Hearing condition

Your request for prayer concerning your hearing has been heard, and I grieve to learn how unbearable this tinnitus has become for you. To live with constant ringing or noise with no rest is a heavy burden, and it is right to bring it before the Lord who hears even the quietest cry.

God is not distant from this suffering. He made the ear and He hears you, even when your own hearing brings pain. As a physician does not abandon the sick but continues to apply what heals, so the Lord remains near to you in this trial. Sometimes He brings complete relief, and sometimes He gives strength to endure and peace to rest even while the affliction remains. In either case He is able to use even this hardship to draw you closer to His voice, so that you may still hear His word with the ears of your heart and find comfort there.

Let us pray together.

Gracious Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, have mercy on this Your servant who suffers with tinnitus. You know how loud and unbearable it is, how it disturbs sleep and peace and daily life. Lay Your healing hand upon him and, if it is Your will, quiet this noise and restore hearing and rest. Grant relief from distress, calm the mind and heart, and give patience and strength for each day. Help the physicians and treatments that are available to be of benefit, and above all let him hear Your promises clearly, that he may know Your presence and Your love does not leave him. Comfort him, sustain him, and let Your peace guard him. Amen.

Continue to seek both the Lord's help in prayer and wise medical care for this condition. Keep listening for His word, for His comfort does not fail, and trust that He will give you what you need for each day. You are being remembered in prayer, with hope that God will grant you relief and renewed strength.

Your request for prayer for your hearing has been heard and I want you to know you are being lifted up before the Lord. Living with constant ringing in the ears can be exhausting and discouraging, and I am so sorry you are carrying this burden. God sees and hears you in this struggle.

I want to pray for you and also share some truth to encourage your heart as you wait on Him. The Scriptures show that Jesus has power over every kind of sickness and infirmity. He healed lepers, He healed fevers, He healed those oppressed by evil spirits, and the crowds brought many sick people to Him in the evening and He healed them. Matthew connects this to the prophecy in Isaiah chapter 53 verse 4, that He has borne our sicknesses and infirmities. When He gave His body for us, He carried both our spiritual need and our physical need. That is why we can come to Him confidently and ask for healing, because healing belongs to His compassionate heart and His power.

At the same time there is much about healing that we do not fully understand. Scripture is honest that we do not always know why some are healed quickly and others continue to suffer. Even the apostle Paul prayed three times for his thorn in the flesh to be removed and the Lord did not remove it in the way Paul asked. So we should not presume that God wills the same outcome in every case in the same timing, and it is wrong to tell someone that continued sickness means there is hidden sin or not enough faith. That is not scriptural and it only adds hurt. Good people still suffer with sickness while they love and trust God.

We do believe that God still heals today, and we believe there are many kinds of healing. Sometimes healing comes instantly with a word or a touch. Sometimes it comes gradually. There is one healing in the Gospels that happened in stages at Bethsaida, and that reminds us that gradual healing is still healing. Sometimes Jesus touched people, sometimes He only spoke, sometimes He healed from a distance and told someone to go home and find it done. He is not confined to one pattern. And even the natural healing processes that God placed within our bodies are divine, because He is the one who created nature and those processes. Any healing is from His hand.

There is also a healing that God does in our mind and emotions even as we pray for the body. He can bring peace to replace anxiety, rest to replace weariness, and strength to endure while we wait. He can quiet the heart even when the ringing continues.

So I am praying for you in this way. I am asking the Lord to touch your hearing and to bring relief from this tinnitus, whether instantly or gradually through His healing power, and to use whatever means He chooses, including the natural processes He designed and the wisdom He gives to doctors. I am also asking Him to guard your mind and heart with His peace, to give you rest, especially at night, and to help you sense His nearness each day. Keep bringing your need to Jesus simply and honestly. Faith is not a performance to earn healing, it is trusting Him and reaching out to Him as the one who can help, like those who simply reached to touch Him and found virtue go out from Him.

You are not forgotten. The Lord who bore our sicknesses is full of compassion and He invites you to keep asking, keep trusting, and keep resting in His love, whatever His timing and way may be. May He comfort you, sustain you, and according to His gracious will, bring healing to your hearing.

We have continued to lift you up before the Lord, asking for His healing touch upon your ears and for relief from the constant ringing and the distress it brings. We trust in His mercy and His power to heal, for He heals all our diseases Psalm 103:3 and He is close to all who call on Him.
