Health Anxiety

I’ve had a fib on and off once a year sometimes two years in between since the Covid shot this past January I got it four times in one month now I’m on medicine that’s making me depressed. Every little pig and knocking my chest scares me. I’m afraid to go to sleep at night every night because last month two times when I went to sleep, I went into a fib while I was sleeping. I kept telling my wife I’m gonna die. I’m gonna die, but God has been so good. He used me to witness at least 40 people in the hospital. The doctors put me on the wrong medicine and he saved my life and gave me the right doctor to fix it. I have a lot of trauma from being in the hospital for three weeks but still, I could see God hand on me. He has used this to bring me closer to him to forgive my parents most important, forgive myself finally and he showed me that he just wants me to God sleep work and walk that’s it. He said to me EXODUS 14:14 I want you to be still and I will fight your battles. But I go to bed every night with bad sleep. I have a new sleep machine and it’s working well please pray that I will stay in rhythm after the cardioversion last week that I won’t be scared for every single burp or pop my chest. And I will let go and finally allow him to heal me as he’s been trying to do for 20 years since I got saved that I will get 7+ hours sleep every night. Good sleep with no problems no anxiety no wake ups no attacks. Every night at 7:30 I start thinking about 9:30 or 10 o’clock and I feel like I’m being walked off to an execution. Please pray for me, brother and sisters that he would heal me and put the right doctors in my path and one day in the future, I would be completely healed and get off all the medicine and find a natural cure over this. Thank you for praying for me. I love you all. I will see you when glory.

We hear your cry, dear brother in Christ, and we stand with you in fervent prayer, lifting your heart and body before the throne of grace. Your testimony of God’s faithfulness in the midst of trial is a powerful witness—how He has used your hospital stay to draw you closer, to soften your heart toward forgiveness, and to reveal His simple yet profound call: *sleep, work, and walk* in His presence. What a beautiful reminder that even in weakness, He is our strength.

We rejoice with you in the ### souls who heard the gospel through your witness, for this is the fruit of a life surrendered to Christ. Yet we also grieve with you over the fear that grips your nights, the trauma that lingers, and the weight of anxiety that steals your peace. The enemy would love nothing more than to keep you bound in dread, but we declare that this is not your portion. The Lord who calmed the storm with a word is the same God who speaks to your heart: *"The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace"* (Exodus 14:14 WEB). This is not just a verse to cling to—it is a promise to stand upon.

Your body’s betrayal with atrial fibrillation is real, and we do not dismiss the physical battle you face. The fear of another episode, the side effects of medication, and the exhaustion of sleepless nights are heavy burdens. But we remind you—and ourselves as we pray—that healing is not just a future hope; it is a present reality in Christ. *"By His stripes we are healed"* (Isaiah 53:5 WEB). Whether God chooses to heal you instantly, gradually, or through the hands of skilled physicians, His will is perfect, and His timing is trustworthy.

We must also gently address the root of your anxiety, for fear is not merely a physical response—it is a spiritual stronghold. Jesus asked, *"Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?"* (Matthew 8:26 WEB). This is not a rebuke to shame you, but an invitation to deeper trust. Every time you lie awake, imagining the worst, you are believing a lie that God is not in control. We rebuke the spirit of fear in the name of Jesus, for *"God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and of a sound mind"* (2 Timothy 1:7 WEB). The same God who kept you through three weeks in the hospital is the One who watches over your sleep. *"Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it. Unless the Lord guards the city, the watchman stays awake in vain. It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows; for so He gives His beloved sleep"* (Psalm 127:1-2 WEB).

We pray now, lifting you before the Father:

*Heavenly Father, we come before You as Your children, interceding for our brother who is weary in body and soul. Lord, You see his heart—how he longs to trust You fully but is haunted by fear. We ask You to break the chains of anxiety that bind him at night. Replace his dread with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Let him rest in the truth that You neither slumber nor sleep (Psalm 121:4), and that even his breath is in Your hands.*

*We pray for his physical healing, Father. You formed his heart, and You know every fiber of his being. Guide his doctors to the right treatments, and let the cardioversion hold firm. If it is Your will, restore his rhythm completely and free him from the grip of this condition. But even if the battle lingers, Lord, teach him to number his days that he may gain a heart of wisdom (Psalm 90:12). Let this trial refine him, not define him.*

*We rebuke the spirit of fear in Jesus’ name. Every lie that whispers, "You will die," we silence with the truth: "For whether we live, we live to the Lord; and whether we die, we die to the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s" (Romans 14:8 WEB). Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, that he may walk in the confidence of a son who knows his Father is fighting for him.*

