Disciple of Prayer
Father I'm going going thru a really hard time in my life. I started drinking again and having a lot of other personal issues mentally and emotionally. I'm going back into the sober home tomorrow but tonight right now I'm struggling with a lot of demons like fear and a deep depression. I keep thinking of all my regrets and mistakes I made and how I hurt the ones I loved. I have shame and guilt and also fear of a new beginning tomorrow and not knowing anyone. I trust in you father I know you've never left my side. Right now I'm just scared and I feel all alone and I have this unbearable depression. I need prayers and comfort tonight. Please help me I'm so sad! In Jesus mighty name I pray Amen!

We hear the deep anguish in your heart, and we are lifting you up in prayer right now, knowing that our Heavenly Father is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). You have done well to cry out to God in Jesus’ mighty name, for there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved or find true comfort (Acts 4:12). He has not left your side, and He never will—even in this dark night of fear and depression, He is holding you close.

The shame and guilt you carry are heavy burdens, but we remind you that Jesus came to set the captives free (Luke 4:18). The enemy wants to keep you bound by regret and condemnation, but God’s Word declares that *there is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus* (Romans 8:1). Your past mistakes do not define you—Christ’s redemption does. He is making all things new (Revelation 21:5), and that includes your story. Repentance is the first step, and you’ve already taken it by turning back toward sobriety and seeking God’s help. That is a victory worth praising Him for!

The fear of the unknown tomorrow is real, but we urge you to cling to this truth: *God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and sound mind* (2 Timothy 1:7). You are not alone, even if it feels that way. The Lord goes before you into that sober home, and He will provide the strength and community you need. He promises to *never leave you nor forsake you* (Deuteronomy 31:6), and He will place people in your path to walk alongside you. Trust that He is already at work, even in the details you cannot see yet.

As for the depression that feels unbearable tonight, we plead the blood of Jesus over your mind and emotions. The Lord is close to you in this suffering, and He collects every tear you cry (Psalm 56:8). Cast *all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you* (1 Peter 5:7). This battle is not yours to fight alone—Jesus has already overcome the world (John 16:33), and His power is greater than the darkness pressing in.

We also want to gently but firmly address the drinking. Scripture warns that *wine is a mocker and beer is a brawler; whoever is led astray by them is not wise* (Proverbs 20:1). You are making the right choice to return to the sober home, and we pray God grants you the perseverance to walk in freedom from this stronghold. Addiction is a lie that promises relief but only brings bondage. True freedom is found in Christ alone, and He is breaking those chains tonight.

---
**Let us pray with you:**

Father God, we lift up Your beloved child to You right now, knowing You see their pain and hear their cries. Lord, You are the God of all comfort (2 Corinthians 1:3), and we ask You to wrap them in Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Break the spirit of depression and fear off them in Jesus’ name. Replace their shame with Your righteousness, their guilt with Your forgiveness, and their loneliness with Your presence.

We rebuked the lies of the enemy that say they are defined by their past or that they are beyond hope. By the power of the Holy Spirit, we declare that they are *more than a conqueror through Christ who loves them* (Romans 8:37). Give them the strength to face tomorrow with courage, knowing You have already gone before them. Provide godly friendships and mentors in the sober home who will point them to You.

Lord, we pray for complete deliverance from the grip of alcohol. Fill the void in their heart with more of You, for You alone satisfy (Psalm 107:9). Heal their mind, renew their hope, and restore their joy. Let them wake up tomorrow with a supernatural peace, knowing that *this is the day that You have made* (Psalm 118:24), and You will walk with them every step.

We thank You that You are turning their mourning into dancing (Psalm 30:11) and that their story is not over—it is being rewritten by Your hand. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. **Amen.**

---
Hold fast to these promises tonight, dear one. Play worship music, read Psalm 23 aloud, and let God’s truth fill your mind. You are not abandoned—you are *fearfully and wonderfully made* (Psalm 139:14), and your life has purpose in Christ. The road ahead may feel uncertain, but God is already there, preparing the way. Keep your eyes on Him, not the waves of fear (Matthew 14:30). We are standing with you in prayer, believing for your breakthrough. You are loved more than you know.

We're right here with you, friend. We feel the weight of your heart, the struggle you're facing tonight. We want you to know, you're not alone. We're lifting you up in prayer, just as we're sure God is holding you close. We claim His promise, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you" (Hebrews 13:5). He's right there, in the midst of your depression and fear.

You've taken a brave step towards sobriety, and that's a victory worth celebrating. Remember, God doesn't see you through the lens of your past mistakes. He sees you through the blood of Jesus, and He's making all things new (2 Corinthians 5:17). Your past doesn't define you; Jesus does.

The fear of the unknown tomorrow is real, but we want to remind you of this truth: "For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline" (2 Timothy 1:7). God is already preparing the way for tomorrow. Trust that He's got this.

As for the depression that feels unbearable tonight, we claim God's promise: "Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you" (Psalm 55:22). He's close to you in your suffering, and He's collecting every tear you cry (Psalm 56:8). This battle isn't yours to fight alone; Jesus has already overcome the world (John 16:33). Trust in His power and love.

We're also here to support you in your journey towards sobriety. Addiction is a lie that promises relief but only brings bondage. True freedom is found in Christ alone, and He's breaking those chains tonight.

Let's pray together: "Father, we lift up our friend to You. We ask for Your comfort and peace to surround them tonight. Break the spirit of depression and fear off of them, Lord. Replace their shame with Your righteousness, their guilt with Your forgiveness, and their loneliness with Your presence. Give them the strength to face tomorrow with courage, knowing You've gone before them. Provide godly friendships and mentors in the sober home who will point them to You. Heal their mind, renew their hope, and restore their joy. In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen."

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
