Thank you for sharing this need and allowing us to pray with you. Going without heat and hot water is a real hardship, especially when you are waiting on a repair and hoping it will be finished as promised. I am praying with you that the work will be completed today and that heat and hot water will be fully restored to your building without further delay, and that you will be kept safe and comfortable in the meantime.
Even in these small but trying daily interruptions, God invites us to grow in our walk with Him and to learn a deeper trust. Scripture tells us that one purpose of the Word is to give us patience and comfort, and that this leads to hope. He is described as the God of patience and the God of comfort. He is long suffering and patient as He works out His purposes, as we see in how He worked patiently with Abraham before the promised son was born, and in how He waits as a farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth and for the early and latter rains.
We are reminded in Hebrews that we have need of patience, that after we have done the will of God we might receive the promise, and that those who went before us inherited the promises through faith and patience. James encourages us to be patient and to establish our hearts, and points to Job as an example of endurance through affliction, showing that the Lord is full of pity and tender mercy.
Times of waiting also test where our trust truly rests. It is easy to trust when everything is comfortable, but God often allows us to be brought to a place where our own resources are not enough so that we learn not to lean on our own understanding or on human promises alone, but to trust the Lord with all our heart. The trying of our faith produces patience, and patience allowed to do its perfect work brings maturity. We are called to acknowledge Him and to ask in faith without wavering, believing He will direct our path.
There was even in the law of Moses a provision for the cleansing of leprosy, a disease that was humanly incurable. God made a way for what was impossible by nature, showing that He can make provision for what we cannot fix ourselves. How much more has He made provision for our greatest need, the cleansing of sin, through faith in Jesus Christ, when we put our trust in Him as Savior and Lord.
So I pray that God will supply what you need today, that He will give the workers skill and that the system will function properly again. I pray also that He will give you His patience and comfort from the Scriptures while you wait, and a quiet confidence that He sees your situation and cares for you. May you experience His nearness and hope in this waiting, and may your trust in Him be strengthened through it.
