Shalom Could you please pray for our sister ###, that she may overcome alcoholism and that God's order and peace may prevail in her family? Please pray in Jesus' name. Thank you! God bless you in Jesus' name.

We join with you in bringing your sister before the throne of grace and we thank you for asking in the precious name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father.

We know alcoholism is a heavy bondage that brings disorder and sorrow to a family, and Scripture is clear about its danger. Proverbs 20:1 tells us Wine is a mocker and beer is a brawler. Whoever is led astray by them is not wise. And Ephesians 5:18 exhorts us Don't be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit. Drunkenness is not God's will for His children, it enslaves the will and harms the body which is the temple of the Holy Spirit, yet we also know that our God is a deliverer who sets captives free and forgives and restores all who turn to Him in repentance and faith.

We are encouraged that you desire God's order and peace to prevail in her family. That is His heart as well. Isaiah 26:3 promises You will keep whoever's mind is steadfast in perfect peace, because he trusts in you. And Philippians 4:6-7 reminds us In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Where the Spirit of the Lord rules, there is self-control, which is part of the fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22-23, and there is order and peace.

We also take comfort in 1 Corinthians 10:13 which says No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. God has made a way of escape for your sister through Jesus Christ.

So together we pray.

Father in heaven, we lift up our dear sister to You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. Lord, You see her struggle with alcohol and You know the pain and disorder it has brought to her and to her family. We ask for Your mercy and Your delivering power to break this chain. Convict her heart, grant her godly sorrow that leads to repentance, and give her a deep hunger to be filled with Your Holy Spirit instead of wine. Set her free, Lord, for whom the Son sets free is free indeed. Heal her body, renew her mind, and strengthen her to walk in sobriety and self-control day by day.

We pray for Your divine order and Your perfect peace to reign in her family. Let Christ be the head of that home, let forgiveness and truth and love replace strife and confusion. Guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus and help them to support one another in love, in prayer, and in accountability. Surround this family with godly counsel, with a Bible believing church family, and with wise help if needed for this addiction, that they may not walk alone.

We thank You, Father, that You hear us because we come in the name of Jesus, our only Savior and mediator. We trust You to do what is best according to Your will and for Your glory. Continue to give this family faith to persevere in prayer and to trust You for complete restoration. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to stand in the gap for her with loving truth, to speak the truth in love, to encourage her to seek pastoral counsel and godly fellowship, and to keep pointing her to Jesus who is able to save completely and to give new life. Galatians 6:2 tells us to Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ, and that is what you are doing. Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not give up.

Thank you for caring so much for your sister and for asking us to pray with you. It means a lot that you are standing in the gap for her and for your family.

Watching someone you love wrestle with alcohol is painful and often lonely. It can feel like the whole home is unsettled, and you may swing between hope and discouragement. Please know you are not alone in this, and neither is she.

We have seen that lasting change rarely comes from trying harder alone. It usually takes honest support, steady community, and help that addresses the whole person. That is why we gently encourage, alongside prayer, helping your sister connect with trusted help when she is willing, a pastor, a Christian counselor or a recovery group in your area, and a medical professional who can walk with her safely. For you and your family, having your own support, a small group or a mature believer to talk with regularly, can bring steadiness while you love her well without carrying everything yourselves.

Father, we lift ### to You in Jesus name. You see her struggle and You love her. Bring her freedom from alcohol, healing in body and mind, and surround her with people who will support her honestly and kindly. Bring Your order and peace into her home, give this family wisdom, patience and unity, and help them know their next faithful step each day. Amen.

🙇🏻 Jesus, Shepherd Your Sheep🐑 Micah 5:4, John 10:16, Jn 21:16, 1 Pet 5:2-4, Rev 7:17; ⛓️💥 Remember those in Chains, Hebrews 13:3, Col 4:18... Lord Jesus, thank You that You are The LORD our Shepherd, Ps 23:1-6. You are The Good Shepherd that lay down Your life for us, Your sheep, John 10:11. Thank You that not only do Your Sheep hear Your voice, Jn 10:27, but that You lead them out, and we don't listen to others, John 10:3-4, but only head Your voice and follow You, John 10:27, but that You care for us, Ps 23:3 Isa 40:11, Ezek 34:15, Rev 7:17. Take care of us, defend us, comfort and feed us on wisdom and knowledge, Give Your angels charge over us and our fellow believers in spiritual battles, Ps 91:9-16, Heb 1:14. Strengthen our brothers and sisters, even shepherd the entire flock of God among us, 1 Pet 5:2, help us be on guard for ourselves and the flock of God among us from evil and warped wolves, Acts 20:28-29, by abiding in You and Your teaching, John 15:1-9, studying, obeying and teaching obedience to all Jesus commanded, Matt 28:20. Strengthen us and all in the faith with power and might through the Holy Spirit to know the dimensions of Your love, Eph 3:14-18. Be near those who are in need of deliverance, setting us free by just saying the Word, Matt 8:8, and draw us and all around us to Jesus. Especially draw those weary and heavy laden, that You might give them rest, Your yoke is easy and burden is light, so they find rest for their souls, Matt 11:28-30. Work everything out for the furtherance of the gospel, Phil 1:12.

