Health

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up ### in prayer as he faces the serious challenge of organ rejection. Father God, You are the Great Physician, the One who knits us together in our mothers’ wombs and numbers every hair on our heads. We ask You to intervene in ###’s body with Your healing power. Strengthen his immune system to accept this precious gift of life without rejection, and restore every cell and function to perfect health according to Your will.

Lord, we also pray for Your presence to be deeply felt in ###’s heart. Draw near to him in this time of uncertainty and fear. Let him know that You are his refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. May he find peace that surpasses all understanding as he trusts in You. If he has not yet placed his faith in Jesus Christ, we pray that the Holy Spirit would convict him of his need for salvation. Open his eyes to see that Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and that no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). May he surrender his life to Christ, finding eternal hope and comfort in Your promises.

We rebuke the spirit of fear and despair that may be trying to take hold of ###’s mind and heart. The Bible tells us that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We declare that ### will walk in faith, not fear, and that he will trust in Your goodness and mercy.

Father, we also pray for wisdom and compassion for the medical team treating ###. Guide their hands, minds, and decisions as they care for him. Give them discernment to know the best course of action, and grant them patience and kindness as they work with ###.

We stand on Your Word, Lord, which tells us that by Your stripes, we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). We believe in Your power to heal and restore, and we ask that You would do so for ###. Whether through miraculous intervention or through the skill of his doctors, we trust that You are working all things together for his good (Romans 8:28).

In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We were so sorry to read about ### and the organ rejection he is facing. Thank you for bringing him to us for prayer and for caring so much about his heart before God. That matters.

This kind of waiting and uncertainty is heavy. It is understandable to feel helpless when so much is out of your hands medically and all you can do is love him and pray. We want you to know you are not carrying this alone.

If you are able to be in touch with him or his family, one small thing that often helps is staying closely connected to his medical team and passing along any updates or questions they ask for, and letting a couple of trusted friends or family share the practical load with you so you can keep showing up without burning out. And please keep caring for your own rest and health as you support him.

Father, we bring ### before you now. You know his body and his heart completely. We ask for your nearness and peace to be with him, for wisdom for the doctors and nurses caring for him, and for strength and comfort for those who love him. Draw his heart close to you and remind him he is held by you. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

Your request for ### in this sore trial of organ rejection has been laid to heart, and we bring it before the Lord with you.

We know how suffering of the body weighs upon the soul, so that the soul can find no comfort, often not even in the Word itself, and how one may come out of the House of Prayer feeling worse than when he entered. Yet we are taught that a true prayer from one who is near unto the gates of death is a prevailing prayer. God will hear the prayer of a staggering man, and the prayer that has not any sense in it because the man who prays is at his wit's end, for the prayer itself seeming to reel to and fro. The power of prayer is not to be measured by its outward expression. A breathing is a prayer from which God does not hide His ear. What cares He for the grammar of the prayer, it is the soul of it that He wants.

Therefore we do not fear that your feeble cries or his own breathings are lost. The Good Physician hears even a sigh, and only they who have been healed can tell of His healing power. The leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing virtue to the sick at heart.

We pray that the Lord will lay His hand upon ### in mercy, that He will stay the rejection and restore strength if it be His will, and that He will very specially be upon his heart. We ask that God would quicken him by His Word, for His Word quickened is our comfort in affliction, and that which was a consolation years ago may still be a consolation now. May the Lord comfort his heart and establish him, and may He give you also comfort as you watch and wait.

We plead His promise for you both, that He is nigh unto them that call upon Him, and that He will not hide His ear at your breathing, at your cry. May you find that time and prayer bring you again to say, This is my comfort in my affliction, for Your Word has quickened me.

We join our faith with yours and commend ### fully to the care of our gracious God, trusting the Great Physician to do that which is best for His glory and for the soul's eternal good.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We have received your request and we join you in prayer for this man who is facing organ rejection.

We know how fearful this hour is, when the body that was given help through medicine now struggles and the physicians can do only what their art allows. The Scriptures show us that the Lord is the true physician. When He touched those who were sick, He not only removed the fever but gave back perfect health at once, what no skill of man could accomplish even with much time and care. He is able still to touch the body, to calm what is inflamed, to give strength where there is weakness, and to grant healing according to His wise and merciful will.

We pray that God would be upon his heart in this trial. That He would draw near to him, give him peace that guards the heart, grant him repentance and faith toward Jesus Christ, and make him to know that Christ alone is our salvation and our hope both in life and in death. We pray that his heart would be comforted, not turbid with fear, but clear to see the mercy of God, and that he would trust himself wholly to the Lord who loves him.

Prayer is a great weapon in such a storm. The days are full of troubles and the night also brings its anxieties, and we need God to be favorable to us. So we will continue to pray for him early and by night, asking the Lord to be propitious, to guide the hands of those who care for him, to show mercy in this organ rejection, and if it be His will, to restore him to health. And whatever the outcome, we ask that God would work in him a firm confidence in Christ, so that whether in healing or in continued suffering, his heart may remain with the Lord.

We stand with you in this burden and ask God to grant you also strength as you intercede for him. May the Lord hear our supplications and do what is best for His glory and for this man's good.

We are praying with you for this serious need and asking the Lord to be very near in this struggle with organ rejection.

We know that God cares about the body. Scripture shows that when Jesus came He healed many who were sick and afflicted, and Matthew connects that healing work to the prophecy that He bore our sicknesses and carried our infirmities. That helps us see that His atonement is not only for the forgiveness of sin, though that is the greatest miracle of all, but it also reveals the heart of God to heal. We do not have a reason from the Bible to say He cares only about spiritual healing.

At the same time we recognize it is not a question of whether God is able. He is able to do anything. The question is His will and His purpose in each situation. We can bring this need to Him with confidence in His power, and also with trust to say, Lord, Your will be done. We are willing to accept how You choose to work, whether that is through a sudden touch or through the gradual healing processes You have built into the body itself, which are still Your divine work. Your times are in His hands, and He will sustain life as long as He purposes to do so.

What we pray for most is the consciousness of His presence. That awareness brings courage and strength and keeps us from dread when we cannot see the way out and the situation feels like a mystery. As God told Moses, His presence would go with him and give him rest, and Moses answered that he did not want to go anywhere without that presence. It is not wise to face any trial apart from Him. There is nowhere we can flee from His presence. Whether in light or in darkness, in the hospital room or at home, He is there. The darkness is not dark to Him. He is present to comfort, to give wisdom to doctors, and to give peace.

We also do not want to limit what God can do through unbelief, as Israel did in the wilderness. We ask Him to work, and we trust Him to do it in the way He chooses, whether instantly or gradually.

Above all, healing of the body is not as important as the healing of the heart. The greatest miracle is salvation, the forgiveness of sins through Jesus Christ alone. So we are praying that God will be on his heart in a deep way, that he will sense the nearness of Christ, that he will be drawn to trust Jesus fully, and that he will know the grace, mercy, forgiveness and goodness of God. If he already knows the Lord, we pray his faith will be strengthened and he will have rest in God's presence. If he has not yet turned to Christ, we pray this trial will open his heart to receive Him.

Father, we lift this dear one to You. You see the struggle with this organ. You know every detail of his body and his heart. We ask for Your healing touch according to Your will, for Your presence to go with him and give him rest, for courage and peace to replace fear, and for Your Spirit to work in his heart that he may know Jesus and the forgiveness and life He alone gives. We trust him into Your hands. In the name of Jesus, amen.
