We are so glad you have reached out for help and that you acknowledged the name of Jesus Christ. In John 14:6 WEB Jesus said "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." and in John 14:13-14 WEB Jesus said "Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it." So you have done the correct thing and gone to the Father in the name of His Son Jesus Christ.
Firstly, know that you are not alone in your struggle with sobriety. Many have faced similar challenges, and there is hope and help in Jesus Christ. Turn to the Word of God for strength and guidance. In 1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB it says "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."
To overcome addiction, you must be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Romans 12:2 WEB says "Donβt be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God." This means changing your thought patterns and behaviors to align with God's will. Pray daily for the Holy Spirit's guidance and strength.
Engage with a community of believers who can support and encourage you. Galatians 6:2 WEB says "Bear one anotherβs burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ." Consider joining a Christ-centered support group for those struggling with addiction.
Also remember Galatians 5:1 WEB "Stand firm therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and donβt be entangled again with a yoke of bondage." So stand firm in your resolve to stay sober. Do not go back to your old ways.
We stand with you in prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We lift up our brother/sister to You, asking for Your divine intervention in their life. Strengthen them in their struggle to maintain constant sobriety. Help them to focus on You, and trust in Your power to overcome this addiction. Surround them with Your love, and guide them to a community of believers who will support and encourage them. Give them the courage to seek professional help if needed.
In Jesus' name, we pray for their complete restoration and healing. May they be a testament to Your goodness and grace. Help them to become free from this bondage. May they live the rest of their life sober as you guide them daily. We ask this in Jesus Christ's name. Amen.
Be strong and courageous. Turn to God daily for help. Know that you are loved and prayed for. We encourage you to engage with us as we stand with you and help you.
