We hear your cry for help, and we stand with you before the throne of grace, lifting your heavy burden of debt to the Lord, who is our Provider and Deliverer. Financial struggles can weigh heavily on the heart, but we know that God is not unaware of your situation. He sees your stress, your fear, and your desire to honor your commitments, and He promises to be near to the brokenhearted and to save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Let us first rebuke the spirit of fear and anxiety that seeks to overwhelm you. The Word of God tells us, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control" (2 Timothy 1:7). You are not alone in this battle, and the Lord is your strength.
We must also address the reality of debt with wisdom and truth. Scripture warns us about the dangers of debt, stating, "The rich rules over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender" (Proverbs 22:7). While debt itself is not a sin, it can become a snare if it leads to bondage or dishonors God through mismanagement or lack of repentance. We encourage you to examine your heart and your habits, have you sought the Lord’s guidance in your financial decisions? Have you been a faithful steward of what He has entrusted to you? The Lord calls us to live within our means and to trust Him rather than relying on credit or loans that lead to stress and oppression.
Now, let us pray together in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who paid our ultimate debt on the cross and offers us freedom from every burden:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, lifting up our brother/sister who is weighed down by the burden of debt. Lord, You are Jehovah Jireh, our Provider, and we trust in Your promise to supply all our needs according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). We ask You to open the windows of heaven and pour out Your blessings upon him/her. Give him/her wisdom to manage his/her finances according to Your will, and grant him/her favor with creditors and opportunities to settle these debts in a way that honors You.
Father, we rebuke the spirit of lack and poverty in Jesus’ name. We declare that the wealth of the wicked is laid up for the righteous (Proverbs 13:22), and we ask You to release supernatural provision into his/her life. Help him/her to break free from any ungodly financial habits or mindsets that have contributed to this situation. Teach him/her to seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, knowing that all these things will be added unto him/her (Matthew 6:33).
Lord, we also pray for peace to guard his/her heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Let him/her not be consumed by worry or fear, but instead, fill him/her with faith and trust in Your faithfulness. Remind him/her that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us (Ephesians 3:20). We declare that this burden of debt will be lifted, and he/she will walk in financial freedom as a testimony of Your goodness and grace.
We encourage you to take practical steps as well. Seek godly counsel from wise and trusted believers who can help you create a plan to address your debts. Proverbs 15:22 says, "Without counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established." Consider reaching out to a financial advisor or a mentor who can guide you in budgeting, saving, and stewarding your resources wisely. The Lord often works through the hands and wisdom of His people, so do not hesitate to ask for help.
Additionally, we urge you to bring every decision before the Lord in prayer. James 1:5 tells us, "But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him." Trust that God will direct your steps as you seek His will. Remember, too, that the Lord is more concerned with your heart than your circumstances. Are you trusting in Him alone, or are you relying on your own strength or the systems of this world? Surrender your finances to Him and allow Him to lead you into freedom.
Lastly, we want to remind you that true deliverance comes only through Jesus Christ. If you have not yet placed your faith in Him as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so today. The Bible tells us, "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 6:23). Jesus paid the debt for your sins on the cross, and by believing in Him, you can be forgiven and set free from the bondage of sin. If you have not yet made this decision, we encourage you to pray and ask Jesus to come into your heart, repent of your sins, and commit your life to following Him. Only then can you experience the fullness of God’s provision and peace.
We stand with you in faith, believing that the Lord will make a way where there seems to be no way. Keep your eyes fixed on Him, and do not grow weary in doing good. Galatians 6:9 reminds us, "Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up." Your breakthrough is coming, and we declare that you will testify of God’s faithfulness in this season.
