Hearing condition

We hear your cry for help, and our hearts go out to you in this time of distress. Tinnitus can indeed be a heavy burden to bear, affecting not just your physical well-being but also your peace of mind. We stand with you, lifting this affliction to the Lord, who is our Healer and Comforter.

The Word of God assures us in Psalm 34:17-18, "The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." We cling to this promise, knowing that the Lord hears your cries and is near to you in your suffering.

We also recall the words of Isaiah 53:5, "But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed." By His stripes, healing is made available to us, and we claim this healing for you in Jesus' name.

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our dear brother/sister who is suffering from tinnitus. Lord, we ask that You would touch their ears and bring relief from this constant noise. We pray for Your healing hand to rest upon them, that the ringing would cease and their hearing would be restored. Father, we know that You are the Great Physician, and nothing is too hard for You. We ask for Your peace to flood their heart and mind, calming their spirit and giving them rest.

Lord, we also pray for wisdom for the doctors and specialists who are treating them. Guide their hands and their minds, that they may find the best course of treatment. Give our brother/sister patience and strength to endure this trial, and fill them with hope as they wait on You.

We rebuke this affliction in the name of Jesus Christ, declaring that by His wounds, healing is theirs. We stand on Your Word, which says that You hear the cries of the righteous and deliver them from all their troubles. We thank You for Your faithfulness and for the victory that is already won through Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen.

In the midst of this trial, we encourage you to hold fast to the promises of God. Remember that He is with you, even in the darkest moments. Psalm 46:1 tells us, "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." Lean on Him, and allow His peace to guard your heart and mind.

We also encourage you to seek godly counsel and support from fellow believers. Galatians 6:2 instructs us to "Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ." You do not have to walk this path alone; the body of Christ is here to support and uplift you.

Lastly, we want to remind you of the importance of coming to God in the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through Him that we have access to the Father. John 14:6 says, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" If you have not already, we encourage you to place your faith in Jesus Christ, who died for your sins and rose again, so that you may have eternal life. Romans 10:9 tells us, "that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."

May the Lord bless you and keep you; may He make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; may He lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace. We stand with you in faith, believing for your complete healing and restoration.

We are so sorry you are carrying this. Constant ringing that no one else can hear can be exhausting and isolating, and when sleep and concentration suffer it can leave you feeling fragile and worn down. We hear that it feels unbearable right now, and we want you to know you are not alone in it.

Living with an ongoing condition like this can slowly wear on your sense of self and make ordinary days feel much harder. It is understandable to feel discouraged, anxious or tired when relief does not come quickly, and even to wonder where God is in the waiting. He sees you in this and remains near, even on the difficult days.

Alongside prayer, we gently encourage you to reach out to your primary care doctor or an ear specialist for care for your hearing, if you have not already. They can evaluate what is happening and walk with you on next steps, while we continue to pray for wisdom for you and for those caring for you.

Father, we lift our friend to You who knows this burden intimately. Please bring comfort in the noise, rest where sleep has been broken, and strength for each day. Guide the hands of those who can help, and remind our friend of Your nearness and sustaining care. We ask this in Jesus' name, amen.

Your trial concerning your hearing has been laid before the Lord with deep sympathy, and we join you in prayer concerning this unbearable affliction of tinnitus. The Lord knows the weariness that comes from constant sound, the disturbance of rest and the heaviness of spirit that such suffering brings.

We take comfort in remembering that our Lord Jesus Christ Himself has suffered, and in that He Himself has suffered being tempted He is able to succour them that are tempted and tried. He is not distant from your pain, but looks upon you with compassion. He is set forth in Scripture as the Sun of Righteousness with healing in His wings, and the leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations. Even the least thing about Christ has healing virtue, to change the life blood and to make the nature new, and to bring both pardon and healing to His people according to His perfect wisdom.

We pray for you now, that the great Physician would lay His hand upon you. May the Lord in His mercy grant relief to your hearing, soften the distress of this ringing, restore quietness to your mind and sleep to your body, and give you patience and peace while you wait upon Him. If it be His will, may He remove this affliction, and if He sees fit to continue it for a season, may He sustain you by His grace and make His strength perfect in your weakness. May He heal you fully in body and soul, and keep you looking to Jesus who was made perfect through suffering that He might be a perfect Saviour to all who trust Him.

Cast your burden upon the Lord, and seek Him daily in His Word and in prayer, for faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God, and Christ is nearest when His people call upon Him. We trust you will also seek such help as wise physicians may give, while above all looking to the Lord who healeth the broken in heart and bindeth up their wounds.

May the Lord bless you and keep you, and give you to know more of His healing presence until that day when there shall be no more curse and every infirmity shall be done away. We continue to remember you in prayer before our gracious God.
