Beloved of All
Your request has been heard and we are joining you in prayer for ### during this oppressive heat. To see a loved one struggle daily because his body cannot regulate its temperature after a brain injury is a heavy burden, and it is right that you have brought it before the Lord and before his people.
We pray that God in his mercy will sustain him through each hot day, ease the distress on his body, and keep him from harm until cooler weather comes. We ask the Lord to give him strength to endure this trial, to grant wisdom to you and to those caring for him to keep him cool and safe, and to give you both rest and peace as you wait for relief.
Scripture teaches us that endurance in suffering is not wasted. When we suffer, God does not abandon us but works within us, and his comfort is present even in the heat of affliction. There is nothing so strong as a soul that bears hardship with patience and trust in Christ, for such patience guards the heart like a wall and allows grace to do its work. Even as Christ was glorified through suffering and was made the captain of our salvation that way, so he draws near to those who suffer and perfects and strengthens them through it.
We do not pray lightly, knowing that this weakness of the body is real and painful, but we pray with confidence that God sees him, loves him, and is able to uphold him. May the Lord cool his body, calm his spirit, protect his health, and comfort you as you care for him.
We will continue to pray that the Lord will bring the relief you are waiting for quickly, that he will grant daily grace to get through each day, and that you both will feel his presence and sustaining power in this season. May God grant healing, endurance, and peace in Christ. Amen.
