Heavenly Father

We join with you in lifting this man before the throne of grace and we thank you for coming in the mighty name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father.

We hear your burden for this man to have a changed heart and changed ways and we agree that God alone can do that deep work within. We are reminded that The king's heart is in Yahweh's hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever he desires. Proverbs 21:1. No heart is too hard for the Lord to soften and no habit is too strong for Him to break when there is repentance.

We pray together now for him and for you.

Father in heaven, we bring this man before You and ask that You would convict his heart by Your Holy Spirit, open his eyes to see where his ways do not align with Your truth, and draw him to repentance. We ask that You would give him a new heart and put a new spirit within him and take away his stony heart and give him a heart of flesh. Ezekiel 36:26. Transform him by the renewing of his mind so that he may prove what is Your good and acceptable and perfect will. Romans 12:2. We ask that You would surround him with godly influence, remove influences that lead him astray, and lead him into Your Word which is a lamp to his feet. We also pray for the one who submitted this request, that You would give peace, patience, and wisdom while You are working, and help them to speak the truth in love and to set healthy and biblical boundaries without enabling sin.

We encourage you to continue to intercede for him with love and persistence, trusting that The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness, but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9. God desires his repentance and transformation far more than we do. Keep praying, keep entrusting him to the Lord, and if the Lord gives you opportunity, share His truth graciously, remembering that God changes hearts as we remain faithful in prayer and obedience. We trust God to work in His perfect timing and for His glory.

We continue to stand with you in Jesus name, believing that God hears and answers according to His perfect will.

Thank you for trusting us with this prayer for ###. We can hear the love and concern behind your few words, and the weight of wanting someone you care about to turn toward what is good.

It is painful to love someone and feel unable to change them. We want you to know we are standing with you in prayer, asking God to work in his heart in ways only He can, and to give you peace as you wait and love him well.

One thing that often helps when the burden feels heavy is to keep your prayers simple and steady, and to not carry this alone. If you have a trusted pastor or mature Christian friend, consider sharing this burden with one person who can pray with you regularly and offer wise, calm perspective. It can make the waiting less isolating.

Father, we lift ### to You now. You know his heart and his ways. We ask You to gently draw him toward You and give him a desire for what is right and true. Give our friend who is praying wisdom, patience and strength to love well and to rest in Your care. Lead them both according to Your will. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your prayer for another's heart is itself a precious sign that God has poured upon you the spirit of grace and of supplications. It is God who writes intercession upon the hearts of His people, and wherever you meet with one who pleads for his fellow men you see one of the most precious gifts of His grace.

We join you in asking the Lord to work in this man's heart according to His own perfect will. Scripture says, I will pour upon the house of David and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem the spirit of grace and of supplications and they shall look upon Me whom they have pierced and they shall mourn for Him. True change does not come by mere resolve or outward reformation, but when a soul is brought to look upon Christ crucified for sinners and to mourn for sin as one mourns for an only son. That sorrow which pierces to the quick is not what we bring to Christ to earn His favor, but what we receive when we trust Him. You never will have that bitterness till you believe in Christ, and in believing you find He has borne your sin and you then love Him because He first loved you.

So we pray not only for a change of ways, but for a change of heart. Hear how the Lord Himself pleads, My son give Me thine heart. He asks for the heart out of love for you, not for what He may get from you, and when the heart is given, the ways will follow. If Christ is worth loving, let the heart be yielded to Him once and for all, trusting in Him alone for salvation, for there is no other name by which we must be saved.

Remember also that the Holy Spirit maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God, and He helps our infirmities when we know not how to pray as we ought. Even when we can only groan, He makes intercession with groanings which cannot be uttered. Your intercession is fellowship with Christ Himself, who ever lives to make intercession within the veil and who spent whole nights in prayer for those He loved. To pray for others is to be in sympathy with Him who made intercession for the transgressors.

