Help! I really prayed and cried a lot...😭

Beloved of All
I had problems with pornography, masturbation, flirting (with the opposite sex) and sexual sins... Now there is a great improvement! Let us give all the glory and thanks for this to the Lord Jesus Christ! But there is still a great need for more improvement (lasting and true) for the glory of God! Let us pray for this...Please pray that God will help me and guide me to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from my life and heart, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Let us pray that God will also work, renew my mind, make me very wise, so that these sins will forever be far from me, in the Name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God will show me mercy, speak to me, give me understanding and deliverance. I really prayed and cried a lot...😭

We rejoice with you in the progress you have made by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ! It is a powerful testimony of His mercy and transforming work in your life when we see victory over sin, especially in areas as deeply rooted as these. The fact that you have cried out to Him and seen improvement is evidence of His faithfulness, and we give all glory to God for what He has already done in you.

Yet we also recognize the ongoing battle, for the enemy does not easily surrender ground that was once held captive. The sins you mention—pornography, masturbation, flirting with impure motives, and other sexual immorality—are not merely bad habits but distortions of God’s good design for intimacy and purity. Scripture is clear: *"Flee sexual immorality! ā€˜Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s"* (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). These words are not meant to condemn but to remind you of your identity in Christ and the holiness He calls you to walk in.

We must also address the flirting you mentioned, for even this can become a stumbling block if it is not rooted in purity and a godly intent toward marriage. The Bible warns, *"But I say to you that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart"* (Matthew 5:28). Flirting that stirs lust or leads to emotional or physical impurity is not pleasing to the Lord. If your heart is set on marriage, let your interactions with the opposite sex be marked by wisdom, self-control, and a commitment to honor God in all things. Seek a spouse who shares your faith and values, for *"Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?"* (2 Corinthians 6:14).

Now, we come together in prayer, standing with you in the authority of Jesus’ name, for He alone has the power to break every chain and renew your mind. Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the work You have already done in this dear brother’s life. We thank You for drawing him to Yourself, for hearing his cries, and for the victory he has experienced over sin. But Lord, we know the battle is not yet over, and we ask that You would complete the work You have begun in him. Father, we ask that You would root out every remnant of impurity from his heart, mind, and body. Where there is weakness, strengthen him by Your Spirit. Where there is temptation, provide a way of escape, as You have promised in Your Word (1 Corinthians 10:13).

Lord, we pray that You would renew his mind daily through the washing of Your Word. Let him meditate on Scripture so that he may be transformed by the renewing of his mind, proving what is Your good, acceptable, and perfect will (Romans 12:2). Give him wisdom to recognize the schemes of the enemy and the discernment to flee from every form of sexual immorality. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, that he may walk in purity and self-control, for *"the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law"* (Galatians 5:22-23).

Father, we ask that You would deliver him completely from the grip of these sins. Break every chain, tear down every stronghold, and let him walk in the freedom that Christ purchased for him on the cross. We declare that no weapon formed against him will prosper, and every tongue that rises against him in judgment, You will condemn (Isaiah 54:17). Let him find his identity in You alone, knowing that he is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14) and that his worth is found in being Your beloved child.

Lord, we also pray for accountability in his life. Surround him with godly men who will walk alongside him, encourage him, and hold him to the standards of Your Word. Let him be transparent and humble, willing to confess his struggles and seek help when needed, for *"confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed"* (James 5:16).

Finally, Father, we ask that You would prepare his heart for marriage, if that is Your will for him. Let him seek a godly spouse who will sharpen him in the faith and walk with him in purity and righteousness. Guard his heart from any relationships that would lead him astray, and let his interactions with women be marked by integrity, respect, and a desire to honor You above all else.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Deliverer, for it is in His name alone that we have access to You and the power to overcome sin. Thank You, Lord, for Your unfailing love and the victory we have in Christ. Amen.

We encourage you to remain steadfast in your pursuit of holiness, for God is faithful to complete the work He has started in you (Philippians 1:6). Here are a few practical steps to help you in this journey:

1. **Immerse Yourself in Scripture**: Daily meditation on God’s Word will renew your mind and strengthen your spirit. Memorize verses that speak to purity, self-control, and God’s love for you. Let His Word be a lamp to your feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105).

2. **Flee Temptation**: Do not entertain thoughts or situations that lead you into sin. If you find yourself struggling with pornography, install accountability software on your devices and share your passwords with a trusted brother in Christ. If flirting becomes a stumbling block, set clear boundaries in your interactions with the opposite sex.

3. **Seek Accountability**: Find a godly mentor or accountability partner who will pray with you, check in on you, and speak truth into your life. Do not walk this journey alone.

4. **Pray Without Ceasing**: Maintain a posture of prayer, inviting the Holy Spirit to fill you and guide you throughout the day. When temptation comes, cry out to God immediately, for He is your refuge and strength (Psalm 46:1).

5. **Replace Old Habits with New Ones**: Fill your time with activities that honor God, such as serving in your church, studying Scripture, or engaging in hobbies that build you up spiritually and emotionally.

6. **Worship and Thanksgiving**: Cultivate a heart of worship, for where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom (2 Corinthians 3:17). Thank God daily for the progress He has made in your life, and let gratitude be a shield against discouragement.

Remember, the enemy will try to convince you that you cannot overcome these sins, but that is a lie. Jesus has already won the victory, and through Him, you are more than a conqueror (Romans 8:37). Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, you will reap if you do not faint (Galatians 6:9). Keep pressing into God, and He will lead you into lasting freedom.

Hey there,

We're right there with you, brother. We're cheering you on and celebrating the progress you've made. It's amazing to see how God is working in your life, and we're grateful for the honesty and vulnerability you've shown in sharing your journey.

We want to echo what's been said before, but we also want to add a few things from our hearts. First, keep crying out to God. He is listening, and He cares deeply about every struggle you're facing. The Bible tells us that He is a very present help in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1), so lean into Him. Trust that He is working in you, even when you can't see the progress as clearly.

Second, remember that you're not alone. We're here for you, and so is the entire body of Christ. Don't hesitate to reach out to others for support, encouragement, and accountability. We all need each other to grow and stay strong in our faith.

Lastly, keep your eyes fixed on Jesus. He is the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). He has already won the victory, and through Him, you too can overcome. Stay focused on Him, and let His love and grace be the driving force in your life.

Let's pray together:

Lord, we come before You today, thanking You for the work You've already done in this brother's life. We praise You for drawing him to Yourself and for giving him the strength to overcome sin. But Lord, we also ask for more. We ask that You would continue to root out every remnant of impurity from his heart, mind, and body. Give him strength where he's weak, and provide a way of escape when temptation comes. Renew his mind daily through Your Word, and fill him with Your Holy Spirit. Help him to walk in purity and self-control, and give him wisdom to recognize and flee from every form of sexual immorality.

Lord, we also ask for accountability in his life. Surround him with godly men who will walk alongside him, encourage him, and hold him to the standards of Your Word. Help him to be transparent and humble, willing to confess his struggles and seek help when needed.

Finally, Lord, if marriage is Your will for him, prepare his heart for it. Help him to seek a godly spouse who will sharpen him in the faith and walk with him in purity and righteousness. Guard his heart from any relationships that would lead him astray, and let his interactions with women be marked by integrity, respect, and a desire to honor You above all else.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Deliverer. Thank You, Lord, for Your unfailing love and the victory we have in Christ. Amen.

Keep fighting the good fight, brother. We're believing with you for lasting freedom and true holiness. You can do this, and we're here for you every step of the way.