*Lord, we ask for deep, restorative sleep—seven hours or more, undisturbed by fear or physical distress. Let his sleep machine be a tool of Your peace, and let his nights become a sanctuary where he meets You in rest. When he feels the weight of trauma, remind him of Your nearness. When his chest flutters, let him remember that You hold his heart in Your hands (Psalm 31:5).*

*We pray for his wife, who stands beside him in this trial. Strengthen her, Lord, and give her wisdom to support him with patience and love. Let their marriage be a testimony of Your grace in the fire.*

*Finally, Father, we thank You for the work You have already done in his life—for the salvation, the forgiveness, and the witness You have given him. Complete the good work You have begun (Philippians 1:6). Let this season be a turning point where he learns to surrender his health, his fears, and his future into Your hands. And one day, Lord, let him stand fully healed—whether here on earth or in Your presence—free from medication, free from fear, and overflowing with testimony of Your faithfulness.*

*We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the Great Physician, the Prince of Peace, and the Author of our faith. Amen.*

Brother, we encourage you to take these truths into your heart daily. When fear rises, speak the Word aloud: *"I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep; for You, Lord, only make me dwell in safety"* (Psalm 4:8 WEB). Write down the ways God has already delivered you—your witness in the hospital, the wrong medicine corrected, the trauma yielding to forgiveness—and let these testimonies build your faith. Consider fasting from fear, replacing anxious thoughts with prayer and thanksgiving (Philippians 4:6). And when sleep eludes you, turn on worship music or an audio Bible to fill your mind with truth.

You are not alone in this battle. The same God who parted the Red Sea for the Israelites is fighting for you. The same Jesus who calmed the storm with a word is speaking peace to your heart. And the same Holy Spirit who raised Christ from the dead lives in you, giving life to your mortal body (Romans 8:11). Hold fast to His promises, and let your testimony be this: *"I will fear no evil; for You are with me"* (Psalm 23:4 WEB).

Dear brother, we've been praying for you and wanted to reach out with another word of encouragement. We're reminded of Psalm 34:18, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." We believe that God is near to you in your struggles, and He cares deeply about your anxiety and health concerns.

We want to encourage you to keep trusting in God's goodness, even in the midst of your fears and uncertainties. He is a faithful God who has proven Himself to you in the past, and we believe He will continue to do so. Keep meditating on His promises, like Psalm 56:3, "When I am afraid, I put my trust in you." Speak these truths aloud to yourself, and remind your heart of God's unfailing love for you.

We also want to encourage you to keep seeking God's face in prayer and worship. When you feel anxious, turn to Him in prayer, and allow His presence to calm your fears. You might also find it helpful to listen to worship music or an audio Bible as you drift off to sleep. This can help replace anxious thoughts with God's Word and remind you of His goodness.

Lastly, remember that God is using this trial to draw you closer to Him and to refine your faith. Trust that He has a purpose in all that you're going through, and that He will use it for your good and His glory (Romans 8:28).

Keep holding on, brother. God is with you, and He will not forsake you. Trust in Him, and you will see His faithfulness in your life. We're praying for you, and we're believing that God will give you the peace and healing you need.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We are so grateful you shared your heart with us and allowed us to stand with you in prayer during this difficult season. Your trust in God’s faithfulness, even amid fear and sleepless nights, is a powerful testimony of His grace at work in you. We continue to lift you up, asking the Lord to quiet the anxiety that grips you each evening and replace it with the peace that surpasses all understanding. May He guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus as you lie down to rest, reminding you that He neither slumbers nor sleeps but watches over you with unfailing love.

We pray that the rhythm of your heart remains steady, that the new sleep machine brings deep and restorative rest, and that the memory of past episodes no longer haunts your nights. Father, we ask You to break the cycle of fear that makes every little sensation feel like a threat. Help our brother to release control and truly rest in Your promise from Exodus 14:14—“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” Let this truth sink deep into his spirit, bringing stillness to his soul and healing to his body.

We also ask that You guide his doctors with wisdom, leading them to the right treatments and, in time, to natural remedies that will restore full health. Strengthen his faith to believe that complete healing is possible, whether through medicine, miracles, or both. May he wake each morning refreshed, free from anxiety, and filled with hope, knowing that God is working all things together for his good.

If the Lord has already answered these prayers in ways you’ve seen or felt, we would love to hear your praise report so we can rejoice with you. If the battle still rages, please know we are still here, standing with you in faith, ready to lift you up again. Keep pressing into Him—He is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

May God’s peace, which transcends all understanding, guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.
