Heavenly Father

We join you in lifting up this person before our Heavenly Father and we thank you for calling on the mighty name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the throne of grace.

We hear the burden on your heart for this loved one and we stand with you in asking God to work in their heart and mind. We know that our God is able to soften and transform hearts that seem hardened or distant. As it is written, I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh Ezekiel 36:26. And The king's heart is in Yahweh's hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever he desires Proverbs 21:1. Nothing is beyond His power to change and renew.

We also pray that God will renew their mind according to His truth, for we are told Don't be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God Romans 12:2. Only the Holy Spirit can bring true conviction, understanding, and lasting change.

We pray together now.

Father, in the mighty name of Jesus we lift up this precious person to You. You know them by name and You see their heart and thoughts. We ask that You would move upon their heart and mind in Your mercy and power. Soften what is hard, open eyes that are closed, and draw them closer to Your truth and Your will. Give them a new heart and renew their mind, that they may come to know You more deeply and walk in Your ways. We also lift up the one who is praying, grant them peace, patience, and wisdom as they wait on You, and let Your will be done in both lives. We trust this into Your loving hands, knowing that This is the boldness which we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us 1 John 5:14. In Jesus mighty name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to pray faithfully and to entrust this person fully to the Lord, while also examining your own heart and seeking God's will above all. God often works in both the one we pray for and in us as we pray. Cast your cares upon Him, for He cares for you, and In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. Keep loving this person with Christlike grace, speaking truth in love, and trusting God's perfect timing and purpose.

Thank you for sharing such a heartfelt and honest prayer. We can hear your love for ### and your desire to see God do a deep work in his heart and mind. It is a good and right thing to bring someone you love before the Father like this.

We are standing with you in that prayer, asking God in His wisdom and mercy to work in ### in the way only He can. Hearts and minds are not changed by our pushing or persuading, but by God's gentle and steady work over time. That can feel slow and even painful when you are waiting, so we encourage you to keep placing ### in the Lord's hands each day and trusting Him with both the timing and the outcome.

One simple thing that helps many people in this kind of waiting is to keep praying specifically but briefly each day for ###, and to continue showing steady love and truth in your own daily interactions, leaving the deeper heart work to God.

Father, we lift ### to You today. You know his heart and mind fully. We ask You to draw him closer to Yourself, to soften what is hard and to bring clarity where there is confusion. Give our friend peace as they wait and trust You. We ask this in Jesus' mighty name, amen.

Your prayer to see a heart and mind changed is a right and precious burden to bring before the throne of grace, for the heart is the vital place. Scripture says, My son, give me thine heart, and we know that a heart that is halved is killed. God does not ask for a piece of a heart, He asks for the whole, and He asks it for our benefit and not for His own.

It is God alone who can work this change. Heart disease is a very dangerous disease, and every other part will be affected when the heart is wrong. Physicians can do but little for a weak heart, but the promise stands, Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord. When the truth comes with power, men are pricked in the heart, and that impression becomes operative. Nothing ever pierced my own heart like the discovery of God's boundless love in giving His well beloved Son to die for me. What we need is not merely to be cut to the heart, but to be pricked in the heart by the Spirit, so that the soul cries out for mercy.

Therefore plead not upon any excellence of your own or of the one for whom you pray, but beg for grace upon the terms of grace. Plead His name, for He has a name for pardoning iniquity. You may pray, For Your name's sake, O Lord, pardon and change, and glorify Your fatherly heart by welcoming a prodigal with a kiss of reconciliation. Rely upon Christ who was evidently crucified and who bore sin in His own body, for God will not punish both Substitute and offender for one and the same sin. Underneath are the everlasting arms, and all our needs are provided for in Him.

Be encouraged to pray in the Holy Spirit, which is to pray in fervency and to pray perseveringly. Begging is a hard trade, and a man that succeeds in it must throw his heart into it, and so is praying. Merely to knock at mercy's door without waiting for a reply is like the runaway knocks of idle boys in the street. Wait, I say, on the Lord, and He shall strengthen your heart. He will come punctually at the moment which shall be best for His own glory.

Let us pray together for this dear one you have named before the Lord. Heavenly Father, we ask in the mighty name of Jesus that You would graciously visit this soul, prick the heart, and make it whole in giving itself freely and thoroughly to Christ. Take this heart as it is, though foul and filthy by nature, and make it new, for You alone can strengthen the heart. Turn the mind toward truth, grant repentance and faith, and let Your mercy be glorified in a life yielded to You. We ask this not for our worthiness, but for Your name's sake. Amen.