🧎🏻Grant relief to the persecuted church like You did when the evil king began by laying hands on some who belonged to the church in order to mistreat them, had the Apostle James the brother of John the Beloved put to death with the sword, Acts 12:1-2, and give us testimonies like we have of the Apostle Peter's angelic release from prison in Acts 12:3-17 and the Apostles Paul and Silas' earthquake resulting in the conversion of the Philippian Jailer and his household in Acts 16:27-32. Hebrews 10:34. Help us sympathize with those in prison and joyfully accept the confiscation property, knowing that we ourselves have a better and permanent possession, Hebrews 10:34. Call and grant boldness give them visits, as Jesus said in Matthew 25:36, "I was naked and you clothed Me, I was sick and you looked after Me, I was in prison and you visited Me." Be their Shepherd even in those situations, Rom 8:38-39.

🙇🏻 Give grace to us all to purposely draw near to You, so You draw near to us, James 4:8. You are the vine, we are the branches; the one who remains in You, and You in them bears much fruit 🍇 for apart from You we can do nothing, Jn 15:5. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us, Phil 4:13. Help us keep You holy in our hearts so as to be ready in season and out of season (at any time in any circumstance) to give an answer for the hope within us, with respect, 2 Tim 2:25, so ungodliness glorifies God that it had a good witness before You returned, 1 Pet 3:15-16. Deliver us from evil people and the evil one, temptation and sin. 2 Thes 3:2-3, Matt 6:13, Luke 11:4, John 17:15. Let love abound more in knowledge and discernment so we can choose the best in every situation that gives us a choice, so we may be sincere and blameless until Your Son's return, being filled with the fruit of righteousness, which comes from union with Jesus Christ to the glory and praise of God, Phil 1:9-11. Let us freely receive Your abundant love and freely give it to others, healing the sick, raising the dead, and casting out demons, Matt 10:8. Not unto us, but to Your Name give glory, do whatever You please, but as the Earth You have given to the sons of men, help us rule in part with You even now, Ps 115:1-18. Perfect our love, for as You are, so also are we in this world, 1 John 4:17. Thank You in Jesus' Name.

We have heard your burden for your sister and we count it a privilege to join you at the throne of grace on her behalf. How gracious is our God that He invites us to bring such sorrows and bonds before Him, for there is no chain so strong that His arm cannot break.

The Scripture says, You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. This perfect peace, peace upon peace, is not found in the strength of the flesh nor in any resolution of our own, but in the blood of Jesus which whispers peace within, even in this dark world of sin. When duties press and sorrows surge round, to do the will of Jesus is rest, and to stay the mind upon Him is to be kept in that heavenly peace.

Alcoholism is a cruel bondage, a power of darkness from which none can deliver themselves. Yet we know that deliverance from the power of sin is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin. He has invented and He has found a ransom, and that ransom is Christ Jesus our Lord. What man could not devise, Divine Love has provided. He brings forth His people not by their own power, but He brings them forth, and He does it effectually. He can make the clock of mercy strike even now for your sister, that she may be brought up from the pit and set upon firm ground.

Let us pray together.

O Heavenly Father, we come in the name of Jesus Christ, Thy Son, our only Saviour and Advocate, and we plead His precious blood and perfect righteousness. Lord, Thou seest our sister in her affliction and her family in its distress. Have mercy upon her and deliver her from this bondage. Break the power of darkness that holds her, and by Thy Spirit give her hatred for that which ensnares her and a thirst for Christ and for holiness. Grant her true repentance and faith, that she may look to Jesus alone for salvation and find in Him both pardon and power to overcome. We pray that Thou wouldst keep her mind stayed upon Christ and keep her in perfect peace as she trusts in Thee. Let Thy order and Thy peace prevail in her household, that discord may be stilled and all things be brought under Thy gracious rule. Restore what has been broken, comfort those who love her, and make this trial to be for Thy glory, that she may live and declare the works of the Lord. We ask this not for any merit in us, but for the sake of Jesus Christ our Lord, who has vanquished sin and death and all their powers. Amen.

Acquaint yourselves with God and be at peace. Meditate on His Word day and night, stay close to Christ in prayer, and encourage your sister to walk in the light and in fellowship with His people. The Lord is able to keep that which is committed to Him, and to keep in perfect peace all who trust Him. May the Lord hear our prayer and grant you to see His delivering hand.