Be of good courage therefore and continue steadfast in prayer. He who hears you is able to strengthen the heart, for He alone can strengthen it. Keep looking to Jesus and keep pleading for this soul, that God would grant him repentance unto life, faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, and a new heart that loves what God loves and walks in His ways. Even if the answer tarries, nothing is more restful to the heart than to have prayed, and the Lord who preserves the faithful will do what is right and good.

We pray with you now, Father, in the mighty name of Jesus, pour out Thy grace upon this man. Cause him to look upon Christ whom he has pierced, to mourn for sin, to turn from it, and to give his heart wholly to Thee through faith in Thy Son alone. Make Thy will known and give power to do it, for Christ's sake. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer for ### to have his heart changed is a good and faithful prayer, and we join you in it before the Lord.

God is righteous and powerful and also longsuffering, and His patience is meant to lead us to repentance. Scripture says that because of His goodness He gives space and time to turn from sin, not to continue in it, so that we may put off what is old and be made new. True change is not only outward but inward, a renewal in the spirit of the mind and the creation of a clean heart within, which only God can do and which we must also seek with sincere turning away from dead works.

We pray with you that God would work in ### to bring a real foundation of repentance, a sorrow for sin that leads to turning from it, and a desire for what is pure and holy. The Lord loves even those who are far off and calls all to come to salvation through Jesus Christ alone, and there is hope for anyone who has fallen to be restored as Christ is formed in them, if they will not harden their heart but respond to His call.

We encourage you to keep praying with love and patience, speaking the truth in love, and trusting God to do His work in His time. Pray that ### would see his need for forgiveness, turn to Christ for mercy, and walk in the new life that God gives, living according to God's design for holiness, including His design for marriage as a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman and for purity in all relationships.

Let us pray together: Heavenly Father, we ask in the mighty name of Jesus that You would touch ###'s heart, open his eyes to Your truth, grant him repentance that leads to life, wash his heart and make it clean, and renew his mind by Your Spirit. Lead him to turn from every way that is not pleasing to You and to follow Christ fully. Give peace and strength to the one who is praying, to continue in love and faithfulness. Amen.

Your prayer for him is heard and it is right to bring him before the Lord in this way. God is most concerned with the heart. What matters to Him is not only outward behavior but an inward change, a heart that is turned toward Him and made new by His Spirit. The Scriptures speak of a circumcision of the heart and a clean conscience before God, which means the real work must happen inside, where only God can work.

When we pray for someone to change his ways, we are praying for more than regret or words. Sorrow alone is not repentance, and even tears do not always mean a true turning. Esau sought the blessing with tears but he did not truly repent, and Pharaoh confessed his sin and asked for prayer yet his heart did not change. He first hardened his own heart in rebellion, and then God made that hardness firm. True repentance means a change of heart and direction, a turning away from what is wrong and a turning to God.

Only God can create that change. He is the one who works in us to give us both the desire and the ability to do His will. So we can ask Him to soften this man's heart, to make him aware of his need, to remove any hardness or resistance, and to place within him a new desire for what is holy and right. We can ask that he would come to know the love of Jesus, who loved His own to the very end, completely and fully, and that this love would draw him.

As you pray for him, continue to love as Christ has loved you. Jesus gave a new commandment that we love one another as He has loved us, and that we forgive as we have been forgiven, with kindness and a tender heart. No one has seen God, but when we love one another His love is made complete in us. Ask the Holy Spirit to work that kind of love in your own heart as well, so that you can show patience, grace and truth toward this man while you wait for God to work.

Let us pray together. Father, in the name of Jesus we bring this man before You. You see his heart and his life. We ask that by Your Holy Spirit You would work within him, soften his heart, open his eyes, and grant him true repentance that leads to a changed life. Lead him to turn from anything that dishonors You and to walk in fellowship with You, for to be one with You is true life. Give him a new heart that desires You above all else. And give the one who is praying grace to love and forgive as You have loved and forgiven, trusting You to do what only You can do. Amen.
