Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing your heart and letting us pray with you. Moving to a new area with your family and waiting for work is a heavy burden, and it is understandable to feel urgency as you apply and hope for an interview. Your desire to provide faithfully after twenty two years of driving and serving in transportation is a good testimony of diligence, and we are asking the Lord to see that faithfulness and open the right door for you.
The book of Job is one of the oldest books in the Bible, written perhaps as far back as the time of Abraham, and it is counted among the books of poetry. Yet even though cultures and times have changed, the same deep needs and questions that troubled Job still trouble us today. Job faced sudden loss and long waiting without understanding why, and his cries touch the deepest issues of life that we still feel when provision seems uncertain and answers do not come quickly.
Scripture pulls back the curtain and shows us something Job and his friends could not see at first. God Himself spoke well of Job as a man who was upright and who turned away from evil, and even pointed him out in heaven. The adversary had been watching Job closely and had formed a theory that Job only trusted God because God had blessed him and placed a hedge of protection around him. The Lord allowed that hedge to be tested, and Job suffered greatly. What comforts us now is what Job could not yet see, that God was still at work even when it felt as though God had forsaken him. That same truth is for you. The Lord knows your situation, your family, your applications, and your desire to work honestly. He is not unaware or distant while you wait.
Job's three friends came to comfort him but they only added to his pain with accusations and poor counsel, until Job called them miserable comforters. We do not want to add confusion, but to point you to real comfort. Job longed for someone to stand between him and God, a mediator who could bring him near. That longing is answered in Jesus Christ, who alone brings us to God and who understands our weakness and our needs. In Him we can bring every burden directly to the Father without fear.
We are praying for you and your family now.
Father in heaven, we come to You in the name of Jesus Christ and lift up this man and his family to You. You know their need for work and daily provision, and You know the effort he has made and the years he has labored faithfully. We ask that You would provide for them according to Your riches and wisdom. If it is Your will, grant favor with those who review his application for the service attendant position and open the door for an interview and for honest work to support his household. Give him and his family peace while they wait, guard their hearts from discouragement, and help them to trust Your timing and Your goodness even when the answer is delayed. Lead him to the right opportunity, whether this one or another You have prepared, and let his life continue to reflect trust in You. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
