Help! I really prayed and cried a lot...😭

Beloved of All
I had problems with pornography, masturbation, flirting (with the opposite sex) and sexual sins... Now there is a great improvement! Let us give all the glory and thanks for this to the Lord Jesus Christ! But there is still a great need for more improvement (lasting and true) for the glory of God! Let us pray for this...Please pray that God will help me and guide me to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from my life and heart, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Let us pray that God will also work, renew my mind, make me very wise, so that these sins will forever be far from me, in the Name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God will show me mercy, speak to me, give me understanding and deliverance. I really prayed and cried a lot...😭

We rejoice with you in the victory and progress the Lord Jesus Christ has already brought into your life! Your heartfelt cry for deliverance and transformation is a powerful testimony of God’s work within you, and we stand with you in prayer and encouragement as you continue to press into His grace. The battles you describe are real, but they are not insurmountable—for the One who began this good work in you will complete it until the day of Christ Jesus (Philippians 1:6).

The sins you’ve confessed—pornography, masturbation, flirting with impure motives, and other sexual immorality—are not merely personal struggles but offenses against God’s holy design for purity and intimacy. The Bible is clear: *"Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s"* (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). These words are not meant to condemn you but to remind you of the high calling you have as a child of God. Your body, your mind, and your affections belong to Him, and He desires to set you free from every chain.

We must also address the root of these struggles. Sexual sin often stems from deeper issues—loneliness, unmet desires, idolatry of pleasure, or even a lack of fulfillment in Christ. The enemy seeks to exploit these vulnerabilities, but God offers a better way. *"No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it"* (1 Corinthians 10:13). The "way of escape" is not merely willpower or avoidance but a transformed heart that finds its satisfaction in Christ alone. When your soul is anchored in Him, the allure of sin loses its power.

Let us pray with you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One who died to break the power of sin and rose again to give us new life. We lift up our brother in Christ, who has cried out to You in repentance and desperation for deliverance. Lord, You see his heart—his desire to be free, his longing to honor You with his body and mind. We ask that You would complete the work You have begun in him. Renew his mind by the washing of Your Word (Ephesians 5:26), that he may no longer be conformed to the patterns of this world but transformed by the renewing of his thoughts (Romans 12:2).

Father, we rebuke every spirit of lust, addiction, and deception that has sought to ensnare him. In the name of Jesus, we declare that these chains are broken! *"The Son of God was revealed for this purpose: to destroy the works of the devil"* (1 John 3:8). We pray that You would fill every void in his heart with Your presence, so that he finds his deepest fulfillment in You alone. Give him wisdom to recognize temptation before it takes root, and grant him the strength to flee from every appearance of evil (1 Thessalonians 5:22).

Lord, we ask that You would speak to him in ways he cannot ignore. Open his eyes to see the beauty of Your holiness and the freedom found in obedience. Surround him with godly accountability—men who will walk with him, pray with him, and sharpen him in the faith (Proverbs 27:17). Guard his eyes, his thoughts, and his heart, that he may walk in purity before You. And if there are areas of his life where he has not fully surrendered, reveal them to him, that he may confess and turn away from them completely.

We also pray for his future marriage, should You call him to it. Prepare him to be a godly husband—one who loves his wife as Christ loves the church (Ephesians 5:25), leading her in holiness and purity. May his past struggles become a testimony of Your redeeming power, that he may one day guide his children in the ways of righteousness.

Father, we thank You that You are faithful even when we are faithless (2 Timothy 2:13). You have promised that if we confess our sins, You are faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). We claim that promise over our brother today. May he walk in the freedom of Your forgiveness, the power of Your Spirit, and the hope of Your eternal glory.

In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

Now, dear brother, we encourage you to take practical steps to walk in this freedom. First, immerse yourself in Scripture daily. Meditate on passages like Psalm 51, Psalm 119:9-11, and Romans 6, which declare the power of God’s Word to cleanse and transform. Second, seek accountability. Share your struggle with a trusted, mature Christian man who can pray with you and hold you to your commitments. Third, guard your heart by setting boundaries—install filters on your devices, avoid environments where temptation thrives, and flee from situations that could lead you astray. Fourth, replace the time and energy you once spent on sin with godly pursuits—serve in your church, develop a hobby that glorifies God, or invest in relationships that build you up in the faith.

Remember, this battle is not yours alone. Christ has already won the victory, and His Spirit lives within you to empower you to live in that victory. *"For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ"* (2 Corinthians 10:4-5). You are not fighting *for* victory—you are fighting *from* victory.

Finally, do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not faint (Galatians 6:9). The road to lasting freedom is a journey, not a sprint. There may be setbacks, but do not let them define you. Each time you fall, run back to the cross, confess your sin, and receive God’s forgiveness. His mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23), and His grace is sufficient for you (2 Corinthians 12:9).

We are proud of you for your honesty and your hunger for holiness. Keep pressing into Jesus, and He will lead you into the fullness of freedom He has promised. You are not alone in this fight—we stand with you, and more importantly, the Lord of Hosts stands with you. To Him be all the glory, now and forever. Amen.

Dear friend,

We hear your heart's cry and we're here with you, standing in the gap, praying in Jesus' name. We're encouraged by the progress you've made and we want to join you in asking for more.

Let's pray:

Father, we come before You, asking for Your continued work in our brother's life. We thank You for the victories already won, and we ask for Your strength to help him overcome the remaining struggles. Lord, help him to flee from every appearance of evil, and give him the wisdom to recognize temptation before it takes root.

We ask for Your Spirit to fill him, to guide him, and to empower him to live a life pleasing to You. Help him to find his satisfaction in You alone, and to walk in the freedom that comes from knowing You.

We also pray for his future, Lord. If You have someone in mind for him to marry, prepare him to be a godly husband. Help him to love his wife as Christ loves the church, leading her in holiness and purity.

Father, we thank You for Your faithfulness. Even when we're faithless, You're faithful. We claim Your promise of forgiveness and cleansing when we confess our sins. May our brother walk in the freedom of Your forgiveness, the power of Your Spirit, and the hope of Your eternal glory.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Now, dear brother, keep pressing into Jesus. He is faithful, and He will lead you into the fullness of freedom He has promised. You're not alone in this fight - we're here with you, and more importantly, the Lord of Hosts stands with you. To Him be all the glory, now and forever. Amen.
