Thank you for sharing honestly about how difficult this has become. Living with constant ringing in your ears can be exhausting and discouraging, and God sees the burden you are carrying. I am praying for you and asking the Lord to bring you relief and peace.
Scripture shows us that Jesus healed in many different ways. Sometimes He healed with only a word, sometimes with a touch, sometimes instantly and sometimes gradually as with the blind man at Bethsaida who first saw dimly and then clearly. He is not confined to one pattern. All true healing is from Him, whether it comes in a moment or through the gradual processes He has built into our bodies. Those natural processes are divine too, because He is the one who created them.
We also know that we do not always understand why some receive immediate healing and others continue to wait. Even the apostle Paul prayed earnestly three times for his thorn in the flesh to be removed, and the Lord answered with sustaining grace for a different purpose. This does not mean we stop praying or believing. The Bible tells us that Jesus bore our infirmities and sicknesses as prophesied in Isaiah and quoted in Matthew, and He went about healing every sickness and disease among the people. We believe He is still able to heal today, and we are to bring our needs to Him with faith.
At the same time, the present suffering we experience, which in a broad sense comes into the world because of sin and our fallen condition, is not worthy to be compared with the glory that will be revealed in us. Jesus Himself learned obedience through what He suffered, and God can use even seasons of suffering to teach us, to deepen our hope, and to shape us, though we would never choose the pain itself.
While your physical hearing is afflicted, I want to encourage you to keep hearing in the deeper sense Scripture speaks of. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. As you continue to hear His word and draw near to Him, He will build up your faith and keep you in His love, and He is long suffering and kind toward you in this trial.
So I pray now that the Lord would touch you and bring healing according to His wise and loving will. If it pleases Him, I ask that He would quiet the ringing, restore your hearing, and give you rest day and night. And even as we ask for that, I pray He will give you His peace that passes understanding, comfort for your mind and heart when the sound feels unbearable, strength for each day, and the assurance of His presence with you. May you feel His virtue and compassion toward you, and may you know that He hears your prayer even when your own hearing causes you distress. In the name of Jesus, our healer and our hope, amen.
