitment to Christ. "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14). Marriage is a sacred covenant, and any relationship leading to it should honor God in every way.

Now, let us come before the Lord together in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One who died to break the power of sin and shame in our lives. We thank You for the work You have already begun in [this brother/sister’s] life, and we ask that You complete it according to Your perfect will. Lord, we confess that sexual sin, whether in thought, word, or deed, is an offense against Your holiness. We repent on behalf of [this brother/sister] and ask for Your forgiveness and cleansing. "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9).

Father, we ask that You break every chain of addiction, every stronghold of lust, and every lie that says these sins cannot be overcome. Your Word declares, "So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed" (John 8:36). We claim that freedom in Jesus’ name! Renew [this brother/sister’s] mind daily with Your truth. "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God" (Romans 12:2). Fill [him/her] with Your Holy Spirit, that [he/she] may walk in purity and self-control.

Lord, we pray for wisdom and discernment. Show [him/her] the triggers and patterns that lead to temptation, and grant [him/her] the strength to flee from them. "Flee sexual immorality! ā€˜Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body" (1 Corinthians 6:18). Surround [him/her] with godly accountability, believers who will pray, encourage, and hold [him/her] to Your standards. "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up" (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10).

Father, we also ask that You guard [his/her] heart and eyes. "I have made a covenant with my eyes. How then should I look lustfully at a young woman?" (Job 31:1). Let [him/her] fix [his/her] gaze on You, the Author and Perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). Fill [him/her] with a passion for Your Word, Your presence, and Your purposes. Let [him/her] find satisfaction in You alone, for "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled" (Matthew 5:6).

Finally, Lord, we ask that You prepare [him/her] for godly marriage, if that is Your will. Let [him/her] seek a spouse who loves You above all else, one who will walk in purity and holiness alongside [him/her]. Until that time, may [he/she] honor You with [his/her] body, knowing that "your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God. You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s" (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).

We declare victory over these sins in Jesus’ name! We rebuke every spirit of lust, addiction, and shame, and we command them to flee in the authority of Christ. We thank You, Father, for Your mercy, Your grace, and Your power to transform lives. May [this brother/sister] walk in the freedom You have purchased for [him/her], bringing glory to Your name in all things. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to immerse yourself in Scripture daily, for it is the sword of the Spirit (Ephesians 6:17) that will cut through the lies of the enemy. Memorize verses that speak to purity and victory, such as Psalm 51:10, "Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me." Surround yourself with godly influences, music, books, and fellowship, that point you to Christ. And remember, the battle is won not by your strength but by His. "Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the Lord of Hosts" (Zechariah 4:6).

You are not defined by your past sins but by the righteousness of Christ. Keep pressing into Him, and He will lead you into lasting freedom. We stand with you in this fight, believing that God will complete the good work He has started in you (Philippians 1:6).

We join you in thanking the Lord Jesus for the progress you've seen, that's real, and it's worth celebrating. The tears you've shed haven't gone unnoticed; He knows exactly how much you long to honor Him completely.

When we've wrestled with habits like these, a breakthrough isn't usually a single moment but a steady, daily walk. You've tasted freedom, and you want it to be lasting. We're right there with you. One of the most practical, powerful things you can do now is to bring this into the light with another trusted Christian man, someone mature and safe who will check in with you regularly, pray with you, and help you spot patterns you might miss on your own. Isolation fuels the struggle; honest fellowship weakens it. If you haven't already, consider a confidential support group for men battling pornography or sexual sin. Many churches host them, and places like Celebrate Recovery offer a space where you won't have to explain yourself because they already understand.

You also mentioned wanting God to renew your mind and make you wise. That happens as you intentionally replace old thought loops with truth. Even a few minutes of memorizing and meditating on a verse each day, not just reading, but carrying it with you, can slowly rewire those deep ruts. It's not flashy, but it's how transformation takes root.

And if, despite your best efforts, you still feel powerless to stop, don't hesitate to reach out to a Christian counselor who understands sexual addiction. That's not weakness; it's wise surrender.

Let's pray:

Lord Jesus, we lift up our brother, who has fought hard and cried out to You. Thank You for the freedom he's already walking in. Strengthen him now. Renew his mind with Your truth and make wisdom his companion. Surround him with people who will fight for his purity and speak courage into his soul. Lead him to whatever steps are needed for lasting change. In Your mercy, finish what You've started. We trust You. Amen.

You have been crying out, and the Lord has heard you. Do you think those tears fell unnoticed? Not one of them missed His eye. When a soul begins to loathe the sin it once loved, and when it turns with a desperate grip toward Christ, that is not the work of the flesh, that is the finger of God. The very fact that you are fighting, that you have seen improvement, that you long to be rid of these things forever, is a token for good. A dead fish floats downstream; it takes life to swim against the current. So take heart: you are not in the grip of the enemy as one who is his slave. That chain is broken.

You say there is still a great need for more improvement, and you are right. The threshing-floor is not yet swept clean; the flail still falls upon the wheat to separate the precious from the vile. That is your present portion, and it is a sign that you belong to the Husbandman. He does not thresh the weeds, He burns them. But the wheat He bruises that it may be fit for His own table. So do not think that the persistence of the battle means that you are lost. No, it means you are His.

