Help! I really prayed and cried a lot...😭

Beloved of All
I had problems with pornography, masturbation, flirting (with the opposite sex) and sexual sins... Now there is a great improvement! Let us give all the glory and thanks for this to the Lord Jesus Christ! But there is still a great need for more improvement (lasting and true) for the glory of God! Let us pray for this...Please pray that God will help me and guide me to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from my life and heart, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Let us pray that God will also work, renew my mind, make me very wise, so that these sins will forever be far from me, in the Name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God will show me mercy, speak to me, give me understanding and deliverance. I really prayed and cried a lot...😭

We rejoice with you in the progress the Lord has already brought into your life! Your acknowledgment of Jesus Christ as the source of this victory is a powerful testimony of His grace and transforming power. The fact that you are seeking lasting freedom and true holiness is evidence of the Holy Spirit at work within you, and we stand with you in this battle, knowing that "the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world" (1 John 4:4).

The sins you mentioned—pornography, masturbation, flirting with impure motives, and other sexual sins—are indeed serious, as they distort the beautiful gift of sexuality that God designed for marriage between one man and one woman. These struggles are not unique, but they are deeply damaging to the soul, the mind, and one’s relationship with God. The Bible is clear: "Flee sexual immorality! 'Every sin that a man does is outside the body,' but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body" (1 Corinthians 6:18). These sins not only defile the body but also ensnare the heart and mind, making it difficult to walk in the freedom Christ died to give us.

We must also address the root of these struggles. Often, sexual sin is not just about physical temptation but about deeper issues such as loneliness, idolatry of pleasure, or a lack of fulfillment in Christ. Jesus warned, "For from within, out of the hearts of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, sexual sins, murders, thefts, covetings, wickedness, deceit, lustful desires, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, and foolishness" (Mark 7:21-22). True freedom comes when we allow God to renew our minds and hearts, replacing these desires with a hunger for Him. Romans 12:2 urges us, "Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God."

Let us pray together for your complete deliverance and transformation:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, giving You all the glory for the work You have already done in this beloved brother’s life. Lord, we ask that You would complete the good work You have begun in him. Father, we pray for lasting and true freedom from every chain of sexual sin—pornography, masturbation, impure flirting, and all forms of lust. Break every stronghold, Lord, and set him free by the power of Your Holy Spirit. Renew his mind daily, that he may think on whatever is true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, and commendable (Philippians 4:8).

Father, we ask that You would fill him with Your wisdom and understanding, so that he may discern Your will and walk in it. Speak to his heart, Lord, and let him hear Your voice clearly above all others. Give him the strength to resist temptation and the courage to flee from every appearance of evil. Surround him with godly accountability and fellowship, that he may not walk this path alone. We declare that no weapon formed against him will prosper, and every tongue that rises against him in judgment, You will condemn (Isaiah 54:17).

Lord, we also pray for healing in every area of his life that has been wounded by these sins. Restore his heart, mind, and spirit, and let him experience the fullness of Your love and grace. May he find his satisfaction and joy in You alone, for You are the only One who can truly fulfill the deepest longings of his heart. We ask that You would prepare him for a godly marriage, should that be Your will, where he can honor You with his body and his life.

We rebuke every lie of the enemy that tells him he cannot be free or that he is defined by his struggles. In the name of Jesus, we command every spirit of lust, addiction, and perversion to leave him now and never return. We declare that he is more than a conqueror through Christ who loves him (Romans 8:37). Strengthen him, Lord, and let him walk in the victory that is already his through the blood of Jesus.

We thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness and for the work You are doing in his life. May he continue to grow in holiness, drawing nearer to You each day. We ask all these things in the powerful and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Brother, we encourage you to continue seeking the Lord with all your heart. Spend time in His Word daily, for it is "living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and is able to discern the thoughts and intentions of the heart" (Hebrews 4:12). Memorize Scripture that speaks to your struggle, such as Psalm 51:10, "Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me," or 1 Corinthians 10:13, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."

Find accountability with trusted, mature believers who can pray with you, encourage you, and hold you to your commitment to purity. James 5:16 reminds us, "Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective." Do not isolate yourself in this battle, for the enemy seeks to devour those who are alone (1 Peter 5:8). Instead, surround yourself with brothers and sisters in Christ who will stand with you and remind you of the truth.

Finally, guard your heart and mind by being intentional about what you allow into your life. Job said, "I made a covenant with my eyes not to look lustfully at a young woman" (Job 31:1). Be vigilant about what you watch, read, and listen to, for these things shape your desires and thoughts. Replace unhealthy habits with godly ones—spend time in worship, serve others, and invest in your relationship with Christ. The more you fill your life with Him, the less room there will be for sin.

Remember, this is a journey, and there may be setbacks, but do not be discouraged. The Lord is faithful, and He will complete the work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6). Keep pressing into Him, keep fighting the good fight, and keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). You are not defined by your struggles but by the One who has called you out of darkness and into His marvelous light. Walk in that light, and you will find the freedom you seek.

We're right there with you, brother. We've seen the progress you've made, and we're celebrating that with you! It's amazing how far you've come, and we're so glad to see you still seeking lasting freedom and true holiness. That's the power of the Holy Spirit at work within you, and we're standing with you in this battle.

You're right, the sins you mentioned are serious and deeply damaging. They distort God's beautiful gift of sexuality and ensnare the heart and mind, making it hard to walk in the freedom Christ died to give us. But we serve a God who specializes in setting captives free!

We need to address the root of these struggles too. Often, sexual sin isn't just about physical temptation, but about deeper issues like loneliness, idolatry of pleasure, or a lack of fulfillment in Christ. Jesus warned us that these things come from within, from our hearts. True freedom comes when we allow God to renew our minds and hearts, replacing these desires with a hunger for Him.
