Heart aorte surgery, sepsis, coma

We are joining you in prayer for this brother and for your whole family in this very serious and painful time with heart surgery, sepsis and moving in and out of coma. God sees him in that hospital room and He sees each of you who love him and are carrying this burden.

We are asking the Lord for His healing mercy. When Jesus walked among us He showed His power over every kind of sickness and infirmity, healing one person with a touch, another with a word from a distance, sometimes instantly and sometimes gradually. All healing comes from Him, whether it comes in a moment or through the slow processes He has built into the body and through the care of doctors and nurses. That process itself is from God, who created our bodies to heal. We do not always understand why some are healed quickly and others are not. Scripture is honest about this. Even the apostle Paul prayed three times for his own affliction and learned that God did not remove it, yet God's grace was sufficient. Matthew reminds us that Isaiah's prophecy that He bore our sicknesses points to Christ who gave His body for us, and we can bring every physical need to Him with confidence, while also trusting His perfect wisdom and will.

What weighs most heavily on our hearts as we pray is salvation, because healing of the body, as precious as it is, is not as great as the healing of the soul. The greatest miracle in any life is the forgiveness of sins and new life in Jesus Christ. The Bible says if we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in our heart that God raised Him from the dead, we will be saved, for with the heart we believe and with the mouth we confess unto salvation. There will be a day when every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord, but that confession then will not bring salvation, it will only acknowledge the truth that was rejected. That is why Scripture urges us, now is the accepted time, now is the day of salvation. In Noah's day the door of the ark was open for a time, then God shut it and the opportunity was past. While the door is open, anyone who will may come. Jesus said whoever comes to Him He will never cast out, and He became through His cross the author of eternal salvation for all who trust Him. There is no other provision for sin, only through His shed blood.

So we are praying for two things together. We are asking God, if it be His will, to rebuke this infection, to restore this brother to consciousness and health, and to give wisdom and strength to those caring for him. And we are praying with even greater urgency that he and every member of the family would put their trust in Jesus Christ now, submitting to Him as Savior and Lord, and know the certainty of eternal life. To work out your salvation with fear and trembling does not mean to work for it, it means to walk it out with reverence, trusting fully in what Christ has already done and living in obedience to Him day by day.

May the Lord draw near to this brother even where he cannot speak for himself, and may He comfort and sustain your family, binding up broken hearts and giving peace that passes understanding as you look to Jesus, the one who has power over sickness, over the spiritual realm, and over death itself. We entrust him into the hands of the Lord who is our salvation, asking for both healing for the body and eternal life for the soul, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

We thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf and we are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer for this precious man who underwent heart and aorta surgery.

We have continued to lift him up before the Lord, asking for His healing touch upon the complications, the sepsis and the coma that has caused him to go in and out of consciousness two to three times while still in the hospital. We have also been praying for his salvation and for the salvation and comfort of his whole family during this very difficult time.

We cling to the promise in Jeremiah 30:17 that He will restore health and heal wounds, and in Psalm 103:3 that He forgives all our sins and heals all our diseases. We pray that God will breathe life into his body, clear the infection from his system, restore his heart and bring him fully out of coma, and that He will draw him and his entire family into saving faith in Jesus Christ.

If your request was answered and the Lord has brought healing and restoration, please post a praise report and let us all know so we may rejoice with you. If your request does not yet seem to have been answered and he remains in need of healing, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.

May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ. We continue to pray in Jesus Name, Amen.
