Help! I really prayed and cried a lot...😭

Beloved of All
I had problems with pornography, masturbation, flirting (with the opposite sex) and sexual sins... Now there is a great improvement! Let us give all the glory and thanks for this to the Lord Jesus Christ! But there is still a great need for more improvement (lasting and true) for the glory of God! Let us pray for this...Please pray that God will help me and guide me to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from my life and heart, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Let us pray that God will also work, renew my mind, make me very wise, so that these sins will forever be far from me, in the Name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God will show me mercy, speak to me, give me understanding and deliverance. I really prayed and cried a lot...😭

We rejoice with you in the victory and progress the Lord Jesus Christ has already brought into your life! Your heartfelt cry for deliverance and transformation is a powerful testimony of His grace at work within you. The fact that you are seeking lasting change for God’s glory is evidence of the Holy Spirit’s conviction and guidance. Let us stand together in agreement, lifting you up in prayer and encouragement as you continue this journey of sanctification.

First, we must affirm that sexual sin—whether pornography, masturbation, or inappropriate flirting—is a serious matter before God. The Bible is clear that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, and we are called to honor God with them (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). Flee sexual immorality! Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s. These sins not only defile the body but also entangle the heart and mind, leading to spiritual bondage. Yet, we serve a God who is rich in mercy and mighty to save (Ephesians 2:4-5). Your desire to be free is evidence of His work in you, and He will complete what He has begun (Philippians 1:6).

We must also address the root of these struggles. Often, sexual sin is not merely a physical temptation but a heart issue—idolatry, loneliness, or a misplaced search for fulfillment. Jesus warned that sin begins in the heart (Matthew 15:19), so true freedom requires a transformation of the mind and affections. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God (Romans 12:2). This renewal comes through saturating your heart and mind with Scripture, prayer, and godly fellowship. It also means replacing sinful habits with righteous ones—filling your time with worship, service, and accountability rather than idle moments that leave room for temptation.

We rebuke the lies of the enemy that tell you this struggle is too great or that you are defined by your past. The accuser would have you believe you are powerless, but the Word declares that you are more than a conqueror through Christ who loves you (Romans 8:37). No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it (1 Corinthians 10:13). The Lord has already provided a way out—your responsibility is to take it, whether that means fleeing from triggers, confessing to a trusted believer, or crying out to God in the moment of temptation.

Let us also encourage you to seek godly accountability. Confess your struggles to a mature Christian brother or mentor who can pray with you, challenge you, and help you walk in victory (James 5:16). Confess your offenses to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, earnest prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available. Isolation feeds sin, but transparency and community bring healing. If there is no one in your immediate circle, ask the Lord to lead you to a biblical counselor or a Christ-centered support group where you can find encouragement.

Now, let us pray together in the authority of Jesus’ name:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the work You have already done in this dear brother’s life. We thank You for Your mercy, Your patience, and Your unfailing love that draws him to repentance. Lord, we ask that You would complete the good work You have begun in him. Strengthen him with power through Your Spirit in his inner being, so that Christ may dwell in his heart through faith (Ephesians 3:16-17).

Father, we ask that You would break every chain of sexual sin in his life. Where there is bondage, bring freedom. Where there is shame, bring Your healing touch. Where there is weakness, grant strength. We declare that no weapon formed against him will prosper, and every tongue that rises against him in judgment, You will condemn (Isaiah 54:17). Lord, fill him with Your Holy Spirit, that he may walk in purity and holiness, not by his own strength, but by Your power at work within him.

We pray for a renewed mind—transform his thoughts, Lord. Let Your Word dwell in him richly, that he may be equipped for every good work (2 Timothy 3:16-17). Give him wisdom to recognize temptation and the courage to flee from it. Surround him with godly influences and accountability that will spur him on toward love and good deeds (Hebrews 10:24).

Father, we ask that You would speak to his heart. Let him hear Your voice clearly, guiding him in the paths of righteousness for Your name’s sake (Psalm 23:3). Give him a hunger and thirst for righteousness, that he may be filled (Matthew 5:6). Where there has been compromise, bring conviction. Where there has been failure, bring restoration. Where there has been secrecy, bring light.

Lord, we also pray for his future. If it is Your will, prepare him for a godly marriage, where he can honor You with his body and his heart. Let him be a man after Your own heart, blameless in Your sight. Protect him from the schemes of the enemy, and let him walk in the victory that is already his through Christ Jesus.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Name above every name, the One who has conquered sin and death. We declare that this brother is not defined by his struggles but by the blood of Jesus, which cleanses him from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:7). We stand in agreement with him, believing that he will walk in the freedom and purity You have called him to. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Continue to press into the Lord, dear brother. Every time you resist temptation, you are strengthening your spiritual muscles. Every time you choose righteousness, you are storing up treasure in heaven. The battle may be fierce, but the victory is already won. Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it is God who works in you both to will and to work, for his good pleasure (Philippians 2:12-13). You are not alone—we stand with you, and more importantly, the Lord is with you. Keep fighting the good fight of faith!

Dear friend, we're right there with you, cheering you on and lifting you up in prayer. We're so encouraged by the progress you've made and the sincere desire you have for lasting change. Let's keep pressing on together!

First, let's remind ourselves of the incredible power that raised Jesus from the dead, which now lives in us (Ephesians 1:19-20). This power is more than enough to overcome any sin, including sexual sin. So, let's claim that power and declare freedom over your life in Jesus' name!

Next, let's focus on the heart. As we've seen, sin often starts in the heart, so let's ask God to reveal any root issues that might be driving these struggles. Maybe it's a misplaced desire for intimacy, a lack of self-worth, or a distorted view of love. Let's be honest with ourselves and with God, and let's ask Him to heal and transform our hearts.

Now, let's talk about practical steps. We need to fill our minds with good things, like God's Word and godly friendships. We should also avoid triggers and create healthy habits to replace the old ones. Accountability is crucial, so let's find a trusted brother or sister in Christ to walk this journey with you.

Lastly, let's pray together:

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come to You in Jesus' name, believing that You are faithful to complete the good work You've started in our friend's life. We ask that You would:

- Break every chain of sexual sin in his life, setting him completely free.
- Renew his mind, filling it with Your truth and wisdom.
- Reveal any root issues in his heart, and heal and transform him from the inside out.
- Give him the strength to resist temptation and the courage to choose righteousness.
- Surround him with godly influences and accountability.
- Prepare him for a godly marriage, if that's Your will, and help him become a man after Your own heart.

We ask all these things in Jesus' name, believing that He has already won the victory over sin and death. We stand with our friend, believing that he will walk in freedom and purity. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Keep fighting the good fight, dear friend! Remember, every victory, no matter how small, is a step towards lasting freedom. You're not alone – we're here for you, and so is Jesus. Keep pressing on!
