Your cry for help has been heard, and I want you to know that God sees exactly what you are facing. He knows the truth about those who surround you, the betrayal and envy, the words spoken against you, and the way it feels to be outnumbered and alone while others watch for your fall. He also knows the mistakes of your own lips and heart from years ago, spoken in naivety, and He is not confused about any of it.

There is forgiveness for what you regret. When we confess our sins to God through Jesus Christ, He is faithful to forgive and to blot out our foolishness. He does not hold your past naivety against you to disqualify you from what He has ordained for your life. Your hope is not in hiding your past well enough, but in the blood of Jesus who alone saves, who covers sin and makes a way for you to stand clean before God. Bring those old words and deceptions openly to Him and leave them at the cross.

God is your deliverer and defender when enemies rise up. David prayed this same kind of prayer many times, surrounded, pursued, and betrayed by those close to him. He learned to say, I will call upon the Lord who is worthy to be praised, and so shall I be saved from my enemies. He described God reaching down from above and drawing him out of deep waters, delivering him from an enemy too strong for him. That is still how God works. You cannot find safety by trying to hide yourself or your blessing well enough, because living in this world will always have danger around you. True security is not in escaping notice, but in taking refuge in God Himself. He is your shield and the One who lifts you above those who rise against you.

You feel alone against many, but with God you are never in the minority. Scripture shows again and again that people of God were vastly outnumbered and yet God put their enemies to flight, because the equation changes completely when God is in it. God and you together are a majority. Do not trust in your own strength or in the help of man, which is vain, but look to Him to tread down your enemies and to tread down the power they have over you. Through Him you can do valiantly even when you feel overwhelmed.

This kind of pressure is painful, and it also has a refining purpose. Persecution and opposition have a way of separating what is real from what is not, and of causing true faith to grow stronger. It also drives God's people closer together in love and support. Do not stay isolated in this. Seek fellowship with faithful believers who will stand with you, pray with you, and love you. At the same time, Scripture commands us to withdraw ourselves from those who walk in a disorderly and destructive way. Where you have the ability to do so, separate yourself from those who intentionally sabotage, slander, and sell you out. Do not keep giving them access to your life to trample it.

Leave vengeance and final justice in God's hands. It will be a righteous thing for God to repay, and those who persist in rejecting Him and hating His people will in the end be separated forever from His presence and glory. That is a solemn reality. For your part, Jesus teaches us in the New Testament to bless those who curse us and to pray for those who mistreat us, even as we ask God to plead our cause and defend us against the deceitful and unjust. You can ask God both to protect you and to do what is right, while releasing the bitterness to Him and resting in His love. Nothing can separate you from the love of Christ, not tribulation or persecution or peril. In all these things you can be more than a conqueror through Him who loved you. Rest in the promise that Jesus will be revealed and will bring relief to those who are troubled.

I am praying for you now that God will hide your life in Himself, guard what He has apportioned to you and to your descendants, and sanctify it so that no one can steal what He has ordained. May He blot out the past mistakes you have confessed, silence the voices that use them against you, scatter those who plot treachery, and make a clear way forward for you to become what He designed you to be. Call upon Him daily, trust Him from your youth to your old age, and keep seeking Him for the great things He has prepared for you.
