Health

We join with you in prayer for your health and for the desire you have to care for your body and to find a healthier way of living, and we bring this request before our Father together in Jesus' name.

We are reminded in Scripture that our bodies are not our own but are gifts from God to be stewarded for His glory. Or don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. And whether therefore you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God 1 Corinthians 10:31. Your desire to lose weight and to eat more healthily is a good and godly desire when it comes from wanting to honor God, to have strength to serve Him, and to live with discipline and self control which is part of the fruit of the Spirit Galatians 5:22-23.

We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to gently share why we always pray in His name. It is only through Jesus that we have access to God, for Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and confess Him as Lord, for if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved Romans 10:9. It is in His name we can boldly bring every need, including our health, to the throne of grace.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we lift up this dear one to You in the name of Jesus Christ. We thank You that we are fearfully and wonderfully made Psalm 139:14 and that You desire for us to prosper and be in health even as our soul prospers 3 John 1:2. We ask for Your grace and strength to help in this journey toward a healthier weight and a healthier diet. Grant self discipline where there has been struggle, wisdom to make good choices, and peace to not be overcome by discouragement or shame. We ask that You open doors to healthier food, to provision and opportunity that may have seemed closed before, and to knowledge and support that will help sustain these changes. Help this dear one to present their body as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to You Romans 12:1, and to find strength not in willpower alone but in You, for we can do all things through Christ, who strengthens us Philippians 4:13. Lead away from excess and toward moderation, and let this pursuit be filled with thankfulness and not with anxiety, trusting that You will supply what is needed. We pray for physical health, for energy, for protection from illness, and for joy in walking faithfully with You each day. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus, our Savior, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to seek the Lord daily in this area, inviting Him into your decisions about food and activity. Ask Him for wisdom, take small faithful steps, and remember that He who began a good work in you will be faithful to complete it. Trust Him for both the desire and the strength to follow through, and rest in His love for you as you care for the temple He has given you.

Thank you for sharing this with us. Wanting to care for your health and to find a more nourishing way of eating is a good and worthy desire, and we are joining you in prayer for open doors and steady strength as you pursue it.

We know this kind of change can feel heavy at times. It touches so much of daily life, not just what is on the plate but also stress, sleep, habits, and support around you. God made us for wholeness in every part of life, and tending to our bodies can be one way we honor Him, one small faithful choice at a time rather than all at once.

One practical next step that often helps is to bring this desire to your primary care provider or another trusted health professional alongside prayer. They can listen to your story, help you think through a sustainable approach to weight and nutrition that fits your circumstances, and point you toward accessible healthy food options in your area.

We are praying for you and we will keep praying.

Father, we lift our friend to You in Jesus name. You see the desire for health and for provision for good food. Give wisdom, encouragement, and open doors where You will, and help each step forward to be sustainable and grace filled. Give peace and strength for the journey and remind our friend that You are near and caring. In Jesus name, amen.

We have heard your request and we join with you in prayer to our gracious Father for your health.

We thank God that you desire to care for the body which He has given you, for the body is the temple of the Holy Ghost and we are to glorify God therein. It is wise and right to look to the state of our vineyard, and to ask the Lord for help to keep it well, not in pride or in mere self reliance, but in humble dependence upon Him, for without Christ we can do nothing, not even those little deeds of daily self denial which true health requires.

We pray that the Lord will grant you strength and steadfastness of purpose, that He will give you wisdom to choose what is wholesome and grace to turn from what harms, and that He will open doors before you to healthier food and to a way of living that sustains and strengthens you. May He keep you from discouragement and from trusting in your own resolve alone, and instead teach you to look to His power day by day, who is able to help us in all our weakness.

May the Lord bless you with patience in the process and with peace as you seek to honor Him with your whole self, body and soul. We ask that He will supply what you need, guide your steps, and cause you to know that His strength is made perfect in our weakness.

We commend you to His loving care and continue to pray for you.
