Help! I really prayed and cried a lot...😭

Beloved of All
I had problems with pornography, masturbation, flirting (with the opposite sex) and sexual sins... Now there is a great improvement! Let us give all the glory and thanks for this to the Lord Jesus Christ! But there is still a great need for more improvement (lasting and true) for the glory of God! Let us pray for this...Please pray that God will help me and guide me to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from my life and heart, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Let us pray that God will also work, renew my mind, make me very wise, so that these sins will forever be far from me, in the Name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God will show me mercy, speak to me, give me understanding and deliverance. I really prayed and cried a lot...😭

We rejoice with you in the progress the Lord has already brought into your life, breaking the chains of pornography, masturbation, flirting, and other sexual sins. Your recognition of Jesus Christ as the source of this victory is the foundation of true and lasting change. As it is written in 1 Corinthians 10:13, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." The Lord has already provided a way out, and He will continue to do so as you seek Him with all your heart.

Yet we must address these struggles with the full truth of Scripture. The sins you mention—pornography, masturbation, and inappropriate flirting—are forms of sexual immorality, which God’s Word clearly condemns. In 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5, we read, "For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to control his own body in sanctification and honor, not in the passion of lust, even as the Gentiles who don’t know God." These are not minor issues but matters that grieve the Holy Spirit and hinder your walk with Christ. We must not downplay them but rather confront them with the full weight of God’s holiness.

Your desire for lasting victory is commendable, and we stand with you in prayer, asking the Lord to root out every remnant of these sins from your heart and mind. But we must also warn against the subtle deception of thinking that mere willpower or self-effort can bring true freedom. Jesus said in John 15:5, "I am the vine. You are the branches. He who remains in me, and I in him, the same bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing." Victory comes not by your strength but by abiding in Christ, surrendering daily to His Spirit, and allowing Him to transform you from the inside out.

We also urge you to guard your heart against the flirting and emotional attachments that can lead to further temptation. Proverbs 4:23 warns, "Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life." These seemingly small compromises can open doors to greater sin. If you are not yet married, we encourage you to pursue godly relationships with the intent of finding a spouse who shares your faith, rather than indulging in emotional or physical intimacy outside of marriage. If you are married, we pray for your marriage to be strengthened and for you to honor your covenant before God.

Let us pray together now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the work You have already done in breaking the chains of sexual sin in this brother’s life. We thank You for Your mercy and grace, which have brought him this far. Lord, we ask that You would complete the work You have begun in him. Renew his mind daily through Your Word, that he may no longer be conformed to the patterns of this world but transformed by the renewing of his mind, as Romans 12:2 declares.

Father, we ask that You would fill him with Your Holy Spirit, giving him the power to resist temptation and flee from sexual immorality. Help him to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ, as 2 Corinthians 10:5 instructs. Lord, we pray that You would heal any wounds or brokenness in his heart that may have contributed to these struggles. Restore his purity and give him a deep hunger for holiness.

We also ask that You would guide him in his relationships. If he is single, prepare him for a godly marriage, and if he is married, strengthen his commitment to his spouse. Protect him from the lies of the enemy, who seeks to ensnare him in sin. Surround him with fellow believers who will encourage and hold him accountable.

Lord, we declare that no weapon formed against him will prosper, and every tongue that rises against him in judgment, he will condemn, for this is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, as Isaiah 54:17 promises. We thank You for Your faithfulness and ask that You would lead him into complete freedom, for Your glory and his good. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

Continue to seek the Lord with all your heart, immersing yourself in His Word and in fellowship with other believers. Accountability is a powerful tool in the fight against sin, so we encourage you to find a trusted brother in Christ who can walk with you in this journey. Remember, the battle is not yours alone but the Lord’s, and He has already won the victory through the cross. Stand firm in His strength, and do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, you will reap if you do not faint (Galatians 6:9).

We're right there with you, brother, cheering you on every step of the way. We're so glad to see the progress you've made, and we're believing with you for complete freedom. Let's keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2).

We want to encourage you to keep seeking God's face, spending time in His Word, and in prayer. As you do, He'll continue to reveal areas in your heart that need His touch. Remember, it's not just about stopping the sin, but also about healing the heart. As Psalm 147:3 tells us, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds."

Let's also be mindful of the company we keep. Surround yourself with people who will speak truth into your life, encourage you, and hold you accountable. Accountability is a powerful tool in our walk with Christ.

###, we're praying for you. We're asking God to fill you with His Holy Spirit, giving you the power to resist temptation. We're asking Him to heal any wounds in your heart and to restore your purity. We're claiming His promise in 2 Corinthians 3:18, "But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord."

Keep fighting the good fight, brother. We're in this together, and we're believing with you for complete freedom in Jesus' name.
