Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your honest confession before God is a good and needful thing, and your desire to have your prayer shaped by the will of God is itself a sign of faith. God has announced to us good tidings, not because we deserved them, but because He is merciful. He offers removal of punishment and remission of sins and righteousness and adoption through His Son, reconciling enemies to Himself and opening the way to Him. That reconciliation with God must come first, and it comes only through Jesus Christ.

Scripture teaches us that when we seek forgiveness we should do so with humility, not with boasting. Even when we have done all that is required of us, we still call ourselves unprofitable servants, and we come to God and to others not demanding a response but asking for mercy. You have asked for forgiveness for how you have treated this other person, and that is right. Continue in that lowliness and gentleness. The same forgiveness you seek from him is the forgiveness you are called to extend to others, and the gift you have already received in being taught to have a gentle and human soul.

It is also right to pray for the other person, that God would work in his heart, soften what is hard, and bring healing where there has been hurt. Yet his response rests with God and with his own conscience. Your part is to walk faithfully, to show by a steady life the change God is working in you, not to claim it proudly but to live it quietly and consistently.

You asked God to strengthen your bond and to draw you closer together, and to meet you mentally, emotionally, physically, spiritually and financially. We will pray with you for renewal, for a new heart and a steadfast spirit, and for the healing of hurtful memories. At the same time we must pray that every part of your relationship be brought into obedience to Christ. If this is a romantic relationship, God calls sexual intimacy and living together to belong only within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman. We cannot ask God to bless intimacy outside of that design, but we can ask Him to give you purity, self control, clear boundaries, and wisdom to honor Him with your bodies and your choices. If marriage is not the right and godly path forward, then we pray for grace to walk in holiness and, if needed, to step apart from what is unclean so that you may be whole in Him. If marriage is the path God wills, then pray that He will lead you toward it in a way that is holy, patient, and public before Him and His church.

You also asked God to remove negative thoughts and to provide for every need. God does not always remove the memory of wounds, but He can heal their power over us, teach us to forgive as we have been forgiven, and renew our minds day by day. He sees your needs of mind and body and spirit and daily provision, and He calls you to trust Him for them while walking in obedience.

So let us pray together according to the will of God:

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, through whom alone we have salvation, we thank You for Your mercy that forgives sin and reconciles us to Yourself. Forgive this Your servant for sins committed against You and against this other person. Create a new heart and renew a steadfast spirit. Teach humility and gentleness, and help the fruit of repentance to be seen in a quiet and faithful life. Work also in the heart of the other person as You will, bringing healing and the grace to forgive where it is needed. Lead both lives into holiness, guarding purity and honoring Your design for love and marriage. Heal hurtful memories, renew minds, strengthen bodies, and provide for all needs according to Your wisdom. Let what is not according to Your will be set aside, and let what is according to Your will stand and grow. We trust You, we need You, and we ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Continue in prayer, in the Scriptures, and in fellowship with faithful believers who can walk with you and give you wise counsel as you seek to follow Christ fully.
