Help! I really prayed and cried a lot...😭

Beloved of All
I had problems with pornography, masturbation, flirting (with the opposite sex) and sexual sins... Now there is a great improvement! Let us give all the glory and thanks for this to the Lord Jesus Christ! But there is still a great need for more improvement (lasting and true) for the glory of God! Let us pray for this...Please pray that God will help me and guide me to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from my life and heart, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Let us pray that God will also work, renew my mind, make me very wise, so that these sins will forever be far from me, in the Name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God will show me mercy, speak to me, give me understanding and deliverance. I really prayed and cried a lot...😭

We hear your heart’s cry and stand with you in this battle, lifting you up before the throne of grace. Your acknowledgment of Jesus Christ as Lord and your desire to walk in purity bring great glory to God. The struggles you describe—pornography, masturbation, flirting outside the bounds of godly courtship, and other sexual sins—are not merely personal failures but spiritual strongholds that must be torn down in the name of Jesus. We rejoice in the progress you’ve made, for the Lord is faithful to those who seek Him with a repentant heart. Yet we also recognize that true and lasting victory requires more than momentary resolve; it demands a complete surrender to the transforming power of the Holy Spirit.

The Word of God declares, *"No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it"* (1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB). This is not a promise of an easy path, but of a God who provides the strength to overcome. The battle you face is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces of darkness (Ephesians 6:12), and the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:4). You must put on the full armor of God—truth, righteousness, the gospel of peace, faith, salvation, and the Word of God—so that you may stand firm (Ephesians 6:13-17).

We must also address the root of these sins, for they often stem from deeper issues such as loneliness, idleness, unmet desires, or a heart that has not fully surrendered to Christ. Jesus warned, *"For out of the heart come forth evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, sexual sins, thefts, false testimony, and blasphemies"* (Matthew 15:19 WEB). True freedom comes not just from avoiding sin but from filling your heart with what is pure and holy. *"Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report: if there is any virtue and if there is any praise, think about these things"* (Philippians 4:8 WEB). You must guard your heart diligently, for from it flow the springs of life (Proverbs 4:23).

We also urge you to flee from every appearance of evil (1 Thessalonians 5:22). This means not only avoiding pornography and sexual sin but also cutting off any relationships or habits that lead you into temptation. If flirting is not directed toward godly courtship with the intent of marriage to a fellow believer, it is a snare that must be abandoned. The Bible is clear: *"But sexual immorality, and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be mentioned among you, as becomes saints"* (Ephesians 5:3 WEB). You must take radical steps to remove anything from your life that feeds these sins—whether it be certain websites, friendships, or even idle time that leads to temptation.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, the only name by which we can be saved. We lift up our brother who is crying out to You for deliverance and renewal. Lord, You see his heart, his tears, and his desire to walk in purity. We thank You for the progress You have already made in his life, and we ask that You would complete the work You have begun in him.

Father, we ask that You would break every chain of addiction, every stronghold of lust, and every lie of the enemy that tells him he cannot be free. Your Word says, *"If the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed"* (John 8:36 WEB). We claim that freedom for him now, in Jesus’ name. Renew his mind, Lord, so that he no longer conforms to the patterns of this world but is transformed by the renewing of his mind (Romans 12:2). Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, that he may walk in the Spirit and not fulfill the lusts of the flesh (Galatians 5:16).

Father, we ask that You would give him wisdom and discernment to recognize the enemy’s schemes and to flee from temptation. Surround him with godly accountability, with brothers in Christ who will stand with him in this battle. Help him to fill his heart and mind with Your Word, for Your Word is a lamp to his feet and a light to his path (Psalm 119:105). Let him meditate on Your truth day and night, that he may be like a tree planted by streams of water, yielding fruit in season and prospering in all he does (Psalm 1:2-3).

Lord, we also ask that You would heal any wounds in his heart that may have contributed to these struggles—whether it be loneliness, rejection, or unmet desires. Comfort him with Your love and remind him that he is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). Help him to find his identity and satisfaction in You alone, for You are the only One who can truly fulfill the longings of his heart.

Father, we rebuke every spirit of lust, addiction, and perversion that has had a foothold in his life. We command these spirits to leave him now, in the name of Jesus Christ, and we declare that he is no longer a slave to sin but a child of God, washed clean by the blood of the Lamb. We pray that You would fill him with Your peace, joy, and righteousness, so that he may walk in the freedom that Christ has purchased for him.

Finally, Lord, we ask that You would guide him into godly relationships that honor You. If it is Your will for him to marry, prepare him to be a husband who loves his wife as Christ loves the church (Ephesians 5:25). Until then, help him to pursue purity in every area of his life, so that he may be a vessel for honor, sanctified and useful to You (2 Timothy 2:21).

We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Brother, do not grow weary in this fight. The road to freedom is often a marathon, not a sprint, but the Lord is with you every step of the way. Surround yourself with godly men who can pray for you, hold you accountable, and encourage you in your walk with Christ. Fill your mind with Scripture, for it is the sword of the Spirit (Ephesians 6:17), and spend time in prayer daily, for the effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much (James 5:16).

Remember, *"He who calls you is faithful, who will also do it"* (1 Thessalonians 5:24 WEB). The same God who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ (Philippians 1:6). Keep pressing forward, keep seeking His face, and do not lose heart. Your victory is already won in Christ!

We're right there with you, brother. We've seen the progress you've made, and it's a testament to God's faithfulness in your life. It's encouraging to see you acknowledge your struggles and your desire to walk in purity. Let's keep pressing on together.

We want to echo some of what's already been said, but also share a few more things from our hearts. First, remember that God is not surprised by your struggles. He knows the battles you're facing, and He's already fought and won the victory for you. It's in 1 Corinthians 10:13, "No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it."

Also, let's not forget the power of community. We're not meant to fight these battles alone. Share your struggles with trusted brothers or sisters in Christ. Accountability is a powerful tool in our walk with God. As it says in Ecclesiastes 4:9-10, "Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up."

Let's also pray for you right now:

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today, lifting up our brother. We thank You for his desire to walk in purity and for the progress he's already made. Lord, we ask that You would strengthen him in his time of need. Help him to resist temptation and to flee from sin. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, that he may walk in Your ways and not conform to the patterns of this world. Give him wisdom and discernment to recognize and avoid temptation. Surround him with godly accountability, with brothers and sisters in Christ who will stand with him in this battle. Comfort him with Your love, and help him to find his identity and satisfaction in You alone. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Keep fighting the good fight, brother. You're not alone. We're in this together. Let's keep encouraging each other and pressing on towards the goal. God is with us every step of the way.

Once I stopped lusting, flirting, drinking and smoking, I really didn’t know that was just the beginning. You see Christianity is about service, humility, and obedience (to the spirit, not necessarily to the elders like in once thought). We all sin daily even if we are not flirting. We may be angry, we may desire something that doesn’t belong to us, we may be lazy, etc. If we confess it to God and repent we can move on. But we will never be perfect, but sanctification makes us more like Jesus. Also you have to be doing something about the faith, not just quitting lust and watching Netflix all day. Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
