Help! I really prayed and cried a lot...😭

I had problems with pornography, masturbation, flirting (with the opposite sex) and sexual sins... Now there is a great improvement! Let us give all the glory and thanks for this to the Lord Jesus Christ! But there is still a great need for more improvement (lasting and true) for the glory of God! Let us pray for this...Please pray that God will help me and guide me to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from my life and heart, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Let us pray that God will also work, renew my mind, make me very wise, so that these sins will forever be far from me, in the Name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God will show me mercy, speak to me, give me understanding and deliverance. I really prayed and cried a lot...😭

The struggles you mention—pornography, masturbation, flirting outside of godly boundaries, and other sexual sins—are battles many face in this fallen world, but they do not have to define you. The enemy seeks to ensnare believers in shame, isolation, and bondage, but Christ has already broken the power of sin through His death and resurrection. As it is written in 1 Corinthians 10:13, *"No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."* The Lord is faithful to provide a way out, and we pray that you will continue to walk in that freedom.

First, we must address the root of these struggles. Sexual sin often stems from deeper issues—loneliness, unmet desires, idolatry of pleasure, or even wounds from the past. The Lord desires to heal and restore every part of you, not just the outward behavior. Romans 12:2 urges us, *"Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God."* True and lasting change begins in the mind and heart, where the Holy Spirit works to align our thoughts, desires, and affections with God’s perfect will.

We must also rebuke the lies of the enemy that seek to keep you in bondage. The devil will whisper that you are too far gone, that you will never change, or that God is disappointed in you. But the Word of God declares in 1 John 1:9, *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."* God’s mercy is greater than your sin, and His grace is sufficient to empower you to walk in purity. You are not defined by your past failures but by the righteousness of Christ, which has been imputed to you through faith.

We also encourage you to take practical steps to guard your heart and mind. Flee from temptation as Joseph did when Potiphar’s wife sought to entice him (Genesis 39:12). This may mean installing accountability software on your devices, avoiding certain environments or relationships that lead you into sin, and filling your mind with Scripture rather than the empty promises of the world. Psalm 119:9-11 says, *"How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word. I seek you with all my heart; don’t let me wander from your commandments. I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you."* The Word of God is a lamp to your feet and a light to your path, guiding you away from darkness and into His marvelous light.

We must also address the issue of flirting outside of godly boundaries. While it may seem harmless, flirting can often lead to emotional or physical unfaithfulness, even if unintentional. The Bible calls us to purity in both action and intention. Matthew 5:28 warns, *"But I tell you that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart."* If you are not married, your focus should be on pursuing godly character and preparing yourself for a future spouse who shares your faith and commitment to Christ. If you are married, your devotion and affection belong solely to your spouse, as Ephesians 5:33 commands, *"Nevertheless each of you must also love his own wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she respects her husband."*

Let us pray together now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, giving You all the glory for the work You have already done in this dear brother’s life. Lord, we thank You for Your faithfulness, mercy, and grace that have brought him this far. We ask now that You would complete the work You have begun in him. Father, we pray that You would break every chain of bondage to sexual sin, pornography, masturbation, and ungodly relationships. We rebuke the enemy’s lies and declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).

Lord, we ask that You would renew his mind daily through Your Word. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, that he may walk in the Spirit and not fulfill the lusts of the flesh (Galatians 5:16). Give him wisdom and discernment to recognize temptation and the strength to flee from it. Father, we pray that You would heal any wounds or unmet needs that may be driving him toward these sins. Replace loneliness with Your presence, emptiness with Your fullness, and ungodly desires with a passion for Your kingdom.

We ask that You would surround him with godly accountability—men who will walk alongside him, pray for him, and encourage him in his faith. Lord, if he is single, prepare him for a godly spouse who will honor You and help him grow in Christ. If he is married, restore intimacy, trust, and love in his marriage, that it may reflect the relationship between Christ and the Church.

Father, we pray that You would speak to his heart in a personal and powerful way. Give him a deeper revelation of Your love, Your grace, and Your call to holiness. Let him hear Your voice clearly, guiding him into all truth. We declare that he is more than a conqueror through Christ who loves him (Romans 8:37), and that sin shall no longer have dominion over him (Romans 6:14).

We thank You, Lord, for Your promise in Philippians 1:6, *"Being confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ."* We trust You to bring lasting freedom, purity, and joy to this brother’s life. May his testimony bring glory to Your name and draw others to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

Continue to press into the Lord, dear brother. Your struggle is not in vain, and your cries have not gone unheard. The same God who delivered you from the miry clay will set your feet upon the Rock and put a new song in your mouth (Psalm 40:2-3). Walk in the light of His Word, lean on His strength, and trust in His promises. You are not alone—we are with you in prayer, and the Lord is with you always.

First, let's remind ourselves of the truth in 2 Corinthians 10:5, "We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ." We need to take every thought captive, brother. When those temptations come, when those images or desires pop into your mind, we need to actively reject them and replace them with the truth of God's Word.

Let's also remember Philippians 4:8, "Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things." We need to fill our minds with good and pure things, brother. That might mean limiting your exposure to certain media, seeking out uplifting music or podcasts, or even finding a good Christian book to read.

But we also know that this is a battle, and we can't do it alone. So, let's be accountable to each other. Who can you talk to about this? Who can you share your struggles with, and who can pray with you and for you? Remember, we're all in this together, and we're all in need of grace and mercy.

Let's pray together, brother. "Dear Lord, we come before you today, asking for your strength and your grace. Help [brother's name] to stand firm in his faith, to resist temptation, and to walk in obedience to your Word. Fill his mind with your truth, Lord, and help him to take every thought captive. Give him wisdom to navigate the challenges he faces, and give him courage to be honest and open with those around him. We ask all this in Jesus' name, amen."

Keep fighting the good fight, brother. We're cheering you on, and we're here to support you every step of the way. You're not alone in this.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
