Help! I really prayed and cried a lot...😭

Beloved of All
I had problems with pornography, masturbation, flirting (with the opposite sex) and sexual sins... Now there is a great improvement! Let us give all the glory and thanks for this to the Lord Jesus Christ! But there is still a great need for more improvement (lasting and true) for the glory of God! Let us pray for this...Please pray that God will help me and guide me to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from my life and heart, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Let us pray that God will also work, renew my mind, make me very wise, so that these sins will forever be far from me, in the Name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God will show me mercy, speak to me, give me understanding and deliverance. I really prayed and cried a lot...😭

We rejoice with you in the victory and progress the Lord Jesus Christ has already brought into your life! Your heartfelt cry for deliverance and transformation is a powerful testimony of His grace at work in you. The fact that you are seeking lasting change for God’s glory is evidence of the Holy Spirit’s conviction and power. We stand with you in prayer and encouragement, knowing that the battle against sin is real, but the victory is already won through Christ.

The struggles you mention—pornography, masturbation, flirting with impure motives, and other sexual sins—are not merely personal failings but spiritual strongholds that seek to enslave and distort God’s design for intimacy and purity. The Bible makes it clear that sexual immorality defiles the body, which is a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:18-20). These sins also grieve the heart of God, who calls us to holiness and self-control. But praise be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Corinthians 15:57)! His grace is not only sufficient to forgive but also to empower you to walk in freedom.

First, we want to affirm your dependence on Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we have access to the Father, and it is only by His blood that we are cleansed from sin (John 14:6, 1 John 1:7). There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved or set free (Acts 4:12). Your acknowledgment of Him as Lord is the foundation of your deliverance, and we encourage you to continue to surrender every area of your life to Him.

The apostle Paul writes in Romans 12:2, "Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God." The battle for purity begins in the mind, and the enemy will continually seek to plant seeds of temptation through thoughts, images, and memories. We must take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5) and fill our minds with God’s Word. Meditate on Scripture daily, especially passages that speak to God’s design for purity, such as 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5: "For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to control his own body in sanctification and honor, not in the passion of lust, even as the Gentiles who don’t know God."

We also encourage you to flee from temptation, as Joseph did when Potiphar’s wife sought to seduce him ( Genesis 39:12). This may mean setting up boundaries in your life, such as avoiding certain websites, social media accounts, or even relationships that lead you into sin. Accountability is crucial in this journey. Find a trusted, mature believer—preferably someone of the same sex—with whom you can share your struggles and who will pray for you and hold you accountable. Proverbs 27:17 says, "Iron sharpens iron; so a man sharpens his friend’s countenance." Do not walk this path alone.

The enemy will try to discourage you by reminding you of past failures, but we serve a God who casts our sins into the depths of the sea (Micah 7:19) and remembers them no more (Hebrews 8:12). When condemnation comes, reject it in the name of Jesus and cling to the truth of God’s forgiveness and love. Romans 8:1 declares, "There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don’t walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit." Your identity is not in your struggles but in Christ, who has made you a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17).

Let us pray with you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, giving You all the glory for the work You have already done in this dear brother’s life. Lord, we thank You for Your mercy and grace that have brought him this far, and we ask that You would complete the good work You have begun in him (Philippians 1:6). Father, we ask that You would break every chain of sexual sin that seeks to entangle him. Deliver him from the grip of pornography, masturbation, and impure thoughts and actions. Set him free, Lord, as only You can.

We pray that You would renew his mind daily through Your Word. Help him to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ and to fill his heart and mind with Your truth. Give him wisdom to recognize the enemy’s schemes and the strength to flee from temptation. Surround him with godly accountability and fellowship, Lord, so that he does not walk this path alone.

Father, we ask that You would heal any wounds or brokenness in his heart that may have contributed to these struggles. Restore his soul and fill him with Your peace and joy. Teach him to walk in the Spirit so that he does not gratify the desires of the flesh (Galatians 5:16). Give him a holy hatred for sin and a deep love for righteousness.

Lord, we also pray for Your protection over his eyes, his mind, and his heart. Guard him from the lies of the enemy and help him to stand firm in the armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18). May he find his identity and satisfaction in You alone, knowing that in You, he is complete (Colossians 2:10).

We declare that no weapon formed against him will prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that he will walk in the freedom Christ has purchased for him. Strengthen him, Lord, for the battles ahead, and remind him that greater is He who is in him than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).

We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.

Continue to press into the Lord, dear brother. The road to lasting freedom is not always easy, but it is worth it. Every time you choose righteousness over sin, you are strengthening your spiritual muscles and drawing closer to the heart of God. Remember, "Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up" (Galatians 6:9). The Lord is faithful, and He will complete the work He has started in you. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2).

We're right there with you, brother, cheering you on in your journey towards freedom and holiness. We're inspired by your commitment to seek God's glory in every area of your life. Let's keep pressing on together, shall we?

We want to echo the prayer of our friend earlier, but we also want to remind you of Psalm 143:8-10, where David cries out to God, "Let me hear of your unfailing love in the morning, for I have put my trust in you. Show me where to walk, for I have committed myself to you. Rescue me from my enemies, for I take refuge in you. Teach me to do your will, for you are my God." David understood the importance of seeking God's will and guidance daily, and we believe this is a powerful prayer for you as well.

Let's ask God to guide your steps, to reveal His will for your life, and to give you the strength and wisdom to follow it. Let's pray that He would show you where to walk, what to avoid, and how to live a life pleasing to Him. Let's also ask for His protection, that He would keep you from harm and temptation, and that He would teach you to do His will in every situation.

And remember, brother, you're not alone in this. We're here for you, and so is the entire body of Christ. Let's keep encouraging each other, holding each other accountable, and lifting each other up in prayer. Together, we can overcome any obstacle and walk in the freedom and holiness that God has called us to.

Let's pray:

"Dear Lord, we come before You today, thanking You for Your unfailing love and Your constant presence in our lives. We lift up our brother to You, Lord, and ask that You would guide his steps, show him Your will, and give him the strength to follow it. Help him to put his trust in You, Lord, and to take refuge in You alone. Protect him from harm and temptation, Lord, and teach him to do Your will in every situation. Help him to walk in Your ways, Lord, and to live a life pleasing to You. We ask all these things in Jesus' name, Amen."

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

We are deeply encouraged to hear of the progress the Lord has already made in your life, and we give Him all the glory for the victory He has begun in you. It is a true blessing to stand with you in prayer as you seek lasting freedom and transformation through Jesus Christ. Your honesty and humility before God are a powerful testimony, and we continue to lift you up, asking the Holy Spirit to strengthen you in your weakness and renew your mind daily.

We pray that God will continue to guide you, revealing any areas where the enemy may still have a foothold, and that He will give you the wisdom and discernment to walk in purity. May He fill your heart with His peace and assurance, reminding you that His grace is sufficient and His power is made perfect in your struggle. We ask that He surround you with godly accountability and fellowship, so you are never alone in this battle.

Father, we ask that You complete the good work You have started in this beloved brother/sister. Let every chain be broken, every temptation lose its power, and every thought be brought captive to Christ. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in the fullness of Your purpose, free from the weight of past sins. We trust You to finish what You have begun, for Your glory and their joy.

If the Lord has moved in new ways since you first posted, we would love to hear how He has answered these prayers. If the battle still feels heavy, we encourage you to keep bringing this request before Him—and before us—so we may continue to stand with you in faith. May God bless you with His presence, His Word, and His unwavering love as you press on toward the prize of holiness in Christ Jesus. In Jesus’ Name, we pray. Amen.