I want you to lift your eyes from the struggle itself to the One who has already won the victory. Jesus Christ took those very sins, yes, and all your sin, and bore them in His own body on the tree. He entered the darkness to bring you out. And now, because He lives, sin shall not have dominion over you. It may shout, it may knock at the door, it may even thrust its foot inside the threshold at times, but it shall not sit on the throne of your heart. Why? Because you are not under law, but under grace. The law says, ā€œDo this and live,ā€ and it drives a man to despair because he cannot. But grace says, ā€œChrist has done it all, and you are accepted in Him.ā€ That is the power that breaks the back of sin, not your own grit, not your tears, though they are precious, but the finished work of the Lord Jesus.

And yet, as you know, God uses means. The bow must be drawn, the arrow must be aimed, but the hands of the archer alone cannot make the shot fly true. It is the Lord’s hand laid upon your hand that gives the arrow its force. He works in you to will and to do of His good pleasure. So when you flee temptation, when you turn your eyes away, when you cry out in the moment of crisis, ā€œLord, help me!ā€ you are not working alone, the mighty God is working with you. And what He begins, He will finish. He has never yet been known to leave a soul half-delivered. The same love that drew you out of the pit will not abandon you on the edge of it. He will show you mercy, He will speak to you, He will give you understanding, and He will deliver you.

Sometimes we think deliverance must come in a single stroke, like a thunderbolt from the sky. And sometimes it does, and blessed be His name for it. But more often, it comes like the dawn, first a grey light, then a little more, then the full radiance of noon. You are in the dawning, dear heart. Be not dismayed that the shadows still cling in the corners. The sun is up, and the darkness will flee.

I would bid you now to do what you have already begun: give glory to the Lord Jesus Christ for every inch of ground you have gained. Say openly, ā€œI shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord.ā€ Let faith have a tongue. Speak of His goodness, not of your wretchedness. Drag that unbelief out and muzzle it, for it does you no good. Instead, sing the praises of Him who has begun a good work in you. The more you magnify Him, the smaller your sin will seem, and the more your soul will rise to the liberty of the children of God.

Now let us pray, and let the cry of your heart go up to the throne once more, but let it mingle with confidence.

Lord Jesus, we bless You for the victory already won. We give You all the glory and thanks, for You alone have wrought the improvement this soul has seen. And now, O mighty Redeemer, press the battle to the gate! Renew the mind, make it wise with Your own wisdom, so that sin may find no lodging place. Let Your precious blood be a wall of fire round about this dear one. Speak peace to the storm, and let the feet that have slipped find firm ground in Your finished work. We ask not for a partial deliverance, but for a full and lasting one, to the praise of the glory of Your grace. Into Your hands we commit this spirit, knowing that You are able to keep from falling and to present us faultless before the presence of Your glory with exceeding joy. Amen.

The tears you have shed and the improvement you see are tokens of God’s mercy, and rightly you give glory to Christ. Yet do not imagine that the war is won because the enemy has retreated for a moment. The lust that defiles the body and the mind is not extinguished by indulging it a little less, nor by merely wishing it gone. You must learn to draw off the desire entirely, not feed it with new occasions of sin. For if a man had an absurd wish to fly, you would not help him by giving him wings of wax but by convincing his mind that the thing is impossible. So with this fire: adding more fuel, flirting, looking with curiosity, entertaining the thoughts, makes it rage the more. The only way to quench it is to starve it, to turn the mind elsewhere, and to convince the soul that these pleasures are not only forbidden but ultimately tyrants that leave the heart more empty and wounded than before.

Do not think that you can become pure by your own strength. The renewal you need is ā€œin the spirit of your mind,ā€ a work of the Holy Spirit that makes the same person new, not by giving you a different nature but by transforming your affections and thoughts. Cry out to God for this, but do not make your prayer a substitute for action. The grace of Christ will not carry you while you are sleeping; it strengthens those who strive. When the temptation comes, say to your soul, ā€œWhat are you desiring? A shadow, a sting, a brief madness that leaves behind shame and groaning.ā€ The theatre of immorality gives a delight that lasts an hour and then pains worse than any sting; but purity of heart, the peace of a sober mind, remains forever sweet. You have tasted the bitterness of sin; now taste the joy of self-mastery. That joy is found not in thinking highly of your own progress, but in lowliness of mind, a sober, healthful spirit that does not trust itself but leans wholly on God.

Therefore, flee from every occasion that sets the fire ablaze. Avoid the glances, the idle words, the company that flatters the flesh. Fill your mind with spiritual songs and with the beauty of Christ’s commandments. And when you have fallen or felt the pull, do not despair, for the Lord does not promise instant deliverance from all struggle, but He gives something greater: strength to despise the sin and to rise again, fixing your hope on the immortal crown. He has stretched out His hand, He has poured His Spirit into our hearts. Stand firm, and do not be troubled, for the same grace that forgave your sins will discipline your flesh if you submit to it daily. Pray, yes, but also act: cut off the right hand of opportunity, and let the mind dwell on things above. The mercy you seek will meet you in the battle, not in the pillow of ease.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!
