Heavenly Father

We join with you in lifting up this dear man before the throne of grace and we thank you for standing in the gap for him and interceding for his deliverance in the mighty name of Jesus.

We know that addiction is a heavy bondage but we serve a God who is able to set the captives free. Scripture tells us to live with clear and sober minds, for 1 Peter 5:8 says Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. And Ephesians 5:18 says Don't be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit. His body is not his own but is meant to honor God, for 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 says Or don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's.

We pray that the Lord will place a deep desire in his heart to turn from what enslaves him and to seek wholeness in Christ, for only Jesus can truly make him new. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new. And John 8:36 says If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed. We ask the Father to surround him with godly men who will speak truth in love, minister to him with grace, hold him accountable, and point him continually to Jesus. We pray that any isolation, shame, or despair would be broken, for Psalm 34:18 says Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit.

We pray together, Father in heaven, we lift this precious man to You in the name of Jesus Christ. You see his struggle and You love him more than we do. We ask You to send laborers across his path who will minister to him, who will not condemn him but will lovingly lead him toward repentance and sobriety. Soften his heart to receive help and give him a willing spirit to desire sobriety and to desire You above all else. Break the chains of addiction and fill him with Your Holy Spirit, that he may find strength not in himself but in Christ. Give him victory one day at a time and surround him with a community of believers who will walk with him, pray with him, and encourage him to remain steadfast. Comfort and strengthen the one who is interceding for him and remind them that James 5:16 says The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective. We trust You to work in his life for Your glory and his good, in Jesus' mighty name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to continue to pray fervently and also to help connect him, as the Lord opens doors, to a Bible believing church and to godly counsel where he can find ongoing support and discipleship. God is faithful to finish the work He begins and we will continue to stand with you in prayer for his complete restoration and sobriety in Christ.

We are grateful you brought ### before the Lord so simply and faithfully. Loving someone who is struggling with drinking or drugs can feel heavy and lonely, and your prayer shows real care for him.

We have seen how addiction tends to isolate a person, and how much steady, caring presence matters over time. Wanting to get sober has to come from within, and we cannot create that desire for someone else, but God can use faithful people around him to keep truth and love close and to keep a door open when he is ready to take a next step.

One gentle next step that often helps is not carrying this alone. If you have a pastor or a couple of mature believers who know you and care about ###, consider sharing your concern with them privately and asking if they would pray regularly with you and help you think through how to reach out to him with both honesty and grace. Many families also find it strengthens them to connect with a support group or a counselor who understands addiction, alongside prayer, so you have support while you support him.

We are praying with you.

Father, we lift ### to You and ask You to surround him with people who will speak truth in love and point him toward help. Give him moments of clarity and willingness to reach for sobriety, and give our friend wisdom, patience and peace as they love him well. Guide each next step according to Your will. In Jesus mighty name, amen.

Your burden for this soul is a right and Christlike burden, and we join our hearts with yours in prayer for him.

It is a gracious thing to ask the Lord to send labourers to seek after one lost sheep, for our Great Shepherd does not despise one because he is only one, nor because that one has gone astray. He puts forth special exertion for the rescue of the lost one, and there is special rejoicing in heaven when that one is restored. Though it is easier to speak to many in the mass, the Lord would have us seek souls one by one, and we may pray with confidence that He will send one after another to speak personally and tenderly to this dear man of his soul and of Christ.

We know that the strong man armed keeps his house and holds the poor sinner in bondage, whether the chain be strong drink or any other sin. But Christ is the Stronger One who has come to drive out the strong one. He has never made truce or parley with the evil one, and when He strikes a blow it is meant to destroy, not to amend. What man cannot do by resolve or reform, the Lord Jesus can do by His mighty grace. He loved us before He washed us, and He washes those He loves, and He can give a new heart and set the captive free indeed.

Let us pray together.

Heavenly Father, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ our only Savior, we bring this man before Thy throne of grace. Thou knowest his name and his need, Thou hast called Thy people by name and Thou art the Holy One who loves with an everlasting love. Send, we beseech Thee, faithful men and women to minister to him, to speak the gospel plainly and lovingly, to tell him that Christ died and rose to save sinners. By Thy Holy Spirit awaken in him a true sight of his need and a sincere desire to be sober and to be made whole. Break the power of this bondage, forgive his many offenses through the blood of Jesus, and justify him by Thy free gift. Keep those who labour for his soul bold and persevering, and let them not grow weary in well doing. We ask not for a mere outward reformation, but for a new birth, that he may reign in life by one, Jesus Christ. Grant repentance, grant faith, grant deliverance, for Thy glory alone. In Jesus mighty name, Amen.

Continue to plead for him and to watch for the Lord's working. He who has loved His own to the end is able to do more in one half hour than we can do in many hours of our own striving. Cast this soul upon Christ daily, and trust that the Lord in His own time will bring His word to bear upon his heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer for this man to be surrounded by people who will minister to him and help him desire sobriety is heard, and we join you in bringing it before the Lord.

It is a true work of love to intercede for another in this way, to love not only when it is easy or returned, but for Christ's sake with a sincere love that seeks his good. That kind of love is patient and steady, and it reflects how Christ Himself loved us when we were far from Him and gave Himself for us so that we might have life and hope.

We pray with you that God in His mercy will place faithful and caring people around him, brothers and sisters in Christ who will walk with him, speak truth with grace, and provoke him toward love and good works. We are made to be one body in Christ, members of one another, and God often uses the gathering of His people to make love more warm and to strengthen us to turn from what harms us. We ask that the Lord will use that fellowship to encourage him, to lift him up when he is weak, and to point him continually to Jesus Christ, in whom alone is salvation and true freedom.

We also pray that God will work in his heart to give him a genuine desire for sobriety and for wholeness, that He will free him from the hold of addiction, heal what has been broken, and give him strength to walk in a new way. May the Lord grant him clarity to see the path of life, courage to accept help, and faith to trust Christ fully.

We will continue to pray for him and for you as you love him through prayer. May the Lord give you perseverance in intercession and may He be glorified as He brings help, healing, and hope according to His perfect will.

Heavenly Father, we ask You to send laborers to minister to this man, to surround him with Your people who will love him well and lead him toward You. Grant him a desire to be sober and to seek You, deliver him by Your power, and draw him to salvation and new life in Jesus Christ. In Jesus mighty name we pray, amen.
