Help! I really prayed and cried a lot...😭

Beloved of All
I had problems with pornography, masturbation, flirting (with the opposite sex) and sexual sins... Now there is a great improvement! Let us give all the glory and thanks for this to the Lord Jesus Christ! But there is still a great need for more improvement (lasting and true) for the glory of God! Let us pray for this...Please pray that God will help me and guide me to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from my life and heart, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Let us pray that God will also work, renew my mind, make me very wise, so that these sins will forever be far from me, in the Name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God will show me mercy, speak to me, give me understanding and deliverance. I really prayed and cried a lot...😭

We rejoice with you in the progress you’ve made by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ! It is clear that the Holy Spirit has been at work in your life, convicting you of sin and drawing you closer to God’s perfect will. Your desire to turn away from these struggles and live in purity is evidence of His transforming power. We stand with you in prayer, asking the Father to complete the good work He has begun in you.

The sins you mentioned—pornography, masturbation, flirting with impure motives, and other sexual immorality—are not merely personal failures but offenses against God’s holy design for human sexuality. The Bible is clear that sexual purity is not optional for believers. In 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5, we read, *"For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to control his own body in sanctification and honor, not in the passion of lust, even as the Gentiles who don’t know God."* These struggles are common in a world that celebrates impurity, but as followers of Christ, we are called to live differently. Romans 12:2 reminds us, *"Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God."*

We must also address the root of these sins. Often, they stem from deeper issues such as loneliness, idleness, unmet emotional needs, or a lack of accountability. Proverbs 4:23 warns, *"Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life."* If your heart is not guarded, sin will find a foothold. We encourage you to examine your life for any areas where you may be compromising—whether it’s the media you consume, the company you keep, or the thoughts you entertain. Psalm 101:3 says, *"I will set no wicked thing before my eyes. I hate the work of those who turn aside. It shall not cling to me."*

Accountability is essential in this battle. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 tells us, *"Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up."* Seek out a trusted, mature believer—preferably someone of the same sex—with whom you can share your struggles and who will pray for you and hold you accountable. Confess your sins to one another, as James 5:16 instructs, *"Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective."*

Renewing your mind is another critical step. Fill your thoughts with God’s Word and meditate on it day and night (Joshua 1:8). Memorize scriptures that speak to your struggle, such as 1 Corinthians 10:13: *"No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."* When temptation comes, flee from it as Joseph did in Genesis 39:12, and replace those thoughts with prayer and worship.

We also want to encourage you to fill your life with godly pursuits. Idleness can be a breeding ground for sin, so engage in activities that honor God—serve in your church, spend time in prayer and fasting, study the Bible, and cultivate godly friendships. Colossians 3:17 says, *"Whatever you do, in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father, through him."*

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the work You have already done in this dear one’s life. We thank You for Your mercy and grace that have brought them this far. Lord, we ask that You would complete the work You have started. Strengthen them in their inner being, that they may stand firm against temptation. Renew their mind, Father, and fill them with Your truth so that every lie of the enemy is exposed and cast down. Give them wisdom to recognize the triggers that lead to sin and the courage to flee from them.

We pray for a hedge of protection around their heart, mind, and eyes, that they would not be led astray by the things of this world. Surround them with godly friends and mentors who will encourage them in their walk with You. Father, we ask that You would fill every void in their life with Your presence, so they are not tempted to seek fulfillment in sinful ways. Teach them to delight in You, that they may find their satisfaction in You alone.

Lord, we rebuke every spirit of lust, addiction, and perversion in the name of Jesus Christ. We declare that this one is no longer a slave to sin but a child of God, set free by the blood of Jesus. Break every chain, Father, and set them free indeed. Help them to walk in purity, not just outwardly but in the depths of their heart. May their life bring glory to Your name and be a testimony to Your transforming power.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can be saved and the only name through which we have access to You. It is by His blood that we are cleansed, by His resurrection that we are made new, and by His Spirit that we are empowered to live holy lives. May this one grow in the knowledge and love of Christ, and may their life reflect Your holiness. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Continue to press into God, dear one. Your progress is evidence of His faithfulness, and He will not abandon you. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). The battle may be fierce, but the victory is already won through Christ. Walk in the freedom He has purchased for you, and do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, you will reap if you do not faint (Galatians 6:9).

We're right there with you, brother. It's encouraging to see the progress you've made, and we're cheering you on every step of the way. We know that the struggle is real, but the victory is sure in Jesus Christ.

Let's pray together:

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today, thanking You for the strength and courage You've given our ### to fight against these temptations. We ask that You would continue to fill him with Your Holy Spirit, giving him the power to resist sin and live a life pleasing to You.

We pray for complete deliverance from pornography, masturbation, and any form of sexual immorality. We ask that You would remove these temptations from his path and replace them with pure thoughts and holy desires. Help him to flee from temptation and run towards You, Lord.

We also pray for wisdom and understanding. Help him to know the root causes of these temptations and give him the strength to address them. We ask that You would surround him with godly friends and mentors who can encourage him and hold him accountable.

We claim the promise of 1 Corinthians 10:13, that no temptation has taken him except what is common to man, and that You are faithful who will not allow him to be tempted above what he is able, but with the temptation also make the way of escape, that he may be able to bear it.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen."

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
