You ask for many good things: health, honor for your parents, a renewed mind, protection, and fruitfulness. All of this is right to seek. But take care that your asking is not in vain, and that you do not mistake the honor that pleases God for one that merely pleases men. The honor He desires is not the honor of words and titles, but that which springs from a life of virtue and a contrite heart. It is easy to heap up petitions, yet Scripture says, “With such sacrifices God is well pleased”, the fruit of lips that give thanks, offered through a mind broken and humbled. You have asked for a renewed mind. The mind is renewed not by the hearing alone, but when the word is received with careful attention, held fast in continual recollection, and proved by deeds. There must be fortitude, contempt of worldly things, and deliverance from all that weighs down the soul.

You pray for honor to be shown to your parents. That is the command with promise. But how is that honor truly given? Not merely by calling them blessed while your own life remains unchanged. The truest honor you can bestow is to become an example of godliness yourself, a freeborn son, like Isaac, walking by faith and not by sight. Do not be among those who wear an appearance of piety but are destitute of good works. If you would honor them, let your conduct be such that they see your obedience to God, your chastity, your contempt of riches, your love for the word. That is the honor which makes the parent’s heart glad and brings the blessing of long life in the land.

You have asked for healing and deliverance from evil. These are gifts of grace. Yet remember that He who healed the body often first looked for the amendment of the soul. The woman who came to anoint Jesus sought nothing for the body; she came for the soul, and she honored Him as He Himself desired. So you, when you ask for healing and protection, see that you first bring a sacrifice of a contrite spirit. Then the peace you ask for your walls will not be a passing calm, but the very presence of God. Do not seek temporal prosperity while neglecting that inner prosperity of the soul. “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly,” not as a thing stored up in memory alone, but as a living power that shapes every thought. Then, whether in health or in sickness, you will bear fruit, the fruit of the Spirit, which is love, joy, peace.

As for the evil one and those who cause harm, the surest deliverance is a mind prepared for battle, fitted with the mind of Christ. You cannot expect to be kept from evil while your heart is soft and unmanly, or while you are careless in hearing the word. Stand firm, therefore. Cultivate every part of virtue. Then, grounded in love and rooted in faith, you will prove what is the good and acceptable will of God. Your prayer will not be a string of requests only, but the fruit of lips that truly give thanks, and that is a sacrifice with which God is well pleased.

Your prayer draws together many streams of truth that Scripture weaves into one great purpose: a life grounded in the Word, honoring what God has established, and growing into the fullness of Christ. When you ask for health and prosperity even as the soul prospers, you are touching on a principle woven through the whole biblical revelation, that God's work in the inner man overflows into every part of our existence.

The passages you cited from Ephesians remind us that the command to honor father and mother carries a promise. It is the first command with a blessing attached, that it may go well with you and you may live long on the earth. Yet the Scripture also qualifies this: children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. The relationship is meant to reflect God's own fatherhood, and when parents walk in the Lord, their counsel becomes a lamp and a light. Where that has been broken, where parents have not provided a heritage of love and godliness, the consequences can be deep. Minds can block out years, and the poison of unthankfulness and disobedience becomes a sign of a society unraveling. But the way out is always through the Word. It alone can straighten out the mess that twisted relationships leave in the mind.

You asked for renewed minds, for the mind of Christ, for the eyes of understanding to be opened. This is exactly what happens when we take hold of Scripture with a heart that says, God is right, and my understanding needs to be conformed to what He has breathed out. All Scripture is God-breathed and profitable. When we come to a text that does not yet make sense to us, we do not set it aside. We wait, we seek, we ask for wisdom. If we apply our hearts to understanding and cry out for discernment as for hidden treasure, then we find the knowledge of God. Wisdom is the principal thing. Her ways are pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. Length of days is in her right hand, and in her left hand are riches and honor. But these come to the one who trusts the Lord with the whole heart and leans not on his own understanding.

Your plea for healing is urgent and right. You stood on the promise of Exodus and rebuked sickness in Jesus' name. Yet it is also true that deliverance does not always come through the removal of affliction. The Lord delivers us from every evil work and preserves us for His heavenly kingdom. Sometimes He keeps us from the evil one while we remain in the world, sanctifying us by the truth. When we pray, “Deliver us from evil,” we are asking for protection from the wicked one and from men who oppose the truth, just as Paul asked for prayer that the word of the Lord would run swiftly and that he would be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men. So we hold both together: we ask boldly for immediate healing, and we trust His wisdom if His answer is to strengthen the inner man while the outer man waits.

The mind renewed by the Word becomes a mind prepared for battle. It stops receiving honor from men and starts seeking the honor that comes from God alone. It learns to honor the Son just as it honors the Father, knowing that to dishonor the Son is to dishonor the One who sent Him. This renewed mind craves the pure milk of the Word and grows strong enough to bear the solid food of deeper doctrine. It moves from the elementary principles to full maturity, rooted and grounded in love, filled with all the fullness of God. And out of that abundance, the fruit of the Spirit flows naturally, love, joy, peace, all the rest, because the branch is abiding in the vine and His words are abiding in us.

So continue to pour out these Scriptures in prayer. Let them dwell in you richly. Pray that the eyes of your understanding and the understanding of those patriarchal and matriarchal figures would be flooded with light. Ask for a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him. And as you do, remember that the same God who inspired the Word watches over it to perform it. He places His honor above His name. He will not fail to keep the promises that align with His will, and He will gently correct and realign every request until it matches the mind of Christ. In that process, your joy will be made full, and you will prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
