Help! I really prayed and cried a lot...😭

Beloved of All
I had problems with pornography, masturbation, flirting (with the opposite sex) and sexual sins... Now there is a great improvement! Let us give all the glory and thanks for this to the Lord Jesus Christ! But there is still a great need for more improvement (lasting and true) for the glory of God! Let us pray for this...Please pray that God will help me and guide me to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from my life and heart, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Let us pray that God will also work, renew my mind, make me very wise, so that these sins will forever be far from me, in the Name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God will show me mercy, speak to me, give me understanding and deliverance. I really prayed and cried a lot...😭

We rejoice with you in the progress the Lord has already brought into your life, for His grace is sufficient and His power is made perfect in our weakness. The fact that you are crying out to Him in repentance and seeking lasting change is evidence of His work in your heart. We stand with you in prayer, lifting you before the throne of grace, where mercy and help are found in time of need.

The struggles you describe—pornography, masturbation, flirting with sinful intent, and other sexual immorality—are not merely personal failures but offenses against God’s holy design for purity and self-control. The Bible is clear: *"Flee sexual immorality! Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s."* (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). These sins distort the beauty of God’s gift of sexuality, which He designed exclusively for the covenant of marriage between one man and one woman. They also grieve the Holy Spirit and hinder your intimacy with Christ.

We must also address the flirting you mentioned. While not all interaction with the opposite sex is sinful, flirting that stirs lust or leads to emotional or physical unfaithfulness is dangerous. Jesus warned, *"But I tell you that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart."* (Matthew 5:28). If your flirting is rooted in a desire to draw attention to yourself or to seek validation outside of Christ, it must be surrendered to the Lord. True godly relationships are built on purity, mutual edification, and a shared commitment to Christ—not on fleeting emotions or selfish desires.

Your cry for deliverance is heard, and we join you in praying for complete freedom. The Lord desires to renew your mind, as Romans 12:2 commands: *"Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God."* This transformation begins with saturating your mind in Scripture, replacing impure thoughts with what is true, noble, pure, lovely, and praiseworthy (Philippians 4:8). It also requires accountability—seeking out godly believers who can walk with you, pray for you, and hold you to the standards of God’s Word.

We must also rebuke the enemy’s lies that may be whispering to you. Satan wants you to believe that you are defined by your struggles, that change is impossible, or that God’s grace is not enough. But the truth is this: *"No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."* (1 Corinthians 10:13). The Lord has already provided the way out—through His Word, His Spirit, and the community of believers. You are not alone in this battle.

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One who died to break the power of sin and rose again to give us new life. We lift up our brother to You, Lord, and ask that You would complete the good work You have begun in him. Father, we thank You for the progress You have already made in his life, and we ask that You would strengthen him with power through Your Spirit in his inner being, so that Christ may dwell in his heart through faith (Ephesians 3:16-17).

Lord, we ask that You would grant him a deep hatred for sin and a passionate love for righteousness. Renew his mind daily through Your Word, and help him to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5). Father, we pray that You would break every chain of addiction, lust, and impurity in his life. Set him free from the grip of pornography, masturbation, and any form of sexual immorality. Let him walk in the freedom that Christ purchased for him on the cross.

We ask that You would surround him with godly men who can encourage him, pray for him, and hold him accountable. Give him the courage to be transparent and the humility to receive correction. Lord, we pray that You would guard his eyes, his heart, and his mind from the temptations of this world. Help him to flee from every appearance of evil and to pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart (2 Timothy 2:22).

Father, we also pray for wisdom. Give him discernment to recognize the enemy’s schemes and the strength to resist them. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit so that he may walk in step with You every moment of every day. Lord, we ask that You would heal any wounds in his heart that may have contributed to these struggles—whether from past hurts, rejection, or unmet needs. Let him find his identity, worth, and satisfaction in Christ alone.

We declare over him the promise of 1 John 1:9: *"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."* Lord, we thank You for Your forgiveness and Your cleansing power. We ask that You would restore to him the joy of Your salvation and uphold him with Your generous Spirit (Psalm 51:12).

Finally, Father, we pray that You would prepare him for godly marriage, if that is Your will for his life. Let him be a man who loves You above all else and who seeks a wife who shares his commitment to Christ. Until that time, help him to live a life of purity, honoring You in all his relationships.

We ask all these things in the powerful, precious name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, the only name by which we are saved and through which we have access to You. May Your will be done in his life, and may Your name be glorified in every victory. Amen.

Brother, we encourage you to press into the Lord with all your heart. Memorize Scripture, spend time in prayer, and seek out a trusted pastor or mature believer who can walk with you. The battle is real, but the victory is already won in Christ. Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9). The Lord is faithful, and He will complete the work He has started in you. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith.

We're right there with you, brother, standing in the gap and lifting you up in prayer. We're so encouraged to see the progress you've made and the hunger you have for lasting change. Let's keep pressing in together, shall we?

We want to echo what's already been said about the beauty and holiness of God's design for our bodies and relationships. But we also want to remind you of the incredible power you have in Christ. As it says in Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." That's not just a cute verse on a wall hanging; it's a promise from God Himself.

So, let's claim that promise together. Let's pray that God would fill you with His strength, that you would feel His power at work within you, helping you to resist temptation and walk in righteousness. Let's ask Him to give you a deep, unshakeable confidence in His love for you, so that you can stand firm against the lies and accusations of the enemy.

And remember, brother, you're not alone in this. We're here with you, and so is the entire body of Christ. Let's keep encouraging each other, holding each other accountable, and praying for one another. Because when one part of the body suffers, we all suffer together. And when one part is honored, we all rejoice together (1 Corinthians 12:26).

Let's keep fighting the good fight, brother. Let's keep running the race marked out for us, keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). And let's do it together, one step at a time, one prayer at a time.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

"No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."* (1 Corinthians 10:13).

A way of escape could be an accountability partner to reach out to before giving into temptation. Find one trustworthy, faithful and accountable to the Lord and mature in Christ.

I pray in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ that you are broken of this stronghold.
