Heart aorte surgery, sepsis, coma

Natasha 2

Beloved of All
Heart aorte - surgery - complications - sepsis, coma, 2-3 times in and out of coma. In a hospital.
Man - ###'s brother ###. Age ###.
Healing and Salvation for him and the whole family. In Jesus name, Amen!

We join with you in lifting up your brother before the throne of grace in this very serious and painful time of heart aorta surgery with complications of sepsis and going in and out of coma in the hospital. Our hearts are burdened with you and we cry out together for the Lord's mercy, healing, and saving grace upon him and upon your whole family.

We are reminded that the Lord is the one who heals us and who is near to those who suffer. Scripture says, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases Psalm 103:3 and But I will restore health to you and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh Jeremiah 30:17. He also promises, Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10. Even when we walk through deep waters of medical crisis, He has not left us, and He hears our prayers offered in faith.

We also rejoice that you have asked in Jesus name, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we can be saved. As it is written, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12 and If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved Romans 10:9. We cling to the promise, Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household Acts 16:31.

So together we pray.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this dear brother who is lying in the hospital between life and death after aorta surgery, sepsis, and coma. Lord, You know his body, You formed him, and You know every detail of this infection and every complication. We ask for Your healing hand to touch him, to rebuke the sepsis, to restore his heart and blood vessels, to bring him out of coma and to restore him to consciousness and strength according to Your will. We pray that You would guide the hands and minds of the doctors and nurses, giving them wisdom and skill. We ask for Your peace to guard his family, for You are close to the brokenhearted and You save those who are crushed in spirit Psalm 34:18. Lord, above all we ask for his salvation and the salvation of his whole family, that each one would turn to Jesus, repent of sin, and trust Him as Lord and Savior. Let this trial draw them all closer to You and bring glory to Your name. We ask that Your perfect will be done in his life, and that whether through healing on this earth or eternal healing with You, Your name would be praised. We entrust him into Your loving care and we thank You that You hear us when we pray in Jesus name. Amen.

We encourage you to continue to pour out your heart to the Lord and to trust Him even in this uncertainty. He promises that In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. Keep gathering family and believers to pray, keep speaking the name of Jesus over him, and keep sharing the hope of the gospel with your family, for God can use even this suffering to draw hearts to Himself. We are standing with you, believing God for mercy, for healing, and for salvation for him and for your whole household.

Thank you for trusting us with this heavy burden. Watching someone you love go through heart aorta surgery and then sepsis and moving in and out of coma is terrifying, especially when there are so many ups and downs and you cannot know what the next hour will bring.

We can imagine how worn out you and your whole family must feel right now, waiting by the hospital, trying to hold onto hope while also feeling helpless. It is understandable to feel that way when a loved one is so critically ill, and it helps to lean on each other and on those caring for him.

One thing that has helped other families in long hospital stays is to keep a simple notebook at the bedside to write down what the doctors say each day and any questions you want to ask next time they come by. It can also help to take turns resting and eating so you have strength to keep showing up, and to let a hospital chaplain or your own pastor sit with you if that is available.

Father, we lift this brother to You and ask for Your mercy over his body as the medical team cares for him. Bring healing as You will, ease his suffering, and give wisdom to every nurse and doctor. Draw him and his whole family close to Jesus, bring comfort, peace and salvation in Your name. We trust him into Your hands. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Your burden for this dear man, your brother, in his grievous affliction has been laid before the Lord and before His people, and we have carried it to the throne of grace with much earnestness. To hear of surgery upon the aorta, and then such fearful complications as sepsis and a coma into which he has fallen and from which he has been brought out two and three times, is to feel how frail is the thread of life and how near eternity stands to us all. When all our own strength fails, our strength is to sit still while God arises and becomes our arm every morning, our salvation in the time of trouble.

We take comfort for you in this, that there is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. The Scripture speaks of the tree of life, and says the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. The least thing about Christ is healing. His very leaves, as it were, are full of healing virtue, and they change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. When the Lord comes and dwells with His people, the Sun of Righteousness rises upon them with healing in His wings, and pardon and healing are one in His pierced hands. We have prayed that the Lord, who alone can heal, would lay His pardoning and healing hand upon your brother in that hospital bed, that He would rebuke the sepsis, restore strength to his body, and if it be His gracious will, raise him up again to health for His own glory. The Lord has begun to heal many by His grace, and the healing virtue which His grace infuses will work health and cure till we shall be without spot or wrinkle.

Yet we have prayed more earnestly still for that which you rightly place first, his salvation and the salvation of the whole family. For what shall it profit a man if his body be healed and his soul be lost. Salvation is of the Lord alone, and it is to be found in the Person of Christ alone. The Scripture says, Whoever believes on Him shall not be ashamed. The way of salvation is to believe on Him, to trust in Him, to leave the whole matter of present and eternal salvation with Him in unquestioning confidence. It is not to believe about Him, but to believe on Him. And how simple and how instantaneous is that way. The Lord himself cries, Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth. A look does not require a moment, and yet that look of faith saves the soul.

We have pleaded that household salvation of which the Scripture speaks, when the jailer at Philippi believed and his whole house rejoiced. He calls an individual and uses him to bring the rest of the family into the gospel net. So we ask that this affliction, which has shaken the whole family, may be the means by which each one is brought to seek the Lord while He may be found. May the grace of God work with you to make you seek, for you shall find, to make you knock, for the door shall be opened, to make you ask, for he that asks shall receive.

Let us pray together. O Lord our God, beside whom there is none else, look in mercy upon this man lying in coma and beset by sepsis after so great a surgery. Thou art the great Physician, and with Thee nothing is impossible. Put forth Thy hand to heal, as Thou wilt, and let Thy will be done in his body. But above all, Lord, save his soul. Enable him, even now in his weakness, and enable every member of his family, to look unto Jesus and be saved. Grant them faith to trust in Christ alone, without money and without price, and to know that to believe on Him is to have everlasting life. Bring this whole family to rejoice in Thy salvation, which is a divine salvation, planned by Thee, provided by Thee, and applied by Thy Spirit. We ask this not for our worthiness, but for Jesus Christ's sake, whose blood is the fountain of both pardon and healing. Amen.
